This store is great, I shop here several times a week. But good lord does their installation service suck. Multiple reschedules, no-shows, no call backs. Save yourself some stress and go direct to a contractor.

Bought carpet and we are going on the 5th month to get it installed properly. On the first install Home Depot measured the room wrong. When the installer came they discovered this half way through installing the carpet. They left the wrong size carpet uninstalled laying around my home. In addition they left exposed carpet tack around most of my lower level making it unusable. They left it like this for roughly a month. I had to take numerous steps to have the Home Depot staff take action or try to expedite the repair that was a very real danger to my two young children. When the carpet was installed, the installers told me because of the carpet type (not a cheap berber) the seams may be more noticeable. He asked me to wait a 3 to 4 weeks to allow the seam to relax. I did, it never relaxed and it basically looked like two pieces of carpet pushed together. Home Depot never sent anyone to check the quality of the work. I was told by the installing company to call them. They gave me this big sheet of instructions etc. When I called them to come to fix the seam they did come back out and gave it another try. I applaud the effort but the end result was worse than before. Having now been in the process of having to move my furniture numerous times, to not be able to finish the home improvement project and the numerous days I had to take out of my schedule to get 500 ft of carpet installed I was less than happy. I went to Home Depot to see about my options for a full refund. Home Depot said I should have contacted them the first time... they insisted the could get the "good installer" to come take a look at it. I agreed. I try to be fair. The head installer came and looked at my carpet. He found obvious errors with the install and said he would get with the initial installer to see what he had done and then he would get back to me with the options how to repair it or replace it. I waited 2 weeks. I then had to call the installer company to see what was the progress. They informed me an a new carpet was ordered and coming. Shocked again because absolutely no effort was made by Home Depot or the vendor to contact me to keep me in the loop.
At every step of the process I had to make extra effort and spend extra time to get the action taken on an improper install, remediation of the poor work and I had to be the quality assurance person. I had to go out of my way to research if the install was in fact poor or if the install I had was done the best possible. I thought that by hiring an contracting services through Home Depot that I would get a highly qualified vendor and I would get the support of Home Depot to be sure it got done right. None of that happened.
Home Depot has compensated me greatly to make this right. For the most part I got the carpet at nearly at 50% discount. In truth I don't care... the discount does not compensate me for the danger they put my kids in and did not show any care about, it did not compensate me for numerous days I had to spend getting the carpet installed. Without any exaggeration I have had to spend a solid week of my time getting the carpet installed or communicating with Home Depot and escalating the issue to get remediation. In addition it does not relieve any of the mental frustration of being willing to pay top dollar to get the job done and then working for nearly 5 months to have 500 ft of carpet installed.

I love the store on Fort Union. It's maintained & always great help. But I ordered a new refrigerator 2 months ago, & when it came, it leaked. Said they'd send a replacement in another 10 days...never called with a delivery date or time. The credit account was charging late fees for a $2,000 appliance that I didn't even have yet.
I used this store to finish a new basement, etc. But I wouldn't order another major appliance! -
Started by asking for some help with drywall repairs on an older home that expanded into an unplanned plumbing job. They did a really nice job of both and were very capable, particular and conscientious. I won’t hesitate to call them again if needed.

We hired Salt Valley to redo our bathroom. They do beautiful work. The tile we chose was complicated and it turned out perfect. We had them custom design and build a bathroom vanity that is just what we asked for. I would recommend them to anyone.

Craig did some remodeling of the lights in my family room. Replaced two incandescent light fixtures with eight LED can lights. Fantastic work. Very professional. Highly recommend.

If you own an older home and are looking to preserve and restore, I highly recommend them. In addition to professional and timely communication, they took time to help restore our home's exterior appearance. Keeping the original look while upgrading and fixing older problems that had been slapped together - including wood soffit restoration and painting, roofline work to prevent water damage, and restoring a wooden pillar on our back patio. No shortcuts here. Done right the first time. Straightforward communication and flexibility. I highly recommend Salt Valley Homewerx for your contracting needs.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Salt Valley Homewerx did an incredible job finishing my basement and adding a new room. Their attention to detail was outstanding. They went to great lengths to make sure everything matched perfectly with the original design of the home. You would never know it was an addition because it all flows seamlessly. The team was professional, kept everything super clean, and protected the rest of the house from dust. I could not be happier with the result. Truly a five-star experience and I highly recommend them. -

Through the last few years, Craig has done a few different home projects at my home and I am so grateful to have him as a resource! His professionalism and skill deserve 10 stars but Google only allows 5. His work is polished and looks great, in addition to being functional and efficient. I appreciate his attention to detail and the pride takes in his work, even in the smallest projects. I also appreciate how he takes the time to explain the work he’s doing and the reason behind the specific steps he’s taking, so that you know the logic behind his process!

Salt Valley Homewerx just completed work on a new shower for us and we are extremely pleased. We set an appointment and Craig arrived right on time. His bid was reasonable and complete.
Work done included plumbing for new shower control valve, replaced a floor drain, installed new shower light, and new GFI and electrical outlets in the bathroom. I was so pleased with their work inside the house, I had them grind and level areas in my driveway where the concrete had raised. Now, all nice and smooth.
Always great communication of when they would arrive and the status of the job from start to finish. Offered some great suggestions to enhance the outcome. Great attention to detail and getting the job right the first time. No shortcuts. Always left the area vacuumed and swept clean at the end of each day.
I could not be happier with the results and I will use them again. Truly a five-star experience and I highly recommend Salt Valley Homewerx. -
I had a phenomenal experience working with Salt Valley Homewerx on several renovations in my older home. The scope of work included updating baseboards and floor vents, installing a proper dryer vent system, adding bifold doors to an entry closet, and installing drywall to separate a hallway. Every part of the job was done with care, precision, and professionalism.
Craig was clear and responsive throughout the entire process, always on time when expected, and incredibly transparent with pricing. There were no hidden costs or surprise fees, and the rates were more than fair for the quality of work delivered. Craig was also generous with their time and expertise, offering thoughtful recommendations that respected both my home and my budget.
It can be challenging to renovate an older home, but Craig made the process smooth and stress-free. I couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend Salt Valley Homewerx to anyone looking for reliable, skilled, and trustworthy home renovation work. -
Great company. They were very professional and quick. No BS at all. 10/10 would recommend!

I made an appointment with this company to come out and give a free assessment before performing a mold spore test that would have cost $380.00. The company never showed up. Very unprofessional and a waste of my family’s time.
