Wow! John came to me through Andy and Matt at Cheap Snake (kudos to them, too) when my sewer line from my house to the street was taken over by roots! John was incredibly thorough, professional and knowledgeable...and the best part? He is good folk who was also empathetic to my situation. I have a stone stairway leading to my home and a pretty little garden, and with his 'bursting" method (who knew??)   ensured it would be still in place when done. That was very assuring to me. I also learned much, i could have gone cheaper with lining but with his forever pipe (forgot the technical name), it will last much longer than lining. I consider this an upgrade to my home. If you have an older home with clay pipes it will eventually crack from age or roots. I highly recommend John, he stands by his work, and his crew were good guys, too! Thanks John, I hope I do not need you again lol, but will surely recommend you.

John and his team performed replacement and repair work involving ~100 feet of water line going into my house. Their communication, efficiency and overall work product were top notch! Would highly recommend to anyone needing work done.

We recently had a problem with water running in the house non stop. Called South Hill Group thought I had a major problem. John came and assessed the problem very quickly. The shut off for our outside water was broken and not stopping the water from going through to the yard which was covered in snow so how could we have known. I hired John at the recommendation of my plumber after we found damage to my home's sewer line. Can't recommend him and his team enough - they got started the next day, the work was high quality, and John does a great job explaining every step of what he's doing.

John Tocco and South Hill Group are a treasure. After years of trying and 3 other attempts with contractors to solve my basement water problems, John came in with his crew and fixed the problem.

I watched him do the work and it is clear he knows what he is doing and knows how to trouble shoot and solve the problem where others failed.

Experience. Hard work. Proper equipment and supplies. He excavated with a mini excavator down to the footing. He sealed the foundation with the proper materials, and he found the source of the leak. He redid the piping system of leaders and drainpipes to get the water away from the house.

All for a price that was reasonable for a large crew of hard working pros who do a great job and work hard to get it done without any delays.

If you have any issues with foundation drainage, John and South Hill is the one to call.

Our house came with a DIY sump pump made out of what appeared to be a litter box with no backflow valve or any of the other features that make a sump pump useful. John came to our house and replaced it with a beautiful new system that works perfectly. It looks great, and he attended to our concerns regarding child safety really well.

He is always very responsive and personable. Recently, after we were concerned that someone had ruined out French drain with spray foam, he came over and checked it out right away, even though he had not installed the French drain. We unequivocally recommend his services!

We've used John to switch from septic to sewer service. A very involved process, that went extremely smoothly. John is professional and very compassionate in handling any situation. We recently had a sewage back up as the result of a sewer line that was partially collapsed. We were very nervous about the cost and who to trust. We needed it replaced ASAP and by someone we felt comfortable with. John Tucco with the South Hill Group was recommended by our plumber who we trust. John was friendly and gave us a very fair potential cost breakdown from the best to worst case scenarios that could possibly unfold. He answered all of our questions and concerns in detail before and also while he was excavating. His team was clean, courteous and professional. You can barely tell they were here when they left. We had South Hill Group replace a failing sewer pipe. Working with John Tocco was a pleasure (well, as much of a pleasure as replacing a sewer pipe can be) --- he is an excellent communicator, was very clear about what the different possibilities were and how the process would work, did not try to upsell us on unnecessary things, and then completed the work quickly and with minimal water usage disruption. Highly recommend.
