Disappointed Repeat Customer — Beware of Upselling & Water Heater support

I’ve been a loyal customer of JD Precision Plumbing for about five years and had them install two new water heaters in 2021. Recently, one of the heaters stopped producing hot water. I had a technician come out to clean the tanks, but the issue continued even after the service.

When I asked for help I was told they couldn’t warranty the water heater because my last cleaning was over a year ago. The technician didn’t offer to troubleshoot the issue or suggest how to fix or order parts—just tried to sell me an “upgrade” to a tankless system for $11,000.

That was disappointing and felt like a hard upsell rather than real customer service. After years of repeat business, I won’t be going back.

Michael was so helpful and knowledgeable! I had another company trying to tell me I “needed” to buy a new toilet. I called JD Precision…Michael came out and got right to work! He found my issue and got it fixed within 30mins. He saved the day!

Andrew did a great job replacing water heater parts. Gave us preventative maintenance tips and took the time to explain everything. Andrew is very knowledgeable and professional.

Whun diagnosed the problem in about 1 minute and quickly got to work. He fixed my problem in no time at all. We discussed a few other things like a leaky commode and the necessity of cleaning my two tankless water heater on a regular basis. I totally agreed and he set up an appointment for the next day to have these taken care of. Whun's personality is great and I enjoyed speaking with him.

Great job! Worked with us in getting the price down some to help us out with our tight budget. He was patient with the install, it was a bit tight getting it installled under the sink. AND he was out to our house in a timely manner.

I had JD Precision Plumbing Services install a water heater. Within a year, it was leaking and I had mold growing in my attic. I called multiple plumbers to see what Precision Plumbing did wrong; after viewing the damage, they suggested I sue. Apparently tape was involved?

It cost me thousands of dollars to have the water heater re-installed properly.

I called about a leaking pipe in the front yard, and Kevin came for that job. He also did two other nonurgent jobs Inside the house on the same day that weren’t related to the call. He was very friendly, courteous, and professional. He kept me updated while patiently answering questions. Kevin was extremely easy to talk to and an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.

Moms backyard pipe was leaking and from the first call to the receptionist to the end result with Vincent was phenomenal. They identified the fix and were able to complete it the same day. The plumber who helped us was very helpful and informative. Their services are a little on the high end as far as price goes, we just had our drain line flushed and it was more expensive than I would’ve liked or anticipated for such a task. But it needed to be done

The reason i agreed to this large job was simply Mike having such impressive product and industry knowledge. He was professional and efficient. He offered multiple avenues for solving my problems.

I was told that it was going to take a structural engineer to get my hot water replaced. David and his team mate came in and took care of it within 24 hours with an upgrade and no structural renovations needed. And I got a great warranty plus annual service included. So happy with this company. 10/10 recommend!

Dugat Austin service tech from JD Precision Plumbing came to evaluate my AO Smith 40 gallon water heater issue on Saturday Sept28, 2025. He said I needed a new water heater & new metal piping. Austin was polite & professional but then what happened next is down right swindling . His bid to install a new water heater was $4,106 to $4, 869. I explained that I was unprepared to pay that much and my earlier research showed to be closer to $2,000 total. Austin said these are commercial grade water heaters & there are no reductions in price or negotiation only interest free for 1 year. I thanked him and paid my $100 for his service and I asked may I have a detailed cost proposal. He said he would send it. On Sunday I reminded him & he sent the same price with no details for elements of cost. This story has a happy ending I purchased my new AO Smith unit and it was installed by JT of Houston Plumbing for a total for everything of $1,568. Yes using the new metal piping too with a 6 year warranty. That’s a savings of $2,568 from JD Precision plumbing lowest bid. Their pricing to a senior citizen was outrageous with little to no cost substantiation . Buyer BEWARE!!!
