Black Velvet Chimney is the best fireplace / stove installer around in the Dallas and Ellis county area. If you need any Chimney or wood burning stove work - this guy will do you right. Wonderful people. Truly enjoyed the whole process.

We moved into a 40 year old house and needed to make the brick and mortar fireplace ready for safe use. We had input from several competitors, and Pete from BV did the best of presenting useful insight, both tools like the flue camera tour and knowledgeable description and interpretation.

Took our priorities/values into account, presented alternatives to how to adapt to the choices made on this fireplace in the past. In our case, essentially the exiting crown wasn't well sealed, the flue (liner...) extended to improve draft, but also not well sealed to last. Not a hard sell, but an informed one. The result is our preferred balance of form and function.

Happy with the work done to make the chimney better sealed against the elements, and we now have a stove that's working, seems in good order, and we look forward to many cozy fires. We have suggestions for possible further improvements we could do if we want further cosmetic improvement on the part not visible from the street, and that's up to us.

Just had a replacement warmer put in. They were water heater, courteous, and informative. Plus, their evaluation was the fairest out of the 3 quotes I had. Hopefully there will not be any problems post install, however expertise up to now was great!
