Water Damage Restoration reviews in Chesapeake, Virginia

I had a broken pipe under my house and a plumber looked at it and said there was sewage that needed to be dried before they could repair the pipe and they would get a company to come out, I didn’t need to do anything. After 3 days I hadn’t heard from anyone so I called the plumber and was told they would contact the cleanup company again. Three days later I called them again and was told they couldn’t get in touch with anyone and maybe I should call. I spoke with someone at the cleanup company they recommended who said he had to check his schedule and get back to me, then I called another cleanup company and was told they would check their schedule and get back to me. Neither one every called. Fifteen (15) days have passed! I talked to my brother and he told me to call ServiceMaster. I called ServiceMaster of the Southside and spoke with Shannon the receptionist who transferred me to Lauren. Lauren got information from me and set the appointment for the morning of the next work day. I set an appointment up with the plumber for the afternoon of the same day. Leslie from ServiceMaster arrived at the scheduled time. She was very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. Leslie went right to work and dried the area. She said after the pipe was repaired ServiceMaster needed to come back and do a muck-out. The plumber didn’t show to repair the pipe. As I waited to get the pipe repaired, Lauren called to check to see if the pipe had been repaired so they could schedule the muck-out. I shared my frustrations about the plumber with her and she showed much concern. Lauren listened patiently to me vent which was above and beyond her job. Three days later, the pipe was fixed and I called and spoke with John who said he was familiar with my case and he would have Lauren set up my appointment. Later that day Dreama called to see if I was satisfied with the services I was receiving from ServiceMaster because she knew I was having problems getting a plumber out. I shared my frustrations with her too about the plumbing company, and she listened & seemed like she genuinely cared. The appointment was set and Gabriel and D came out to do the job, they were also pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. It was a three day job and each day Gabriel came out (with his co-worker) he explained what he was doing and it was such a refreshing experience. After the job was done Lauren and Dreama reached out to me to see if I was satisfied with their services. Yes, everyone I spoke with from Shannon to Dreama, were very diligent in the performance of their job. I would highly recommend ServiceMaster of the Southside to anyone who needs a sewage cleanup and a professional and caring team.

Everyone who worked with me on this project was very professional and respectful. John and James were very helpful and patient. But special note must be given to Leslie! She was a real pro, from the work she provided, to the respect for me and my home. She informed me every step of the way what I could, and should, expect, and she answered any question I had with patience and clarity. She never gave me a pat answer; she would always give it to me straight. She is a rarity in this line of business, and I only hope that this company recognizes the value and the worth of this woman. (Give her a raise..lol)
A heck of a worker, a heck of a person, and a heck of a good job done! -
From start to finish, an Awesome experience. The three employees that came out Leslie, CJ and Leticia were unbelievable. They worked for 6 hours straight and when I say hard, that is exactly what I mean they worked hard from the time they arrived until the time they left demoing floors and ceilings and when they left the place was spotless. I would not hesitate to use ServiceMaster in the future if the need ever arises.

This company is absolutely fantastic! I had nothing short of a great experience with them! We had water damage from a leaking toilet and shower and ServiceMaster came in and cleaned it all up! The techs were professional, knowledgeable, and polite. I honestly couldn’t be more pleased with this company! Definitely keeping them around for future projects!

Hiring servicemaster was the best recommendation I could’ve gotten during this difficult time after my house flooded post water heater leak. The front office is a dream to work with, very responsive, and overall a great team to deal with while going through this stressful event. They were extremely responsive in monitoring our water damage, and were professional in every aspect. Gabe the service tech explained everything to us in a polite and educated manner and made us feel like we were a part of the team and not just a job they had to complete. I was in contact with this company roughly everyday for 2 weeks and every conversation was personable and effective. I cannot recommend this team enough to anyone looking for mitigation services. The front office were some of the kindest people I have spoken to in regards to services performed and I would 100% use this team again and recommend it to anyone.

I want to thank ServiceMaster of the Southside for quickly and effectively taking care of the Soot problem (which seemed to be everywhere) in our house. Deanna thoroughly examined and noted all areas that needed to be addressed. The next morning CC and Ashley showed up on time and immediately began to work on the two worst areas of our home. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable of their job. They were both a pleasure to deal with and made me feel very confident in their work. I would certainly recommend this company.

My ac unit had a sudden clog and overflowed causing water damage to two floors. Lauren in the office was very friendly and informative and got me on the schedule right away. Her demeanor really set me at ease and made me confident that I had selected the right company. Leslie & Dave got out here quickly and went straight to work, while wearing masks of course. It was clear that their priority was fixing and preventing further damage which I really appreciated. Leslie was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroughly. They came back to check the moisture levels daily and they were on time each day. No waiting around like some other companies! In fact I was running late one day and Cheryl and Gabe, who were hear right at the start of my time window, were kind enough to wait a few minutes till I got home. Excellent customer service and great workers! Definitely recommend calling them if you have the unfortunate need for water mitigation.

Service master employees were professional clean. I recommend Them to everyone. I would definitely use them again. I had three different crews come to my house a total of six employees and they all were professional.

This is one of the hardest thing Ive went through in my life but Kam and his team showed up and worked late to make sure the water didn't continue to damage my house. They were fast and efficient, they showed up early the next morning and got back to work. Gabriel came in and really knew his job! He analyzed the situation, made sure I had the correct equipment in place to to speed up the process. With his team’s hard work and dedication they were able to get the crawl space dried, it was a big job but they stayed late to get it done. Kam and Gabriel showed professionalism, answered every questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. They really softened the blow on this nightmare, 10 out of 10 definitely would recommend!

ServiceMaster made dealing with the aftermath of our house fire a lot less difficult than it could have been. They responded quickly, worked with our insurance company seamlessly, cleaned and stored our belongings like they were their own, and helped us retrieve our things on short notice. Ashley was a champ when it came time for us to load up a Uhaul and move our things cross country before our home in VA was restored. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to make our most stressful days easygoing. Thank you Ashley & ServiceMaster!

I want to start this review by saying I have had a lot of contracted workers in my home over the passed few years due to a large addition we have done. Some have been good and some I have had no other choice than to fire (I hated that part)! Needless to say, I was not looking forward to having to have yet another team of people working in my home. However, a large shed fire caused some damage to my home and well, I didn't have a choice.
From the first day when , Deanna came to assess the damage to the final day of cleaning the experience was, unexpectedly, painless for me. Deanna showed up when she said she would and got right to work assessing the home and was even showing me that there was more soot on the walls than I could even see. Within two days of her assessment a team showed up to begin work and on time. They had planned to start in one room of the house but due to my dogs, I asked them to start elsewhere and they agreed without skipping a beat.
I lead them in the house and showed them the area and had a respectful amount of small talk which put me at ease about leaving them downstairs while I went upstairs to work. I would stop every so often and peer downstairs and they were all actively working the entire time. I could hear them chitchatting with each other which allowed me to feel more comfortable because to me that meant they liked each other which leads to better team work!
They let me know when they were leaving for lunch and arrived back shortly yo get back to work. They did an EXCELLENT job and I could tell they cleaned everything from my ceiling to my floors. Literally everything was cleaned, picture frames, baseboards, even the leaves of my fake plants! They left for the day and said they would be back tomorrow.
This second day was when the kitchen and family room was being done. Same as before, on time, gave me the game plan and started working right away. Same as the previous day, they work very well with each other. They moved my furniture with ease and cleaned everything. Even when I went downstairs and chatted with them for about 10 minutes they were working that entire time.
Needless to say, I don't typically do reviews but I felt that this team of women did an excellent job. They were punctual, friendly, and true professionals in their craft. They were all respectful of me. my time, and my home which I can't say for all laborers. Cleaning may seem easy but it isn't when it's done right. It's a lot of work and you have to have a plan to ensure nothing gets missed and these ladies didn't miss a thing.
To Service Master, these woman are a credit to your business and you should hope that all of your employees are as good as the crew that made my house my home again. I don't know what reward system you have for your employees but they need to be shot to the top and should be the model for what punctuality, work ethic, and teamwork look like for your company. I'm certain you would get a ton of positive feedback from your customers.
I hope to never have to call as disaster clean-up / repair company again as the events that lead me to needing on was very scary. However, if I do, I will certainly fight for my insurance company to let me request Service Master as my go to and then within that I would request the following team of women to be the team to complete my work. Starting with Deanna and the team she sent, in no particular order, Keesha Anilao Monds, Ashley Carrol, Sisian Lopez, Matilde and Claudia. I believe the last two are temps but you should change that ASAP. Thank you ladies for making this process easier on me. I greatly appreciate you nd wish all of you the best the future can offer you! -
Hello!
I just want all to know that ServiceMaster Fire Restoration cleaning crew, Deanna, Keisha and the others (Leslie, Drew, Ashley, Gabe and Kelsey)were wonderful! Loved their honesty and fantastic work! I observed them cleaning on their knees, and climbing up high to get in the most difficult areas. They were very punctual!
They were cleaning arduously and seemingly, they were enjoying their work.
In essence, they were not just great cleaners, they were great communicators.
I will recommend them to all of my family and friends.
Thank you❤️ -
We had water damage from a sudden leak and our insurance company recommended ServiceMaster Southside. ServiceMaster sent someone out to look at the damage within a couple of hours after making contact. Their estimate for repairs was very reasonable and the coordination of the repairs went flawlessly. Janette, the Project Coordinator, did an excellent job of communicating and arranging our repairs in a very timely manner. Frencho did our repair and he was AWESOME! He was professional, personable, and did an outstanding job! My husband and I were very satisfied with the work he did. In addition to the quality work, Frencho communicated with us as needed, was very pleasant to work with, did the work in the timeframe estimated, and ensured we were satisfied with the job before leaving. He represents ServiceMaster very well - and at a time when "Good Help" is hard to find for employers, ServiceMaster should be proud to have Frencho on their team!
This was the first experience we've had with ServiceMaster and it was a great one! They will be my first choice if need work of this nature in the future and I would highly recommend them. The whole team is terrific, from Janette (project coordinator), the gentleman that came out to estimate the repair, Savannah (accounting), Dreama (QA), Shannon (customer service), and Frencho (Carpenter). A great team to work with! And most importantly the repair work was flawless! Regarding our water damage, It's like it never even happened! -
Since the onset of the water damage caused by two leaks in my water pipes back in September, I have received stellar service from members of the Service Masters team. From the start I have been continuously kept updated by the production managers, office personnel, demolition team, & contractors. In particular, Lauren, Carrie, Cheryl, Dreama, Chris, Wayne & crew (Matt & John) have always been professional & informative regarding various options regarding repairs, scheduling/rescheduling, & maintenance tips. The contractors were respectful of my personal space, safe in regard to the pandemic, & cleaned up behind themselves. The work they performed was excellent. If I had a concern they were willing to work with me to my satisfaction. I also can't forget how personable, careful, & thorough the Pack Out crew (Keesha, Kim, Michael) were. Steven & "Drew" (Charles) were also great. I can't express how happy the team as a whole have made me! Thanks so much team for your professional attentiveness. You are all AWESOME!

I would like to give the biggest THANK YOU to Mr. Dan and his rock star team for installing new flooring and cabinets in my house after I had water damage. Dan is very professional and gave me excellent advice on the direction my flooring should lay (best decision ever). All of my questions were answered in a timely manner and the communication I’ve experienced with this company is by far the best. It was like having family inside my home (The family you actually don’t mind having over). Everyone was friendly and worked extremely hard to complete their daily tasks. The finished product blew me away, phenomenal results!! I would highly recommend Service Master of the Southside if you’re seeking quality work done right and someone who cares for their customers.

If I could give negative stars I would!
Do not use this company. They lie and they take 4 times the amount of time to "complete" your needed work. They never really complete your work.
The sales manager leads you to believe that they know what they are doing. They do not! they send you messages promising pricing is set and not to expect anymore charges. That's until you get your final invoice and it's 12 grand more than the estimate. No mention from them at anytime that they did More than the estimate and that it will be more. No chance to give you a choice to accept this or not. When you challenge this they demand payment or you will be sent to collections.
Jon Allison the manager treats you like you are nobody. He has zero respect for your house or the work that took place.
Jon became the project Manager after they fired the first Manager. The first time he stepped into the house was after they were "finished" and there was a complaint about the subfloor. when he did arrive he was rude. "it wasn't his house"?!?!?
That's another issue. The craftsmanship is like a 10 year old do the work. The subfloor was put down with no blocking and you could basically step through the sagging uneven flooring. They tore up an entire room that the protocol did not call for. Intentionally so they could take you for more money.
They destroyed the hallway to the entrance of the house leaving scuff marks, dents, holes and old Duck tape residue all over the paint and wood trim. They destroyed the back door trim.
There are many different reasons not to ever use this company and this review could go on forever if I had the time.
They charged to clean items that were actually thrown out! They lie. They cheat. They try to get as much money out of you hoping you won't call them out. And when you do they threaten to send you to collections. If they do this to the common consumer, imagine the fraud they are sending to insurance companies.
This is an awful company and stay away from them at all costs.
Jon Allison and Service Master cannot be trusted.
STAY AWAY! If they show up lock the doors. You would be better off with the problem you have rather than to hire this shady fraudulent company! -
From start to finish, we received excellent service. The Remediation guys, Gabriel, James and Kameron were so kind, caring and professional. Kameron was the one who asked if we were having Service Masters do the repairs. I didn't know that Service Masters did that. After meeting with my Insurance Adjuster, he also said that Service Masters did repairs and he had had several customers use them. We had Rodney Quick. come to give us an estimate. He actually came on my birthday and brought me a balloon. After signing the agreement for an 8 week job, we met with Dan F'at., Project Manager. Work began in early November. Willie and Mike were the workers. Both are congenial, hard working, professionals, who knew their job. They worked well together and I had no concerns that they would do the job right. The running joke was, whenever they did something, they asked how we liked it. My husband would give his approval and they would say, "but what does the boss say (me)?". I also wanted to mention Brandon (and Anthony), who tiled my Master Bathroom. He "worked us in" his schedule to complete my shower. He texted me, daily, to let me know when he would be working. We had other trades come in-Plumbers, Countertop Sales, who blended right in with the workers. Dan was just a text away and was on-site frequently. We highly recommend Service Masters.

I would highly recommend using ServiceMaster. Jessika and Blue along with the rest of the team were all accommodating and helpful to our family during our “mini” job at our house! We will be sure to use them if we are ever in need of any future services!

As a homeowner, it's hard to know when you can trust a company and when you are being taken advantage of. ServiceMaster is a company I trust. David's customer care was extraordinary -- he flexed his schedule for an inspection that worked with my schedule and he offered best practice advice with no benefit to himself. I'm so grateful for the trust I have with this company, which truly wanted the best for me, my family, and my home. In the event of a future concern, they will be my first call.

Susie, Tisha and team were exceptional in taking great care to handle our furniture and belongings with gentle care. They went above and beyond to place everything back and ensuring we were satisfied and didn’t need anything else before they left. They were all friendly and professional. Deanna had excellent communication with us and follow-up on everything to be sure we were happy. I highly recommend ServiceMaster and will use them again if ever the need arises.

My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of having our third Quest piping leak. Time to change the piping and repair the damage from the leak. Enter Service Master. It started with Leslie and team coming to tear up walls and floors that were damaged. We were in great hands with Leslie. She knows her stuff. Then brand new employee, Chase Huddleston, came in as project manager. He was so accommodating and patient. He answered calls and texts promptly. He fixed anything that needed fixing. Brandon and his team of ladies worked quickly to get the drywall and painting done. I hope I never need your services again, but if I do, you’ll be the ones I call. I heartily recommend Service Master.
