Updated for recent visits - we recently have had Douglas Mechanical come out several times for our AC and each time Michael came out, he always did an excellent job. From finding the right diagnosis to fixing the issue, he is extremely thorough, knowledgeable and always makes it right. Excellent customer service! Most of all, he's honest and thorough with his work. We've been using Douglas Mechanical through our home warranty for many years now and have had some of their other techs come out who did not deliver the same customer service and level of expertise as Michael. He is by far the best tech that we've met so far on their team and we will definitely be requesting him for any future visits. Thank you Michael for always doing a great job!

Old review from a year ago - Douglas Mechanical’s technicians all seem to know their trade. From the technician who came out to diagnose the issue to the 2 technicians who came out to install the new air handler that was needed, they were extremely patient and answered all of my questions and helped me to understand how my ac unit works. Huge kudos to Byron and Otto for not only doing a great job, but also to Otto for taking the time to doing an amazing job reconnecting the air duct (something all other techs in the past never did a good job of) and also to Byron for choosing to come back out on a warmer day to make sure the Freon level was accurate when the temperature was warmer (it was too cool to get accurate readings on the day of the install). Thank you so much Byron for making sure everything was installed accurately and also for going the extra mile and the excellent customer service! We truly appreciate Douglas Mechanical and their technicians for their expertise and dedication to excellence! Thank you, thank you!

Well my mother called them yesterday because their A/C went out. She lives in Conroe. They assured her that someone would be out by 8pm yesterday evening. No one ever showed up. So now, my elderly mother who has a very hard time getting around is sitting in a house that is 90 degrees. Now they say they will be out today between 12-4. She can't go anywhere. She doesn't drive. Plus she has to wait for these yahoo's to show up(if they do)

Requested a pre-season tune up from my home warranty company on 4/13 they couldn't get me scheduled until 5/1. Then the day before, they call and say they can't get me in until 5/21. If they can't even get their schedule right, and make it right with me, I wouldn't trust them to do anything with my A/C. Just imagine if they had to warranty their work!

Edit: They suggested that I call and ask for a manager to get scheduled sooner, instead I rescheduled with a company called Phil's Good A/C and Heating and they will be coming out tomorrow. It seems strange that I have to jump through hoops with Douglas Mechanical to get an appointment when the girl I spoke to told me there was nothing she could do and their earliest was 5/21. Be weary of these people!

We had a full replacement of our AC system a few weeks ago. Since the full replacement, our system has broken three times, leaving us without air conditioning for days, at this point weeks, during summer in Texas. Douglas Mechanical sent out technicians three times who did not have the right equipment to fix the system they had just installed with over 24 hours between each visit. Each technician told us they were not informed they needed equipment for the new system and did not have it on their truck. We had to project manage the entire repair process, calling Douglas Mechanical multiple times to make sure their technicians would have the right equipment, and each time they sent out technicians with the wrong equipment and took over a day to send someone new out. The dispatchers do not elevate to supervisors nor do they ensure the technicians they’re dispatching have the tools for the job, and there’s no communication between technicians themselves, so it’s really not clear who’s managing the operation. After each mistake, Douglas Mechanical did not prioritize fixing their own errors. Then a week later, the system broke again. They also tried to invoice hundreds of dollars to repair a system that’s still under warranty.

Air conditioner install failed. The first unit blew a fitting to a compressor, not their fault. However, after the install crew and later their service tech could not get the 2nd new working unit to function, they defaulted that I needed a new zone board and quoted $975 to replace it. The zone board was working fine prior to the new install. The service tech told me that technology in the new A/Cs doesn't always communicate with older existing technology. Something didn't seem right. I received a referral from a friend and called Mosqueda Cooling and Heating. They came out the next day. Their tech changed a setting on the current zone board in 5 minutes and the unit functions fine throughout our home. He said the install crew did not charge the unit to manufacturer specs and added freon to the system. $330 later as a second opinion and our unit is still working great to multiple zones. Mosqueda tech explained that the new A/C is not a communicating A/C and only does what it is told. One way communication.

This is the best A/C company in the greater Houston area!!! They are very responsive, extremely knowledgeable and their technicians are very skilled and highly professional.

My A/C stopped working, so we started looking around for a reputable company for the repair. We discovered Douglas Mechanical here on Google. Reached out to them and they had a tech on site the same day, and it was on a Sunday!!! He was able to diagnose the issue, and provided several options, from just the most basic repair, to the benefits of replacing additional worn components. Given the age of the system, we opted to replace the entire unit. Also got a fantastic price as well! Furthermore, they offer an excellent warranty on both parts and labor.

After closing the deal, they had an installer crew here the very next day. The team installed the entire system, and did a great job.

There are three things I want when searching for a good A/C company: Quality, good customer service, and good product offering. This company sets the bar on all three!

The AC technician Dennis was very personable and knowledgeable. He did a great job. Douglas Mechanical is admittedly on the pricy side, but they always deliver.

Awful company. Stay away unless you don’t mind waiting two weeks to have an AC unit repaired. They just keep saying we have policies in place and there’s several departments that have to their part. You know my issue. Order the part and give me an eta. It’s that simple.

Update: My home warranty approved the parts needed 3 days ago. When I called 2 days ago to ask what’s the next step, I was told the parts were ordered. I then asked for an eta on shipping. Was told they have no idea. They explained there’s a shortage (even tho the part was ordered 🤦🏼‍♂️). Then blamed not having enough workers to do the job. I left this review after I called my home warranty 2 days ago and they said the part was ordered by Douglas Mechanical and will take 2-4 days. After calling to complain, Douglas Mechanical called me 1 day ago and said the part is in and they can come out next day. Now, they are blaming their own coworker for leaving state lines to deal with a family issue and apologized someone else didn’t take over the case and get the parts and info to me.

So yeah, the owner’s comment on my post is a lie. I would NOT recommend this company after failed communication and lies.

Look how they left the cables when the installed the new motor. Thanks Douglas Mechanical for a terrible experience.

Douglas Mechanical is the company you want for your AC, especially if you use home warranty. We have used them multiple times through AHS and we always make sure to request them for all our AC services. Every single tech that has come out has been excellent in both diagnosing and also fixing the problem. Special thanks to Michael and Marco, who were the ones who came out recently. This time, our AC kept having new issues arise so Jared, the owner, helped to explain the 2 different options that we had regarding fixing and replacing the entire unit, and since he worked on getting us the best price he could, we went ahead with replacing our entire unit and I am so happy that we did! They honored their word with the quote (very honest company!) and their installation job was top notch (they made sure everything was done right, for example, using mastic to make sure everything is sealed 100% and also making sure the drain pan was level-the previous one they removed was not). This company definitely goes above and beyond, highly recommend Douglas Mechanical for all your AC needs!

Fast service and quality equipment! They were in and out in a fraction of the estimated time. Would hire these guys any day of the week moving forward!

The only complaint is that Joe Esparza forgot to dust off the debris from the attic, which left some on the carpet. My tenant was not happy about this, but I’m sure he won’t make the same mistake again. Aside from that, he performed the job well. Thank you.

Jonathan came out to do a maintenance check of my AC unit and repair an AC drain line clog. He offered excellent advice and my unit is working great in preparation of the spring Texas heat. Jonathan represented Douglas Mechanical in a great way through is explanations of what maintenance while not being pushy like some HVAC providers. It looks like it may be a hot summer and thanks to this tuneup from Douglas Mechanical I feel I’m in good shape for it.
