Erika with By Design Interiors is so talented and a true visionary! I have worked with her several times over the years, most notably during the rebuilding of our home after Hurricane Harvey. From start to finish, she took a huge burden off our shoulders and made the process so stress-free!...from picking paint colors, tile, bath fixtures, etc., to designing the the kitchen and bathroom, to choosing fabrics for custom furniture and accessories to beautify our home again. Erika always puts her client first, quick to respond to any text or email almost anytime, night or day. She is truly an artist! We had a wonderful experience working with Ayca on several selections for our new home. Ayca is technically gifted, has incredible style and is a master of solving design challenges. We had a few last minute on site issues that arose during the project which can be very stressful. Ayca always found the perfect solution which actually enhanced the overall aesthetic. She is also extremely versatile in her design approach which is evident in the extensive portfolio that she has built. Her suggestions were always elegant, timeless, and unique. I would recommend Ayca without any reservation! She is an absolute star!!

My wife and I were building a new house in The Woodlands. We both agreed that design is not one of our strengths. We had interviewed several designers and design firms. Throughout this interview process By Design and Ashton kept coming out on top of the design firms.

I have always heard the design stories that accompany building a house. We were not sure what we would be getting into over the next 12 months, especially as we were still in Dallas through the whole build process. Let me tell you, Ashton made the whole process as easy as it could be.

First off, Ashton is as easy to get along with as anybody I have ever met. Ashton listened to what we had to say about where we thought the house should go in terms of our likes and dislikes. Sure we had plenty of questions and probably a few bad design ideas, but Ashton explained how she saw things, and her philosophy of our house. It was clear that this was not her first rodeo.

Ashton worked seamlessly with our builder, Flair. She had all of the timelines scheduled out over the course of the build. We scheduled days that we could come down from Dallas and make all of our selections. We were dreading the first selection meeting, but it was a breeze. We went from item to item and made our choices without any problems. Had Ashton not been there, we would probably still be making choices today.

Fast forward to 11 months in the project. This is where the rubber met the road. Sure we had made all of the choices, but how would they look together was the question. It was beyond fantastic. We did not regret one fixture, drawer pull, color of flooring, quartz pattern or anything in the house. It all works so well together. From where the light switches and outlets went, to the grout color, Ashton, helped in making the choice.

There was never a time that Ashton was too busy to talk about something. As we were not there, she would go to the house and make sure it was done correctly. As well if you want value, By Design is priced very fairly. In fact we were amazed at the quantity of time we received during this project.

We have been in our house now for close to 6 months. I cannot tell you how much we love it. I truly believe that without Ashton and By Design the house would not have come out as well as it did. Thank you Ashton and By Design.

We have a lot of experience using designers on several houses over the years. Our experience with Jessica of By Design Interiors is by far been our best experience. She is wonderful to deal with, she has provided incredible advice, she has listened to our wants and needs, and has been our partner through the entire process. I could not recommend her more we would never use anyone else

Erika is amazing! She helped make our selection process easy for our custom built house. She was with us every step of the way… from selecting flooring, to lighting, to cabinet hardware. She is easy to work with, patient and listened to us. She has great sense of color, texture and space. I would highly recommend her.

Erika Barczak was the designer we used for the year long project of building our new home. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! She had the skill set to help us review the house plans presented by the architect and make changes and additions when necessary. She was very instrumental in guiding us through the arduous process of selecting all of our color schemes, tiles, carpet, plumbing, appliances and fixtures. After all of the “design” portion was complete, we had no idea how she would be when it came to the actual decorating process. We needn’t and have been concerned at all! She helped us so much with placement of furnishings and accessories and proved to have a real knack for that part of the process as well. Erika is a complete professional with a lot of talent and we would not hesitate to highly recommend her to others.

When we were interviewing designers for our new home, we were kind of at a lost, then we had our meeting with Peggy. We left that meeting knowing we found who we wanted to work on our dream home, and from the very beginning her and Michala were extremely pleasant, professional, and creative. They not only opened our eyes to new and exciting ways to decorate our home but really listened to our vison of what we wanted and put it all together. We were especially impressed that such artistic minded people could also be so organized and efficient as well. We would absolutely recommend By Design Interiors to anyone that is in need for a professional designing service.

By Design, Interiors would get a 10-star review if that was an option! I have been working with Erika for almost 10 years. She’s absolutely amazing and I couldn’t be any happier with her designs. Ashton with By Design Interiors was such a tremendous help with my kitchen remodel. I was looking for help selecting my slab, paint colors, finishes, and working on my layout on a tight timeline with a contractor we had already selected and she delivered perfectly. We get so many complements on our kitchen and there is no way I could have brought the vision to life with Ashton. Highly recommend Ashton, but the entire By Design team was friendly and responsive from start to finish!

We consulted with Erika at By Design Interiors on a remodel project to our kitchen, living room, breakfast room, and first floor flooring. She was a pleasure to work with and provided my wife and I with numerous options and tips that we were not aware of. She presented product suggestions that truly were the icing on the cake to the project. She helped us tweak the paint colors we had originally picked out to achieve the look that we wanted. We are thrilled with the end product, and we are so glad we called in Erika. Her expertise gave us peace of mind regarding the numerous remodel choices. We will definitely ask for her help again in the future.

When we decided to build our dream house, the architect recommended we hire By Design Interiors and we did. It was the best decision we made! Erika guided every aspect of the project from blueprints to completion. She worked directly with our architect on the home's interior and exterior design, guided all key decisions during construction - electrical walks, plumbing walk, cabinet design etc. She made the selections process hassle free and stress free. When issues arose on the job site, she worked directly with our builder to make adjustments. Working with her helped us avoid costly mistakes. She was fantastic to work with on all selections and the furnishing, artwork, etc. too. Our dream house is now complete and it turned out far better than we ever imagined thanks to Erika. Our builder also said he had never worked with a designer as professional and competent as her.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience working with By Design Interiors Inc's designer, Erika Barczak. Determining the best color schemes and tile combinations is not my strong suit. I could not have been able to make the decisions I did without Erika's help and suggestions. She's incredible! She also helped me determine how best to setup my closet, suggested thoughts on the layout of my outdoor kitchen and decorated after I moved in. My house is amazing and I can't thank Erika enough.

Peggy has been remodeling our home room by room for 12 years. It has been a great experience. Peggy has a gifted eye for design, scale and color. We just completed my last room, and my home is timeless and magazine beautiful. Peggy has created a style that is not only beautiful but comfortable as well. Her experience and wisdom have saved me many costly mistakes. She really understands not only textiles and lighting but many, many more products involved in remodeling. Peggy is honest and does things right. She has my back and has helped me coordinate with my contractors to get the design correct. I’m thankful that she has been able to help me improve my home and make it so beautiful.

I used Ashton for a small interior design project and when my mom decided to purchase a home in Houston referred Ashton for a remodel project. Right after the remodel project was finished a pipe burst in the freeze and flooded the master bath and kitchen and garage below. A week later my mom was diagnosed with cancer and Ashton and her contractor Raul took over the project while my mom received treatment in her home state. Well over 4 months later the project was not complete and my mom calls to tell me Raul keeps finding more and more issues at the house and keeps asking for more money. At this point my husband and I took over the project as my mom’s physical and mental state were not well. (Important to note we are also in the middle of getting her diagnosed with dementia) Despite being told not to contact her Raul continues to reach out to my mom asking for a couple more thousand dollars here and there, always with the same line “I’m a good Christian man, I run missions, I need to pay my crew so they can eat”. He then starts insisting the project is complete and needs the rest of the money even though there was construction dust everywhere, light and plug plates not installed, workman materials still in the home, etc. I start showing up to the home unannounced, I found a ton of job material from another site stored in my mothers home and a crew of 5 after Derecho storm hanging out in her home that still had power while most if the city did not. When I confronted Raul about this he told me my mom had given him permission to allow his men and materials to be at her home. Why are you asking an elderly woman to store things at her home?!?! After pulling teeth the project was finished and I was ready to put this terrible experience in my review window.
Fast forward 6 months later my mom’s fridge breaker won’t stop switching off. I hired an electrician to come out and was told every single breaker was reading over 100 degrees above permitted levels and all the outlets in the completely remodeled kitchen were installed incorrectly, and it’s a miracle the whole house hasn’t gone up in flames. $12k later I reached out to Ashton wondering what the heck is going on. I’m informed that I was scammed by my electrician I should have called Raul, Raul said it is totally normal for the electrical box to read that hot because it’s hot outside. I reached out to Raul and am told I have no idea what I’m talking about and he completed the job correctly, only a few breakers needed to be replaced even though all of the drywall, kitchen cabinets and flooring had to be replaced along the same wall as the breakers because the water damage was so bad. (The pipe that burst was above the breaker box in the garage on the second level) How is it possible that you had to replace all the drywall in the garage because the water damage was so bad but the breaker box attached to the drywall was ok? I tried to write a bad review for Raul the contractor but I cant seem to find his business anywhere on google. Is he even a licensed contractor? Is the electrician they used licensed? Ashton is fully backing her contractor saying he’s highly trustworthy and will only communicate via txt. I would love to gain the information on the contractor Raul’s business to write him a bad review but since Ashton refuses to talk to me via phone and I refuse to discuss such a serious issue over txt, the bad review landed here. At best Ashton has no idea what I going on at her job sites, at worst she’s involved in whatever funny business the contractor is pulling. So many other negative specific things I could write but this review is already excessively long

I'm so happy with our pool. It was such a smooth process that I still can't believe we never met an obstacle. If you're looking for an efficient, knowledgeable, friendly company to make your backyard gorgeous, Ocean Blue is your best bet!

We started construction in October of 2017 and were impressed with every stage of the process. Teams were onsite when they said they would be. Follow up was awesome and the quality is unsurpassed. We didn’t get other bids because we knew who we were dealing with and know their integrity. We recommended OBPI to 2 other close friends and they are as satisfied as we are! Thank you!

Amazing experience with installation of pool. Very professional and friendly team behind the scenes always on point when it came to getting all the workers there on time. Kept me up to date on every detail. They do beautiful work and went above and beyond my expectations. They came highly recommended in my area and i can add to that recommendation. I had no issues personally but if i did i know i can call them and they would do what that needed to do to fix it.

If you’re building a pool this is the company to use. From start to finish this team was very professional. They’re not done even when the project is completed. You’re a customer for life. The owner is a straight shooter and his team goes above and beyond. Extremely satisfied with our pool and experience.

I'm frustrated and disappointed to say I would not recommend Ocean Blue Pools. We started the pool building process in March 2014. After gunite was shot, we had no work in our yard for 3 weeks. After many phone calls and emails, work finally resumed. However, after work restarted we did not have good communication with the company. Subcontractors did not show up when scheduled and had to redo many steps of the process. In Aug 2014, we are still dealing with warranty calls. Even after speaking with the owner, we are not getting the work completed correctly or in a timely manner. No one from Ocean Blue even came out to look at these issues before or after warranty work was completed incorrectly. We are beyond frustrated and would not recommend this company.

We've had a great experience with Ocean Blue Pools. Baron and his team have been patient with us from day one. They redesigned our backyard countless times and helped navigate the confusing rules to get approval from our HOA. The team was quick once we broke ground and there every step of the process.
