updated: Feb 11-2026. I hired Christopher Murphy to complete the inspection on a new construction home we are under contract for, and I am incredibly grateful that we did.

During the inspection, Christopher identified a significant building-envelope issue at the stucco-to-brick transition that could have resulted in long-term moisture intrusion and costly repairs down the road. This was not a minor cosmetic item — it was something that could have easily gone unnoticed and potentially cost thousands to fix after closing.

What truly stood out was not just his knowledge, but his integrity and professionalism. He took the time to patiently explain the issue in simple terms (I am not construction-savvy), walked me through building code references, manufacturer requirements, and even provided supporting documentation. We recently hired A-Action to inspect our newly built home, and Mark McKinney was our inspector. He did an outstanding job! Bo at A-Action was an amazing detailed home inspector. He took time to explain everything I asked about and gave me additional advice for me to consider. His written report included numerous photos and it was easy to understand his recommendations. As a very detailed person myself I really appreciated the work he put into this. I would absolutely use Bo again.

I was exceptionally impressed by the knowledge and rigor that Brendan applied to this inspection.

He was able to answer any questions I had, and never even appeared to be annoyed at all by them (I might come across as “Dennis the Menace” with Mr Wilson to some).

For pre-drywall, I spent $495 with an inspection company where the inspector started and ended before the appointment time. He did go through his list with me, but when I walked the house with him and pointed out my concerns, he ended up with a report which was predominantly things he missed. I was disappointed.

I thought I needed to get better at noticing anomalies, or maybe even memorizing the IRC, and started watching Cy Porter and Gold Star on YouTube. I contacted Cy Porter (who surprisingly responded quickly to my question), and upon request for referrals, provided A-Action as a reputable inspection company in the Houston area.

Brendan showed up at the agreed upon time, did an exceptionally thorough job, and now I can see that “real” inspectors find things I certainly would not. Very happy and satisfied.

I am glad I didn’t give up on the inspection process, and I can understand why Cy recommended A-Action Home Inspection.

I avoid social media in general, but Brendan did such a great job, that this was worth an exception.
