This place is fantastic. Habib, the owner, worked with his team to really give me a customer solution specific to my house. Also, Shane was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable, walked me thru all the specific of what was going on and talked me thru exactly what would be needed to solve the problem. Not to mention he showed me an issue no other company did (kinked line).

Highly recommend. Use them for all your hvac needs.

Tech was thoughtful, professional, and fairly priced. We had a tricky problem partially caised by fault wiring in a complicated set up. It took some work to figure it out .

From the moment I contacted them when i got home from work which was after 5, I couldn't have been more pleased. They scheduled a technician for the same evening. Comfort Star installed my unit five years ago and have always been a pleasure to work with. They check my system regularly. Jeremiah the technician was personable and very knowledgeable. He assessed the problems and presented them to me with solutions. He quickly repaired the part and left me feeling confident that I chose the right company several years ago. Thank you so much! My AC unit stopped cooling late Friday afternoon. When I found these guys on Nextdoor , I called. To my surprise they sent Miguel out that same day (on a Friday!) around 7pm. He diagnosed the issue and then returned Saturday morning to complete the job!
They were not the cheapest company-but they were the fastest and most efficient! Miguel stayed in contact with he along the way to explain the repair process, and next steps which was appreciated.

He invited me to come with him while he was doing the work and it was super interesting to learn about how all the various components of my system work from a high level. He explained everything to me really well. Comfort Star is now my new go to for HVAC.

At Comfort Star, Shane is my go to guy. He knows his stuff!! Shane takes the time to show and explain to you in detail exactly what the problem is and the method(s) to solve it. He takes videos and pictures in order to be detailed in his explanations. He does what he says he’ll do by being efficient and trustworthy.
Shane recently fixed the leak in my a/c system and it’s working beautifully.
I have used this business several times and have yet to be disappointed with the outcome.

Comfort Star Tech Miguel came out to do maintenance on my AC unit. He was very nice and professional. He conducted satisfactory work and explained to me what he did and even gave recommendations and explained to me preventative maintenance for my unit. I will highly recommend Comfort Star to anyone for their AC needs.

We've had Shane and other technicians come out and they always do an excellent job. They're knowledgeable and diligent and always pleasant to have around. Shane is always good at explaining the problem and giving a thorough explanation of what is needed and why. Documentation of past visits is good too. Would recommend to others.

So last week my ac unit went out. The air was blowing, but it wasn't blowing cool air. I've dealt with Comfort Star in the past. But I decided to use my home warranty to put in a claim. That was a big mistake. Choice Home Warranty sucks so bad, they sent out a tech from 3rd Coast HVAC. The techs who came to my house only spent 15 minutes. They said nothing was wrong with my unit and my ac was running fine (mind you its 100° in Houston) and my thermostat in my home was reading 80°. The only thing they told me was that the wrong size capacitor was put on my unit. But they said it was working just fine.

Well to make a long story short 3rd Coast HVAC lied about nothing being wrong. So I reach out to Comfort Star and asked them when did they put a new capacitor on my unit, they informed me it was back in 2022.. so Shane Martin came out and looked at my unit. I went outside with him. He showed me that my capacitor was totally dead, that's why the ac unit wasn't blowing. He also went into my attic and told me that the drip line was clogged. This is why I appreciate Shane M. He went above and beyond to find out the reason for my unit not properly working. After looking at the unit outside Shane did tell me he put the wrong size capacitor on my ac unit back in 2022 and he apologized profusely. I appreciated his transparency and the fact that he admitted his mistake. He was able to fix the issue. He even stayed a few more minutes just to make sure my house cooled down before he left. Shane made a small mistake back in 2022, but was able to correct it today (Free of charge). I appreciate the worker he is and the company. They do care about their customers. I will definitely continue to do business with Comfort Star AC Repair.

I had a broken thermostat which was covered by a home warranty. Miguel was assigned to do the work and he is excellent. He did a great job with the actual repair, but I really appreciated his honest advice about different kinds of thermostats, costs, benefits, etc. I am going to switch to this company for my regular twice a year service. Highly recommend!

We have used Comfort Star for at least three years, each time the service is exceptional. The technicians are always courteous and knowledgeable, and our issues are resolved quickly and within one attempt. Wouldnt recommend anyone else!

UPDATE: needed a new drain line as the original was severely clogged. They ran a new line and I have had no issues since.

So, so. Guy started trying to upsell me as soon as he entered the house. Said he cleared the drain line and that I needed a plumber to clear the line where the AC drains. I did, and still have to get up in the attic every 2-3 days to drain the pan.

Our AC went out and calling Comfort Star was the best decision ever! They were able to fit us in quick with a next day appointment to diagnose the problem. Shane arrived right on time and was very thorough. He understood "our" situation and gave us a few options to go with. We really could not afford to get a new unit but by the grace of God, family stepped in to help. Javier and his crew arrived today and did the work efficiently and thoroughly. They made minimal distractions coming in and out of the house, as my 89 year old mother who's in a lift chair, watched them go to work! The entire job only took 4 hours and now we are cold! lol. Habib stopped by to check on the guys and took time to chat with us. Mom asked if Javier could be her new boyfriend! Laughed so hard! This was a referral from my trusted neighbor and we will definitely be using Comfort Star for all future AC services. We had no idea that our airhandler inside unit was 2001!!! They really saved us because there was so much mold and dirt caked on everything for way too long. Oh, and Elita in the office was phenomenal! Very thorough to get us all of the paperwork we needed.

I’m glad I found Comfort Star when we first moved to Houston, they have repaired failing systems in the past and maintained our current system with dependability.
Our downstairs unit went down on a weekend, and the owner returned my call outside of his normal business hours and found a tech who was working emergency calls on Saturday. Issue found and repaired and resolved in less than half a day’s time, which is rare in Houston.

Highly recommend! They were timely with their appointments and very responsive when I had to get them back out. Martin was extremely patient with me, thorough, and efficient. He was even able to explain the issue to me in a very understandable way. Will only use comfort star in the future.

We had the best experience with Comfort Star, Habib (owner), Miguel and Marco (who did the replacement and reinstallation of air duct & plenums).

Our house was built in the 1960s and we have always had AC issues since moving in.

Regardless of the type of units installed, the AC was loud when it turned on and the house was simply not cool enough. We could never get the temp to be lower than 79 degree no matter how long the AC was kept running.

Last year, we had the furnace, compressor, and coil replaced, but the problems remained. What’s worse, the drain line kept getting clogged, shutting down the AC altogether. For several nights I had to take a wet vacuum to suck up all the water in the pan so that we won’t be without AC. It was a nightmare.

I called the AC guys who installed the units, they blamed the clogging on the type of insulation in my attic and said there’s nothing they can do about the situation. I didn’t believe them. I called 4 companies (including Comfort Star) to come over and see what’s wrong with our HVAC system. Of the 4 companies I called, one company flat out refused to do the job because it was “too complicated”, another company sent someone who was very new to the business and only took pictures. Comfort Star was the ONLY company that sent over someone who is really experienced with the HVAC system. Habib was the owner who came over to look at our system, he was in the attic for 10 minutes and immediately identified a number of problems. He then spent almost half an hour in the attic explaining and showing me what the problems were and what needed to be done.

Due to many units improperly installed, the job was costly, and we had a lot of questions. Habib was always patient and quick in answering them, which was truly appreciated.

On the day of duct replacement, Miguel and Marco came and worked from 7am to 9pm. They were on time and extremely courteous.

What impressed me the most is that they really cared about making sure everything is done right. We had an issue after they finished the job and although it was Sunday afternoon, Habib came right away to resolve the issue.

Now my AC is working quietly and cooling the house very effectively. If I have problems in the future, I will not hesitate to contact Habib because I trust he and his team will do a good job. I have included before-during-after pictures to show the big differences.
