Constraction reviews in Celina, Texas

I had my pool built by the Team at Hauk Custom Pools back in 2020. Recently I noticed the tile and concrete around the skimmer had cracked. I freaked out as you could imagine thoughts of the worst. Having built a relationship with Robby Hauk I reached out to him not knowing he had retired. Without hesitation, Robby put me in contact with Jordan from Hauk Custom Pools. Jordan came out to inspect the same week and quickly reached out to the team that did the original gunite to ensure it wasn't damaged. Tony and his team came out the next day to inspect. He put me at ease and said the gunite has no issues and it was just the mortar under the stone. Sigh of relief! Jordan and Cassie scheduled a team to come out remove the previous stone and mortar and replace with a new stone. I can't thank Robby and the Team at Hauk Custom Pools enough. Now enough with the review, I'm going swimming!!!

Pool was remodeled last year for 90k. I'll just say this: many things will be promised and or included in the price before you sign the dotted line that won't come to fruition. There will also be a lot of "well we can fix this or that at the end of the project".
Don't buy it. Once they get their payment getting anything done is like pulling teeth. We are still finding/fixing things to this day, which is the only reason I am finally writing a review so that others think twice and go elsewhere.
So far this includes:
*$1,000 + $500 in labor for a damaged sheer descent water feature. It was damaged during the project to the point that it was causing a leak to appear on the back side of the pool. I got out cheap, had this been more serious and required a tear down of my back wall, it could've easily been $5-10k.
*Grout that I finally just ended up doing myself after having them come back out at least 3x to fix it. We're talking totally missing grout lines, half finished grout lines. This wasn't just a few spots but frequently all over the pool deck.
*Paid a separate contractor $500-1000 to make a ramp up to the pool deck as when hauk finished they left a 2-3 inch giant toe stubber (attached below) and one of their managers simply said "just put caution tape or a light bar around it" (lol). They wanted around $2.2k to do a ramp for me even though this had been discussed before the contracts were written and price finalized.
Save your money. Please. As well as the many headaches and stress of having to argue to try and get things done correctly. -
I purchased our house with the Hauk pool in Sept 2025. (Never owned a pool before.) Henry Waller is our weekly pool maintenance person. Henry does an excellent job. He is always cordial and helpful. The other day, I had a problem with my spa water draining. Jared, pool service manager, came out the same day, identified the problem, and explained how the system works. Everything is back to normal. Both service people were great, could not recommend them more.

Highly recommend Hauk for backyard remodels and pools. They completely transformed our boring backyard into something incredible. Started with Jaime who did an excellent job with his design that captured everything that was important to us. Brock was our project manager and he was amazing to work with. Always returned texts or calls and coordinating with all the various teams and always coming onsite to inspect the work. He would notice things that we wouldn't at first, and have the crews fix things. Felt like he was really looking out for us. They took care of all the permitting, scheduling city inspections, and drafting a packet to provide for HOA approval. Really made it all easy.
Realize if you go this route this is a construction project and your home will feel like a construction site for a bit. You need some patience and the ability to keep your eye on the prize, and the belief it will all be worth it. Also be realistic that things with this many moving parts things can happen and not everything always can go to plan. For us, our patio cover was challenging because of our roof line, window locations, and overall layout. Jaime's original design had to be tweaked. I was real impressed how Jaime, Brock and the patio cover builder showed up onsite and hashed out an alternative design on the spot that we loved.
Also really impressed with Ashton who did their pool school. He is really knowledgeable, great at teaching as he showed me how to work everything.
If you are on the fence I say do it. Deal with the construction and you will be happy you got what you wanted rather than settle for someone else's design. We use it everyday, the spa on weekend nights, and in between just enjoy chilling on our covered patio which we did not have before. This sounds dramatic but it really has changed our lives. Can't wait for football season the hang out there. -
We had a great experience with Hauk Custom Pools on our backyard! They did a pool & spa + structure + outdoor kitchen + turf for us. I highly recommend working with Jaime on your design and having Brock as your project manager. Both communicated with us a ton and were flexible throughout the project. We made a lot of last minute changes and they were always accommodating. They also provided solid guidance throughout. All in all, I recommend working with Hauk!

We had a great experience with Hauk Pools building our pool and outdoor kitchen. Gabe really understood what we wanted in a design, Brock was exceptional in managing the build and crews and was always on-site or available via text for questions, Mason never left until the job was done and correct. Once pool cleaning/maintenance started it was amazing with Xavier & Antonio but after we were moved over to another crew, our service declined. I highly recommend Hauk for the build though! That part is definitely 5Star!

We had an excellent experience with Hauk Pools from start to finish. A huge shoutout to Jaime for his incredible designs, responsiveness, and deep knowledge. Jaime was always quick to accommodate requests, offer thoughtful suggestions, and make sure the design matched exactly what we envisioned. His expertise really shows, and it made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.
Equally impressive was our project manager, Brock, who truly went above and beyond throughout the pool-building process. Brock did an outstanding job paying attention to every detail and keeping us informed at each and every stage of construction. Communication was clear, consistent, and proactive — which gave us a lot of confidence during the build.
Even after the project was completed, the team came back promptly to take care of minor punch-list items until everything was done to our full satisfaction. That level of follow-through really sets Hauk Pools apart.
We highly recommend Hauk Pools, and especially Jaime and Brock, to anyone considering a pool. Professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely committed to customer satisfaction! -
I want to share my full experience with Hauk Pools so future customers — and Riverbend Sandler, who now owns the company — understand what went well, what didn’t, and why my final rating is 3 out of 5 stars.
This was my second Hauk pool. The first had communication and quality issues, but before signing again, I was assured things would be different. I’ll admit I’m fairly Type A when it comes to details and communication, and I made it clear that consistent updates and clear expectations would be key for me before construction began. That was noted as an area Hauk said had improved compared to my previous build. Unfortunately, while there were some positives this time, many of the same issues resurfaced during the project’s execution.
Contract & Timeline
The contract said four months, and to their credit, the pool was done in about ten weeks. However, fewer than twenty actual workdays occurred, with long gaps followed by rushed work. While early completion sounds good, poor pacing caused avoidable mistakes.
Conditions During Construction
For nearly six weeks, the pool sat green with algae and filled with debris from crews using it as a trash chute. Around the same time, the gas-line trench was left uncovered for nearly a month, creating a safety hazard. Both situations were unacceptable and fell short of Texas’s requirement for work to be done in a good and workmanlike manner.
Design & Planning
The plans showed three septic lids, but there were actually four — something I also missed and had already paid a portion of before ultimately removing the arbor from the design. Before construction began, it became clear the arbor would have been just a couple of inches from one lid and directly over a septic tank. While it technically could have stayed there, doing so would have limited future access for maintenance and changed the intended layout of the space.
Hauk stated that steel posts had already been fabricated and billed roughly $3,000 for materials. After discussion, the cost was split while it appeared likely the materials could be reused on another project. I appreciate that they shared the cost, but the oversight should have been caught before any fabrication or billing. It ultimately reflected another example of missed detail and quality control.
Concrete & Decking
This phase was the most frustrating. I pointed out a crooked skimmer while the concrete was still wet and was told, “98% of customers wouldn’t notice.” Instead of fixing it, the crew hit it with a hammer, causing cracks that remain visible. Deck cuts were uneven, measurements off, and concrete ground down instead of re-poured.
Subcontractor Oversight
I repeatedly had to stop mistakes myself — rebar installed wrong, coping added where it didn’t belong, crews following outdated plans. Hauk’s response was always, “That’s not on the plan.” Managing subcontractors is the contractor’s job, not the customer’s.
Finishing & Closeout
Our final walkthrough was on September 11, with several items still incomplete. I followed up immediately, but most fixes dragged into late October. Some vendor delays were beyond Hauk’s control, but communication was poor until a new project manager stepped in during the last few weeks. She was communicative, responsive, and clearly cared — her professionalism made a noticeable difference.
Cost & Value
I understand that costs have risen across the industry since my first pool in 2017. Labor, materials, and permitting are all more expensive now, and I accept that reality. But this pool — which is smaller and simpler — cost nearly twice as much as my previous one, without the same level of finish or attention to detail. That’s where my frustration comes from.
Final Assessment
The pool was finished faster than promised and looks good overall, and my family truly enjoys having it. I’m thankful to finally have a finished space to relax in. But the journey there was uneven — marked by poor communication, weak supervision, and inconsistent follow-through until the very end.

This company is truly amazing! I have used them multiple times with my design business and my clients have always been ecstatic with the way the jobs comes out. They have always been honest with me and they have great prices.

They did a great job on our grout. It turned out way better than expected. They were quick and efficient and very easy to work with. I would high recommend.

My floor looks new! Seal Systems did a fantastic job cleaning and sealing my tile and grout! Very nice guys and terrific customer service. I couldn't be happier!
-
The guys did a good job. My problem is that after the work was completed, I made several phone calls which Tyler would not return. He answered the phone each time I called prior to the work being done. Then after the work was completed his phone went to voicemail. My concern is if anyone has a problem will he return phone calls. He didn't with me unfortunately.

I can't say enough great things about this company and the level of service. Favian cleaned and treated the floors and grout in three bathrooms, and the kitchen. Our floors look brand new, and our floors are 25yrs old. Very happy customer.
-
Edgar was very responsive and knowledgeable about our Saltillo tiles! He came out on an urgent request and recommended the best solution(Not the most expensive solution). I will always call Edgar for my tiles. FIVE stars.
-
What a pleasant surprise. I found a company with good pricing and a great job done. It’s a rare event that I would recommend a business because there is usually something about a job I’m just not quite happy with. Not here, a job well done by Fabian. Saved lots of money over the big named businesses that provide the same product.

I called Seal Systems to fix what another tile/grout contractor ruined. Tyler and his team were able to restore my master bathroom /shower for a reasonable price. They were professional and helpful and I wish I had gone to Seal Systems first to avoid the catastrophe he had to fix.
