eff did a GREAT job - we couldn't be more pleased. Here are just some of the things that impressed us:

-- he gave us the lowest bid of the three we solicited

-- he told us (in November) that he would do the project in early to mid-February, which in contractor-speak usually means May or June at the earliest - BUT he called in early February just as promised

-- he did the project quickly (it was the replacement of an old, crumbling retaining wall with a more modern wall with steps)

-- his final price was below his bid

-- his team used the driveway to remove the debris from the old wall, and when they were finished the removal there was NO evidence the driveway had been used

-- he clearly explained the options available to us, and gave us exactly what we chose; the work is very professional and looks great

we recommend him highly and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Excellent work! The team was fast, clean and efficient. Took a very steeply graded hill in the back and built 2 long, serpentine dry stack retaining walls. This allowed us to pick up extra space in the yard and provide something nice to look at other than an eroding hill! Beautiful.

This is the second project that we have had Jeff and team work on. The first was in 2012. If we need any more work, I know where I'm going.

Jeff laid a stone patio in my townhouse backyard and did a great job. Removed ugly old concrete stairs and replaced with beautiful stone stairs. Offered a discount if I was willing to wait til off-season (winter) to do the work, which I took since they were so busy anyway. Then two days in January when it was relatively warm, they came and did the install. Looked great. 6 months later I had a few minor issues, 1) lots of weeds/grass growing between stones and 2) A small section of stones sunk and it was messing up the grading and causing puddles. Jeff came out the following week and fixed both.

Our major backyard renovation started as an idea from Jeff Jones after seeing the major back yard flooding problems we were having in 2019. We love our back yard, it's a major entertainment space for us, and has a small pool that our children use all summer long. Unfortunately, our 40 year old drainage system collapsed underneath what amounted to 250 tons of concrete. Every rain became a flood, and every big rain ended up in our dining room.

The work was extremely difficult, all the concrete had to be removed, and removed by hand (our iron gates made for limited access). In 4 days time, Jeff and his crew had our entire yard down to dirt. I've never seen more efficient demolition work. After a pool company installed new pool infrastructure, Classic Stonescaping's creativity came forward. Gravel, then sand, then pavers and flagstone from Sisler's Stone (we worked closely with Jeff on the selection of every stone type in the project).

We threw in two twists to the project: an additional stone firepit, and matching stone veneer for a new outdoor kitchen. Jeff and his crew did a magnificent job, introducing an entirely new drainage infrastructure that ties together gutter and patio-water removal. The end result could not be any better than what we had envisioned. Seeing everything in its final state is almost surreal. We have now have a beautiful place to spend extended time with family and friends--we can't wait to throw our first backyard barbecue!

One final compliment to Classic Stonescaping--we had a major rain after the work had completed. Unfortunately the drainage system was clogged with all the construction debris. Jeff was in our back yard that very morning, inspecting the areas drainage could be improved. He and his crew came back to make added improvements that will forever ensure there are no further complications, regardless of how many 100 year storms we will have. We couldn't be more pleased with the results; I now look forward to our next deluge!

Classic Stonescaping came in directly on budget. The original quote did not include the additional work to rework the added drainage from the storm; the work was completed at no additional cost, and we were able to keep all our expenses exactly as planned. We had a great experience working with Jeff and his team. I don't normally hire out remodeling work but with little kids time was not on my side. There were some delays getting started because the weather was uncooperative. But once they started they were efficient and responsive to what we wanted.
They are a well established company but still small enough that you get a personal attention.

We had them install a patio with gas fire pit that turned into a walkway around the side of the house up to the driveway.

Jeff and his team are incredible. They transformed our front walkway and back patio from unusable to our favorite part of our house. Jeff combines great artistic vision with years of experience and an amazing understanding of how to make all the pieces fit. He and his team are friendly, quick, and efficient. I had Classic Stonescaping & Gardens replace an old cement front walkway and backyard patio with ones made with flagstone and install water drainage at my mother’s home after she had water leaking into her basement due to the heavy rains this past spring and summer. I chose this company after consulting with several other contractors, because the owner, Jeff Jones, took the time to explain how the old patio was allowing water to enter the basement as well as to explain how the landscape of the backyard helped to divert water away from the house—the direct opposite of what the other contractors claimed to be source of the basement water leakage. To make matters worse, I received conflicting proposals that would have required the digging up of the entire backyard, thousands of dollars, and an explicit disclaimer that they could not be sure that future water leakage would be prevented. Instead, Jeff correctly identified the problem: The heavy rains had caused water to overflow the gutters and fall towards the base of the house, forming a depression in the ground where water could pool and enter the house. Following his recommendation, we had wider gutters and downspouts installed. Jeff and his team then connected the downspouts with his drainage pipes leading away from the house.

Once the work was completed, the basement has remained bone dry even after several weeks’ worth of rain. As for the walkway and patio, I am very pleased with the end result. Jeff and his team exceeded my expectations. Prior to starting the work, he met with my mother and I to discuss the shape and style of the walkway and patio in great detail so that all of her questions and concerns were addressed to her satisfaction. During the project, Jeff and his team work diligently and with care. To give an example of Jeff’s attention to detail, he noticed that the driveway was recently repaved. In order not to cause any damage, he had the supplies delivered and stored on the street. The walkway and patio look great, and my mom is still receiving compliments and answering questions from folks in the neighborhood. If you need to install a new patio, walkway, or have to deal with water leaking into your basement, I highly recommend Classic Stonescaping & Gardens. My mother is very happy, and I think you will be as well.

Jeff Jones and his team at Classic Stonescaping and Gardens turned our backyard and patio into a beautiful place to entertain or just quietly enjoy the scenery. They expanded an old brick patio behind our 1910 house using vintage bricks to match its character. They built a gorgeous and functional stone grill that makes barbecuing for the family or for a crowd a snap. And they tore out old raised beds and installed beautiful gardens including a shade garden under an enormous maple tree where grass wouldn't grow and a border garden of crepe myrtles and lower plantings along our fence line. Jeff creatively designed flagstone pathways through the gardens and brought the entire backyard together as a unified whole. But perhaps best of all, Jeff is wonderful to work with -- he replied promptly to my initial emailed inquiry and on his first visit, we felt comfortable that he could transform the backyard. We left plant selection and design in his capable hands and are delighted with the results. And he and his team were accommodating too -- we wanted the yard finished in time for our twins' high school graduation, and despite an extraordinarily wet spring and a lot of jobs on the schedule, Jeff and team managed to get our project finished with time to spare.

Fantastic company. Owner Jeff Jones knows his stuff, is friendly, and helped us make key decisions with useful advice without pressuring us at all. He was also flexible on scheduling, and his price was very competitive.

The crew spent two weeks on our front wall. They did a beautiful job that has netted us compliments from many neighbors. Throughout construction, they were friendly, answering our questions quickly, and they did their best to minimize noise, dust, and parking challenges.

One of the GREATEST experiences working with a contractor ever. Jeff and his team were timely, professional, and true craftsmen. We are thrilled with the 2 patios, fire pit and walkways they created. We were able to change plans with a simple discussion with Jeff or his foreman. The best part . . . they always accommodated us, but were honest when telling us that our ideas may result in the best end result. We will use Classic Stonescaping for all of our future projects.

Jeff and his team did a superb job building our 35'x25' patio that includes a pad with three walls for a hot tub, retaining wall, stone fireplace, grill station and rounded seating wall. All the work was done on time and with the utmost care and attention to detail. Jeff's crew was punctual and above all tidy, ensuring that the work site was cleaned up every day. Our builder, himself a stickler for quality work was so impressed when he saw our backyard that he asked for Jeff's contact information and hopes to use him on future projects.

We are thrilled with how our new patio, retaining wall, and landscaping look - we can actually use our backyard now! It is great to watch all the rain we are getting just flow right off the patio and not hang out in the backyard. Jeff's design for the project was far and away more detailed and thoughtful than any of the other estimates we received. Jeff was one of three contractors I spoke with. I appreciated his honesty and recommendations. His price was the lowest of all three companies I reached out to and he was very up front about the timeline.

I believe the quality of the workmanship, materials, and care payed by his crew was all great. We had to make minor adjustments mid-project, they were communicated quickly and resolved in a way that still gave us a great result (tree roots impeded the original layout).

We paid less for a much better end result. (the materials recommended by the two other contractors were not nearly as nice).

Jeff Jones and his team from Classic Stonescaping were wonderful to work with and did a great job on our two level patio. We had to wait several months from when we signed the contract to when they began the work, but it was worth the wait. We are super happy with the finished product! Our new outdoor space includes a unique cooking station for making paellas. Jeff helped design this cooking station as a versatile element. Jeff's approach to our whole project was professional, creative, and practical. We have enjoyed our backyard more in the last month than we did in the 15+ years we have lived in our house.

Classic Stonescaping does great work! We are very happy with Jeff and his crew who did a fantastic job for us. Our project included a 50 foot stack stone retaining wall, a flagstone entry walkway, a new flagstone patio and (beautiful) fire pit, a raised garden accent wall made from stacked stone, and stone cladding on the exposed foundation of our house. It looks great and exceeds our expectations!
