My A/C stopped working on Saturday, Sept 2nd. Late that afternoon, I called my home warranty company and they sent a work order to Service Maxx to respond to my request for service. I called Service Maxx to identify a time that they would come out. I talked to Jamal, the owner. He said they would be out the next day, Sunday, at 9:00 am. They arrived on time, assessed the problem and identified the needed work..... replacement of the air handler in the attic. Jamal said that he would send the information to my warranty company and they would order the replacement equipment. Since this was on the Labor Day weekend, he could not contact them until Tuesday morning which he did. The equipment arrived in Houston on Friday afternoon. Jamal called and informed me that he would come out on Saturday morning to install the new air handler coils. They arrived on time and worked for over 4.5 hours installing the equipment. Since the new equipment was a different dimension than the existing equipment, they made appropriate modification to the system duct work and they also installed new float switches.

Jamal, the owner of this Service Maxx, was outstanding in their response and arrived on time. They were courteous and experienced AC technicians. Great work!

Jamal and Hussein arrived promptly and were courteous and thorough. They did an excellent job on my duct work and my dryer. We plan on using them for other projects, and we would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Jamal was awesome and so kind and helpful. Our air went out after Harvey and we also had twin toddlers. He came to our rescue! We trusted him and his entire crew all wonderful and helpful. I highly recommend them!

ServiceMaxx guys are simply the greatest. Very genuine, honest, and reliable. Came over one phone call on Saturday without charges, quoted best price, and fixed it with a year of free service warranty. I got compressor fan motor fixed and will get coil fixed.
I will give these guys five stars any day....

I cannot say enough about this company! After buying a older house with the AC unit from you know where and the Home Warranty Company from you know where (Amazon Home Warranty), Jamal has been the most accommodating contractor I have dealt with in the past decade.

Needless to say I had to go the route of a new system. So I replaced everything lock stock and barrel. With my requirements and energy efficiency for myself and not ERCOT he set me up with unbelievable setup, reworked my duct work that was previously install wrong.

His crew is nothing but amazing. ServiceMaxx is a small local business, but a Jamal is an old school employer. Take care of your employees and they will take care of you.

Mr. Jamal was efficient. He was reliable in regards to displaying what needed to be repaired. He was cost effective, taking into consideration of Covid-19 economy. He wore a mask to protect himself and my family. He was cordial, receptive on allowing us to explain our concerns, then diagnosed the cause without any hesitation. We needed our A/C serviced on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Jamal and Andreas were timely, courteous and thorough. Service call and parts were very reasonable. Absolutely will use them again- highly recommend.

My unit stopped working in the middle of the day and I was lucky enough to purchase Home service through Center Point Energy. I then contacted CPE for service and Jamal got assigned to check on my unit. He showed up with the window of time I was given, and helped fixed up the AC wire and replaced the contactor. The job took him nearly two hours. Overall, I am very happy with their service. Thank you!

Jamal was great! He was very responsive, listened to my concerns, correctly and efficiently troubleshot my AC system. He is very fair and honest with his pricing and work. He absolutely stands behind everything he does! In addition, he always answers the phone, no matter what the concern, he communicates the whole process each step until the job is complete! If you’re looking for an honest HVAC company look no further. I would absolutely recommend them!

It does not leave me feeling feel great to be charged $800 for $75 of parts and 1.5 hours of work. Am I glad my AC works again...yes. We're they quick and polite...yes. Hence, 3 stars. But do I feel a little taken advantage of...yes. Will I use them again or recommend them to neighbors...no. Consider shopping around unless you need it fixed quick.

Fantastic, amazing, professional, prompt, kind, very accommodating company. I contacted Jamal about 10:30 am, I wanted him to check my second floor ac unit, which was not blowing any air at all. He expressed he would have a tech at my home later on that day between 2-5, his tech Andres sent me a reminder that he was on the way at 1:36, he arrived at 2pm sharp. I told him the issues I was having he immediately headed to the unit’s location, within 10 mins he located my issues a busted jammed fan, he also contacted my units manufacturer while he was in process of diagnosing the issues, for warranty coverage, just fantastic! We agreed on a price, Andres left, returned with the new vents, began the replacement and had my system up and running within a 30 min window or so. Amazing job and efforts, Andres was professional, he was friendly, prompt, very knowledgeable, helpful, made me felt comfortable, and the biggest was the fact that ServiceMaxx is a small business that you can trust. Andres even picked up my Amazon packages left at my door. 😆 These guys are amazing!! Dealing with both Jamal and Andres you could tell they cared about their customers, they were personable, very reasonable, and offered competitive pricing…I will definitely be using them if need be in the future. I have a unit that suddenly stopped working and we are on the verge of a Houston summer. It's an older unit and I thought it was going to be a real issue to get fixed. Jamal showed up well within the widow of time I was given, as well as analyzed and fixed the problem before I knew what happened. The motor and capacitor were replaced (parts for my old unit right in the van) and all was right with the world again. Jamal is friendly, professional, and efficient and Service Maxx has earned my business as THE air-conditioning company I will be using from now on!

We called Service Maxx on August 15th to repair our AC and scheduled service for the following day. Since then, the same two technicians have come out to our home multiple times, and the issue is still not resolved.

On August 16th, they diagnosed the problem as a failed blower fan motor and said they would return Monday to replace it. On August 18th, they showed up with the wrong part. After repeatedly power cycling our system, they admitted the mistake and said they’d be back the next day with the correct motor.

On August 19th, the same two technicians returned again — but instead of resolving the problem, they suddenly claimed the AC’s control board (the “motherboard”) was fried and even suggested we may have caused the damage. That accusation was unprofessional, and worse, checking the control board is a basic part of HVAC diagnostics that should have been done on the very first visit.

Meanwhile, our family has been left without AC for days, with two cats and two dogs suffering in the heat. The repeated misdiagnoses, lack of preparation, and shifting of blame are unacceptable.

Service Maxx wasted our time, left our pets and household in unsafe conditions, and failed to provide even the minimum level of competent service. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

Update: Jamal just called me and threatened to sue me. I guess leaving a less than stellar review is unacceptable and he let me know that he did not approve (we have the receipts, voice memo is clutch). I wish he took the same concern with the quality of work he provided for me.

Jamal was great! Very professional and honest. He and his team took care of our furnace (fan blower motor) quickly with no problems. We would definitely recommend Service Maxx to others and use them again!
