Sketchy company!

We asked to get a quote on hanging a chandelier from a tall vaulted ceiling. Nothing else, as we have a neighbor electrician who does our small jobs.

The electrician who came out prodded at every little thing he could find, clearly looking for extra work to suggest. I asked why he needed to see both the main and sub panels, told me it was “company policy for their safety”. No, you wanted to see if anything was wrong so you could charge for more work. I’ve never had a company demand that for a simple job, and the two companies I got other quotes from had no such “safety” requirement. How very unsafe of them!

I had scheduled my electrician neighbor to come over an hour later to troubleshoot a ceiling fan, but of course the Mr. Electric tech was still there, >60 minutes just to get a simple quote. As soon as he saw my neighbor, he frantically “had to make a phone call” out of nowhere. He returned and told me he had to leave immediately and that they would not be providing me a quote anymore. What??? Apparently another contractor coming over for a separate job is the garlic to their vampire money sucking operation.

I politely asked that his manager give me a call to better explain the situation. He called me that afternoon and we discussed the situation and company policies, and the manager promised me he would get back to me with a quote. He never did!

I received a 2400 estimate and refused service. I tried another electrician who talked me through several possible solutions. I was able to fix the issue with a simple battery change and no charge for a 20 minute conversation. The services recommended for 2400 wouldn't have even fixed the issue. Single women beware and get second opinions if something seems off.

Had Mr. Electric change out 2 electrical panels, 2 smoke detectors, 2 electrical sockets and 2 light switches. They added an additional socket for our tankless water heater. They also did a check in each room of the circuitry. They also installed our Ring doorbell. Jon and Hunter were extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They explained everything completely and were very fast. They cleaned up completely upon finishing all the jobs. We have used Mr. Electric before and will continue to use them if we need any electrical work in the future. Thank you Jon, Hunter and Mr. Electric.

The tech was on site for about an hour to replace 5 smoke detectors. They charged us $910.00. Mr. Electric made our "Do Not Use Again" list of contractors due to unreasonable pricing.

10/10/2025 update: Mr. Electric honored our request for a 50% refund after an escalation of the pricing issue. We were ultimately charged $455 for the installation. It's our hope the feedback we provided will create real change in the company's pricing policy.

I came home from a trip and discovered some lights not working and breaker tripping. They came out the next day and the technician was on time and very honest about all the issues he found and what they recommend. He was not pushy and up front of what needed to do to be up to code, since there was some new things since house was built. He also did a full house inspection to make sure nothing else was affected. He even went out of his way to help put up some lights for me while he was there since that was part of the problem. This was my first time using them, recommended from a neighbor. I highly recommend this company and will continue to use them. Thank you Mr. Electric!

Can't say enough about Roy and his crew. They adhere strictly to all codes and will not cut corners. All of the technicians are knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. Jake and Tyler arrived on time. They were able to problem solve and put in an outlet in a tricky situation. They were professional, polite and cleaned up once done. I highly recommend!

Two stars because Ray fixed the simple wiring of the light switch correctly and promptly. Only two stars because their price for initial visit was significantly high for the area. When I politely pointed it out, I received a dismissive response in disrespectful tone. They said that they told me the cost over the phone. But I have no recollection of it. I should have taken it in writing. Now I know who not to call when I need help on electrical work.

Had a pretty big list of items that needed work from purchasing an older house. Had the team out over 3 days and they were fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
