Gardenville is close by, and I needed 6 cubic yards of soil for a new raised bed. I shopped around and visited several soil sources, and all were reasonably similar. The superior soil seemed to be a viable option, as far as appearing to be well draining and the listed components were adequate.

So the first time I attempted to get someone to help me the salesperson (the young lady with the British accent) stood around chatting for 15-20 minutes with someone else. Then to be sure my dump site for the soil would be adequate I showed her pictures, and she was unsure. So she supposedly texted the pics to the delivery guy and would get back to me with his response. I waited for a week and received no contact from gardenville.

Now back to this initial visit. My wife picked out a pair of garden gloves for my young daughter, and after the girl scanned them she went on about how small her hands were and wondered if the child size gloves would fit, at which point she decided to try on the pair we were purchasing. It seems she should concern herself with playtime on her own time, and do her job during business hours.

So after not hearing back from Gardenville for a week we decided to go back out because the soil did seem to be the best at a somewhat, if slightly higher, comparable price. This time the sale went better, after the counter clerk (different young lady) got someone else to verify that the dump truck load of soil would fit where I wanted it. The soil delivery was set for the following Monday morning.

We waited for several hours for the soil that Monday morning so I called and the delivery had been scheduled for the wrong Monday ( a week later). The person I spoke to on the phone blamed this on the young woman who had taken the order.

Well they did finally get our soil delivered, and after approximately 4.5 hours I had it in the back yard via wheelbarrow and shovel. Then a few hours after that my vegetables were planted. Now a couple of months later we have had to replace dead and dying plants, and the rest were mostly yellow with a great deal of leaf drop. After side dressing the plants with quality compost (from another, all around better vendor) the garden is finally looking up. I have extensive experience in growing many different varieties of plants including many, many vegetables. This soil is a great let down especially after spending over $400 dollars for it. At first planting the nutrient levels should have been great for our vegetables, going by Gardenville's claimed soil components. We will not be using Gardenville again.

My go to for material, alway quick service and a few times I’ve called and got same day delivery! They have dirt, rock, sand, mulch, road base and a lot more.

They need to add to their hours of operation when they stop accepting brush. It's 4pm. We came in at 4:30 since hours of operarion says 5pm and was received in a rude manner acting like we were foolish for walking in. No need for all that

They are polite, efficient and friendly. My plants love the living mulch. Just wish all the customers would wear masks and touchless payment was available in this time of covid.

This is a well organized, well informed, and very friendly place. In the last few years we have had nothing but excellent service and help. The material is better than other places. The prices are also great.

Staff was professional and met me at the door. The quality of their mulch is much much better than Morris landscaping company.

Made a delivery there’s no signs telling drivers where to go no signs where to park with some signs it would be a lot easier #your-own-rules-broken

It has been a long time since I have been to Gardenville. They are not carrying nearly as much inventory inside the store as they use to. In fact, I had to go elsewhere to get molasses- a staple of organic landscaping. People were helpful though!

I am a huge fan of gardenville and in the Starcrest location multiple times every week. I have been to this location a few times and every time I regret it. The staff is horrible. They waste your time and treat you badly. Don’t expect to get any help. I would honestly rather go to any other store this one.

Customer service was great the lady at the rigister was very nice and curtious but the product was disaster. Bought a yard of their compost and it had a bunch of glass and plastic in it. This is the second time this year that I've bought their compost and was very disappointed with all the glass and plastic in it. I feel like I'm going to contaminate my beautiful garden soil. It's very upsetting. Back in the 90s GardenVill had the best compost. Guess I will have to look for another alternative place to buy organic compost.

Built an addition to my garden and sourced a few cubic yards of their "Superior Soil". Looked great at the center but was I wrong.

I'm not a professional gardener but I'm not familiar with plant nutritional needs in terms of broken glass. Maybe my amateur green thumb is showing but it seems very wrong to mix that into soil for consumer garden use.

It's everywhere. Green, clear and amber shards of broken glass.

Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy getting cut by random broken glass shards while tending your garden.

Great staff, called to have dirt delivery and they were super helpful and quick to deliver my dirt (same day). It happened to be the windiest day of the year. The delivery driver went above and beyond to make sure my dirt didn’t blow away by taking the time to cover the small mountain of dirt with a tarp I left for them. Great group

Too funny but true. Okay they did accomplish the goal for the price point I was looking for. But, it is super confusing when you pull into the property. I drove around for a bit and flagged somebody down and asked him, how does this work? The stranger told me where to find the office. I parked in the middle of the parking lot. Nobody's around. I go into the office and this other guy wakes up from a nap and asked me where I'm parked. He tells me that I have to park in front of another sign before they'll give me my number. They walk back in and get another guy hands me the number and explains that you have to weigh in one direction and way out another direction. No problem. He shows me the camera system that they can see your vehicle and the number on your hood. No problem. And then tells me to drop it off by a white rock after the 3rd telephone pole. Not a problem either just kind of funny. So, I finish unloading and continue up through the loop I drive nice and slow because there's a huge front end loader moving mulch. I go to pass behind him with plenty of room and then all of a sudden he backs up I hit the brakes and put it reverse and back up a little bit but no he's not done keeps coming towards me. So I back up some more and then finally he pulls forward. Those tires would have crushed my truck. Just be careful hopefully you'll find this information helpful.

Be careful when purchasing Eco thrive. I bought 7 and 1/2 yards from this place and found broken glass and hard broken hard plastic. Some glass was very small, and some were the size of a nickel. It was supper bad, but it was very noticeable. I also found rocks but wasn't too upset by that.

Everyone over the phone and in person was friendly and kind. I will be back for other products, just nothing in bulk anymore.

Nice selection of gravel and soils. Good prices too. Delivery available which is a plus. They also have lists of available local landscapers. Always enjoy going to GardenVille. Use the Evans Road access to avoid a 3/4 mile drive from their main entrance.
