Andrew came out to clean my dryer vent and did a wonderful job - and I got a 6-month warranty! I really trust him with my home.

About a month and a half ago, Natasha and a couple of guys came out to check our HVAC system and ducts after we complained about their initial service. There was a leak (I believe a coil leak) in the system in the attic. They fixed that leak and removed all the mold again. I am sensitive to mold and was able to tell that the air quality was indeed better upstairs. I hadn't been able to go upstairs for a few months without my airways getting irritated. We have been checking the coils and drip pan every week or two since their last service and everything still looks good. I am thankful for their willingness to work with us and remedy the situation.

The back story on this was that they came in April of this year and did an HVAC cleaning. David, the owner, said he was IICRC certified and I had suspected mold at the time so I went with his company. His guys came and seemed in a hurry and I felt like they didn't contain the spores like they should have. I thought they didn't use a negative air machine, but maybe they did and I just didn't see. They did remove the mold but didn't tell us about the leak so that we can fix it so the mold wouldn't come back. I feel like as soon as they saw mold, they should have paused and told us about it so that 1) we can find the leak and fix it first and 2) if the mold is bad enough, we can get a certified mold assessor out to come up with a plan to safely remove the mold. That plan would've included Steam Express. But since there was no professional remediation plan, they didn't go by IICRC standards and went by a different set of standards. This is what I was told by Natasha.

Overall, I am pleased with their customer service and willingness to remedy and education us on the process. Mold remediation is not regulated as well as it should be, so it isn't completely these companies' fault that they aren't as thorough as they should be. Unfortunately, it is up to the consumer to be educated. So if you suspect mold, you have to make sure that duct cleaning companies let you know if they see mold before going in and "cleaning." Because their cleaning can do more harm than good if not done properly. If there is mold, you gotta find the leak and fix it first, and depending on how bad it is, you may have to call a certified mold assessor out before any cleaning and remediation is done. They will come up with a plan to safely remove the mold. Hope this helps.

We needed a deep clean. Andrew came in and did an inspection first. After inspection he clearly showed us how the duct looks inside and then suggested what exact treatment was required for our vents.
His rates are also reasonable. I’m glad we chose them.

Andrew did a great job cleaning our carpets, even though they are very old. We would recommend steam express to anyone who wants clean, fresh smelling carpets!

Andrew arrived on time and performed an inspection informing us of some mold issues etc. He provided an estimate and quickly did a thorough deep cleaning of all ducts and mold treatment. He was friendly and professional. Highly recommend him!!!!

Steam Express in Austin performed a chimney sweep and dryer vent cleaning. The two jobs were conducted efficiently by Andrew and Joseph in about 45 minutes. Andrew and his teammate, Jose, from Steam express came out and were very knowledgeable, personable, friendly, and helpful!
