Pepcal is the only AC company I trust. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years, and they’ve always come through. Just recently, our AC hit 91 degrees at night. I called the next morning, and they scheduled a same-day visit. They didn’t have the part that evening, but they returned the very next day and fixed everything quickly and efficiently. Their service is fast, reliable, and they truly care about their customers. Highly recommend Pepcal to anyone needing HVAC help!

Save yourself the headache and RUN from Pepcal — especially if you’re unlucky enough to get Jose C.

We originally called because our AC couldn’t get below 78° in the middle of July (even with the thermostat set to 68°). The outside unit’s fan clearly wasn’t kicking on — something we even told Jose C up front. He brushed off the tip like we were idiots.

He was at our house for maybe 10 minutes, lazily poked around, and told us everything was normal, blaming a “dirty filter” and confidently saying not to worry unless temps passed 80° — as if 78° inside your own home while the AC is supposedly “working” is acceptable. He charged us $89, changed a filter, and left.

Fast forward two miserable weeks of sweating at night with temps hitting 88° upstairs… we called another company for a second opinion. That tech walked right up to the unit and within seconds said: “your fan isn’t turning on.” Fixed it in 10 minutes flat — exactly what we told Pepcal in the first place.

And no — I’m not an HVAC tech. I’m just someone with common sense — something Jose C clearly lacks. Paying Pepcal $89 for this guy to ignore the obvious and “diagnose” a dirty filter is a joke.

Moral of the story: You’d genuinely have better odds of winning the lottery than having Jose C fix your HVAC issue correctly. Do yourself a favor — skip Pepcal and hire literally anyone else.

Darrin worked in my unit today and much more was needed than I thought but he went through every bit of it with me and showed me exactly what needed to be to be done and why. ( it was pretty bad in there) Once I approved it he got the work done quickly and was very professional. Would definitely recommend

This is a rave review! Great company and great owner. Had to replace a whole AC system and choose Pepcal Heating & Air LLC for their sense of integrity. Had some issues and bugs with setting up the system but Jose and his team were dedicated and returned a couple of times to insure it was perfect and replace a faulty thermostat and upgrade a problematic previous install design. Pepcal is my new HVAC company that I will be using them to maintain my heating and cooling. Thanks!

This is our second time using Pepcal and they have been great each time. We needed a mini split installed so we called Jose and he came out quickly and gave us a very reasonable bid. They were out there the very next day and worked all day in the 100 degree heat to make sure it was installed correctly. We will continue to use Pepcal for all our AC needs.

I just want to say they are my go to for air conditioning! 100% Jose C. Was the technician but the honest and integrity reflected alot. On the overall company and its employees! I 100% will give these guys my business and will recommend to everyone! Backstory is have a 5yr old unit that developed a small leak. But before hand i had two different companies. "We fix it" and another. One was a no show and the other didn't resolve and up charging "guessing". But these guys here! He came in professional and set up and gave a diagnostic of the system. Pin pointed the issue and fixed it. Something the other two companies could not and Pepcal got it within 5 min! But what I respect is they didn't try to upsale or lie. They gave me a direct this is whats wrong and these are your options and recommendations. Made me feel as if they actually cared about my wallet and time. I felt valued as a customer not just to get ripped off as most havoc companies do. But Pepcal 100% did troubleshooting and did right! The pricing is fair and honest work! I cant say enough I am great full to have got my work done by these guys!

Called Pepcal late on a Thursday on recommendation from a friend. Jose took the call and told me they could get me in the schedule the next day. Darrin, the tech, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and cared about getting the job done correctly. He kept me informed of everything that he was doing at all times. The Pepcal team did a great job installing my 2 new HVAC units. They were professional and responsive to my initial inquiry, provided organized and clear estimates, and delivered on their installation the next day. I highly recommend them for HVAC service or replacements.

Posting in regards to the one-star review left by Johnny Sandoval and the technician Jose C. who did not fix our AC. We are renters of the home that Jose was called out to service, which may be why he had no record of Johnny. But he should have record of the address. The property management company is the one who selected Pepcal Heating & Air for service, this was not of our choice.
When I submitted the service request, I submitted a picture of the fan actually not running. It would intermittently run. So there was obviously something wrong with the system. Jose only changed out the attic filter, which we provided, and did not fix the issue. He charged the property management company $89 for the call, who then passed the charges onto us.
The fan still was not running right after he left. We were not informed of any 7-day diagnostics fee warranty, or we would have requested they come back out.
Just two weeks later the fan completely goes out, leaving a family of 8, with 5 being children under age 10, in temperatures reaching 90° in the home. We did resort to going to a hotel for two nights, as a result.
We submitted another service request through our residence portal. They sent a different company out and the gentleman diagnosed the system within minutes and fixed the AC immediately.
The frustration of having our family suffer in heat in mid-summer could have been resolved had the first technician bothered to care and do his job properly. We could have avoided being in very high uncomfortable temperatures in the home, the $89 service fee, and hotel room charges, if not for the lack of knowledge, care, and proper service from the first technician, Jose, Pepcal’s service technician. Hence the reason for the 1-Star.
