When we bought our house 11 years ago, we learned Austin Air were the folks who installed our system. Over the years I've had cause to call a repairperson a couple of times for run of the mill stuff but all-in-all, for a bottom of the line system, getting 11 years of service in Texas is pretty damn good. Every time we had Austin Air come out I felt like the tech cared about our concerns and the work they were doing. We were always very happy with them. On the handful of occasions I settled for another company who could get to me sooner I absolutely cannot say the same.

Of course, this was the fateful year - our system started to struggle and fixing it would have been half the cost of a new system. At 11 years, the latter was the better path. There is no way for it to be fun spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on something you can't see and just expect to work. But I trusted Austin Air to make the experience as painless as possible. Every point of contact I had with them from the tech who diagnosed our dying system, to the salesperson, to the installation crew, to the post-installation folks who walked me through the warranty and helped me with rebates, were highly-knowledgeable, patient, and diligent in their work. I felt very taken care of indeed and am extremely satisfied with the new, much more advance system running ever so quietly in my home as I type this.

Nobody wants to pay for a new HVAC or deal with the regular service and maintenance required of these machines, but as life in Texas requires one you may as well have a company composed of quality folks on your side. Austin Air is absolutely that company and I can't recommend them enough.

I would like to know why the indoor blower wheel and housing was inspected during my bi-annual tune-up and has never been inspected before as far as I know. I understand the wheel and housing was filthy and needed to be cleaned. I’m assuming the dust has been on the blower wheel / housing for some time and it just didn’t happen overnight. I don’t recall ever being told of a dirty blower and wheel housing after all the years that Austin Air has been doing my bi-annual tune-ups. I’m just curious as to why this bi-annual inspection determined the need to inspect the blower wheel and housing this time. Why would my blower wheel be filthy. Then I’m told that my fan blower needs to be replaced as well.

I had a great experience with Will from Austin Air Conditioning, even though my AC wasn't a quick fix. He spent the time necessary to figure out a complex issue and didn't give up until he found the root of the problem. He kept me informed every step of the way. The office was also easy to work with for scheduling the initial visit and the upcoming repair. I really appreciate their persistence and expertise.

My home has been having cooling issues since I got it. It was built in 2022 and installed by Austin Air. Not thinking anything of it, I filed warranty claims, twice, due to the system struggling to cool. I inspected and had them repair a large gap and tear in the air handler into the attic, and elected to have Austin Air service it as well.

They appeared to mean well, and put bandaid fixes in place that made me believe things were fine. But it still struggled in the Summer heat. I wanted to blame the builder for not installing radiant barrier.

Well, come 2025 and it stopped being able to cool the house even in 90 weather. Fed up, and now outside warranty, I asked for another company to fully inspect what’s going on. They hooked up their gear and instantly knew that the system was clean and had sufficient refrigerant, but the proper refrigerant was not making it into the coils. Clear as day on their readings. They took the attic unit apart and found the coils to be dirty because of all the rips and attic dust from the previous two repairs. Not only that, but Austin Air had also been covering up a poor install; the gap they kept stuffing with chemicals and tape was huge. “I can’t believe they’ve been gooping this up and not fixing the huge gap”.

Turns out that all along, I had a bad TXV valve and that the handler/coils had a huge gap because the handler was installed 2 inches too low. Spent $1500, now out of warranty, to repair the whole thing and get it evacuated and refilled and performance/pressure tested. The new company also fixed the gap for free by lifting the unit up 2 inches to close the gaping gap and constant leaks.

To add insult to injury, I asked the new company to also inspect the entire duct system and they found glaring quality issues from the install, all across the house. The vents near windows were all installed backwards, with two vents installed on the completely wrong side of rooms (the hottest rooms in the house ofcourse). And Austin Air ran random triple splits off of ducts that were shared with 3 different rooms on more than one occasion. Just an overall extremely low quality install that left us hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

The new company will also be fixing the bad duct work as well, again, out of my own pocket for thousands of dollars, to get my house properly heated and cooled for our growing family.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company to anyone. I have so many neighbors with the same problems who have been screwed over as well.

A bit of rough start, but greatly appreciate Chino and Chuck coming back out to address the repair and fixing things correctly. I appreciate the honesty and professionalism brought to the job. Will update review once completed.

My issue was simple and wasn't really a repair needed. He didn't try to talk me into an expensive repair I didn't need, just the amount for the service call. He took extra time to help educate me on the system, and how to keep it in good working condition in Texas (I just moved here a couple months ago). They've won me over for when there is a serious issue going forward.

This young man was superbly professional and respectful. Communicated with me very well in the beginning, during and at end of visit. Because of the tone of his voice on the 1st phone call with him, I was expecting a much older person. It was a great experience for me with this young man. Wish they were all as efficient as him! I wish him the best in the future.

The success or failure of a service call comes down to the technician. Thomas was top notch - professional, experienced, polite, and very informative about the unit. I Highly recommend!
