HVAC reviews in Houston, Texas

I called this company in trust of their many reviews… I needed a service a couple days ago, the home had a working AC unit but some how it was not blowing cold air inside the home. They sent a technician (Brady) in for $99.
After about an hour or so, technician called to say: “There was nothing wrong with the fans, I checked the wires, jump started the AC unit, but the thermostat is broken and needs to be replaced”. So I asked what it meant $, to which he said: “I have two thermostats here, one for $700 and another for $600”. It’s company pricing and can’t really do anything about it.”
I don’t know where all the good reviews come from, or this was just this one technician’s poor assessment, but my experience with ONE HOUR AC & HEAT was NOT good at all. The same thermostat costs between $140-$150 at Amazon… and after I called another contractor, he went in the next day, RESET the thermostat, rechecked main AC unit and reinstalled the thermostat I already had in the house… and the problem was fixed.
I felt the technician was not truthful or was simply unknowledgable or what the real problem was and based on his assessment, COMPLETELY OVERCHARGED for something NOT NEEDED.
I cannot recommend this business at this time. -
I had a very disappointing experience with One Hour Air Conditioning. Recently they charged me $964 for replacing three items (a 45+5 MFD run capacitor, a hard start kit, and a surge protector) and listed it only as a “storm kit” on the invoice. After researching, I found all three items together cost under $150, and the capacitor alone is widely available for under $50. Despite repeated requests, they refused to provide a proper itemized invoice.
I understand that service companies usually charge a markup on parts, but in this case the markup was excessive — about 10 times more than market value.
This is not the first time. Just two months ago, they replaced the same dual capacitor and charged me $489 for a part that again costs less than $50 in the market.
In my opinion, this is extremely unfair pricing and a lack of transparency. Customers deserve honesty and itemized billing. I strongly caution others to carefully review charges before agreeing to any service. -
Had a great experience with One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating of Houston. The technician arrived on time, was professional, and took the time to explain what was going on with my system instead of rushing through the visit. Everything was clearly laid out before any work was done, and the service was completed efficiently. Definitely appreciate the honesty and customer service would recommend.

I highly recommend Michael Sweet, who has been my long-term AC technician for several years. Michael is honest, dependable, and incredibly knowledgeable about every product and system he works with. His expertise shows in the way he explains issues clearly and provides solutions that make sense—never pushing unnecessary services.
Thanks to Michael’s consistent care and professionalism, my AC system always runs at its optimum level. I truly appreciate his thoroughness, reliability, and the pride he takes in his work. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and well-educated in HVAC systems, Michael is the best you can find. -
Been a long time customer for a reason. I can always rely to get my issue fixed the first time by experienced professionals. Marcos took care of me and he was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the entire repair in getting my AC cooling. He took time to explain the issue, was very thorough, and answered all my questions I had regarding my electrical issue which can be hard to diagnose. Will not hesitate to use their services in the future.

So unfortunately my last review was met with gaslighting. I do feel it's important to take ownership of your staff and business. Allow me to post photos of the work I have completed after he has left. I have rerouted the line essentially fixing the clog that was not even in the location he quoted me. I resealed the panel closed. I also got a good pic of the inside of my unit where he warned me of deadly built up dander and debris that was putting hard stress on the unit. Please see attached the minimal build up. THIS IS NOT THE PIC HE SHOWED. One Hour, it is not about cost it is the fact that you LIED to my face and then I had to crawl back into my attic to prove YOUR clients I was telling the truth. You have good reviews but telling the truth would have had you back in my home to fix all the listed issues you provided. I was concerned about the clog and apparently telling your technician not right now wasn't in his vocab. He was very sweet but lying isn't the way to my heart. Instead, I got to YouTube and fixed it myself while you gaslight me on my reviews.

I love the way these technician respected me and my home. I have never allowed shoes to be worn in my home, I always have shoe covers on hand for those who just don’t understand, these guys came totally prepared with not only shoe covers but, pads for my floor to ensure the installation from my attics did not get on my carpet…… this is 5 star customer care👍!!!! To God be all the Glory, great service these days is rare but, One Hour proved it still exist😊!! Take care.

I’ve consistently had positive experiences with this company. Their pricing has been fair, they’re timely, and the techs are always polite. Unfortunately, my Carrier unit (less than 4 years old) has been a headache, but this company has been great about showing up when they say they will and helping work through the issues. Isaac was especially pleasant and patient with all of my questions, which I really appreciated. Overall, they’ve been reliable and easy to work with every time.

We had a wonderful experience today. Gilberto came out to service our home. He was kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. Got our repairs finished in a quick amount of time, and made sure we knew how to use our new equipment.

I love that they care that I get the maintenance I pay for. So many company's that sign you up for monthly subscription take your money and hope you forget to schedule any follow ups so they can collect amd do no work, not 1 hour, they hound me that I'm over due to get my maintenance done and I truly appreciate it in my chaotic life. Also, I just had my furnace inspected and the tech Alex was a rockstar, fast, efficient, and explained things so well as to what he inspected and that everything looked great.

Troubleshoot home Ac not cooling… Gerardo was dressed and behaved professionally. He knew his job and was polite. I asked many questions and he was able to answer to the point giving me possible causes and of the failure along with possible way of repairing the AC problem. Also, he showed me the equipment he used and the purpose of it. Great job to me as the costumer and outstanding representing his company. Keep it up Gerardo.

We got a whole new system replaced in September. Honestly it was a pretty great experience even with all the stress of having small children and having a full system replacement. Since then we’ve had to have someone come out twice to tweak and check on things and Jacorey has been fantastic. He explains things well and is very thorough!

Joshua Francís, service technician, performed a diagnostic test of my HVAC on Thursday, 02/26/2026. He was very thorough in his evaluation of current components. Upon completion, Joshua and I sat down to discuss the tonnage mismatch of the three major components and how inefficient the system operates as a result. I then agreed to him determining the ‘heat load’, thus more accurately determining needed AC cooling capacity. He then laid out costs of single stage, two stage and variable speed packages along with miscellaneous items to come up with complete pricing for each scenario as well as warranty information and additional package inclusions to help round out the decision making process. Finally, payment options were determined using a soft credit hit and maintenance plan, touting their benefits.
Once he got home, he transferred key elements of his findings into specific items needed for each of the three options for greater clarity and accuracy. A lot to digest, but quotation is good for 30 days, so I’ll be scrutinizing further and likely asking additional questions before making a final decision. Kudos to both Mr. Francís and his employer for seeing him for the gem that he is. Joshua’s enthusiasm for his job really shines through as his acumen is top notch! -
Today my home was visited for the heating unit. That service guy Erick, was a jewel with a very warm and pleasant personality. He took the time to explain all his finds and gave us a wonderful report. The only problem is…. We did not have carbon detectors and he really pushed the concern(well because we have an older unit). And no, he didn’t try to sell us a new unit. One Hour Heating and AC, you couldn’t have sent a better person out. Before he finished in the attic, he took the time and looked for my Christmas tree😊 for me. That’s really saying something about a person who has been trained to do his job and taught respect. Continue to be the SUPER guy you are Erick and happy holidays

I’ve been a one hour customer for more than 3 years. The a/c tech Adam who did the winter maintenance told me the ductwork connected to my unit was leaking. Not knowing much about HVAC he told me the leaks could cause bacteria to enter my house thru the air vents. He told he could seal the leaking ducts and I said okay. After he left I found out it cost only a few dollars of mastic and about 10 minutes of labor and charged me $471. I don’t have a problem with a company making a profit but there’s a huge difference between making a profit and price gouging. In the end I blame myself for not asking more questions and trusting by taking things at face value. Live and learn and tomorrow is a new day. It’s sad a reputable company treats its customers in such a manner. From now on any recommendation will be looked at with doubt. I know what happened and if I’m wrong I apologize but I don’t think I’m wrong.

While we have had a decent amount of one hour employees in our home. All have been very respectful, helpful and honest for the most part. The wife and I were recommended a full replacement of duct work. The first time in they “completed the job” and I was told they were done as far as they could reach. I questioned what that meant because I was sold on a full replacement of duct work because of dust on my vents and this would also fix and evenly distribute the the air in my 1973 home. We had one guest room that wasn’t getting any air. The rest of the home felt fine. They successfully did get air to that room. The rep said they only replaced any ducts that did not require cutting Sheetrock they were not instructed to cut any Sheetrock. I notified him and let him know I was sold a complete duct replacement that was recommended by their rep. Once home I had noticed a broken light fixture in my attic that I wasn’t notified. AC wasn’t turning on which was a door with a sensor on the unit that wasn’t properly set and secured. One hour air being very responsive did the right thing and came back out a second time and addressed all the issues. I haven’t inspected everything but while doing the drywall repairs on my home. I did still see old ducts. As you can see in the images. They placed a piece of new duct to cover the old what I am assuming to hide the old.
While I am happy the one room that wasn’t cooling or heating is now ready for visitors, I wasn’t impressed with the communication that was sent to the field personnel among other things. While I don’t believe they deserve one star because there is a lot of positives to their reps, this specific event did bring down my level of stars I would consider giving the company not the individual reps. The installer did save me a few grand and costly repairs down the line with the knowledge of the item that wasn’t installed.
Lesson learned
1. Ask what duct work is it being replaced with.
2. Be prepared for repairs (we already knew this) ducts get replaced wall repairs and detailed clean up are on owner.
3. Assure before rep starts work ask how much are they communicated to have completed.
4. Assure you get everything installed you asked for. (One item wasn’t installed that we requested but grateful it wasn’t because it wasn’t the item we were actually wanting) saved us some money and a headache down the line.

After acquiring Monte HVAC Services to do our HOAs clubhouses PM program and replacement of A/C units we couldn’t be more pleased with the great work they are performing.
