I want to share my experience so others can do their due diligence. I obtained a quote from this company and ran into multiple problems:
Extremely high pricing for HVAC units — the numbers changed multiple times without clear explanation.
Vague communication on duct cleaning: I asked specifically whether the $950 duct cleaning included HEPA filtration, negative pressure, and whip brushes, but I was not given a clear answer — only that they “have a 25-foot hose.”
Dehumidifier confusion: The HVAC company recommended buying a $3,500 AprilAire dehumidifier without assessing what was actually needed, and this tied into their recommendation for an encapsulation company that didn’t even go under the house, doesn’t use dehumidifiers, and would not have addressed key crawlspace issues. This seemed potentially unsafe and poorly advised.
Additional costs not disclosed upfront: Sealing ducts in the crawlspace was listed as extra, but no clear pricing was provided.
Encapsulation timing recommendation: I was told I needed to encapsulate last, which contradicted other expert advice and seemed poorly timed for the best outcome.
Overall, the experience was frustrating due to vagueness, inconsistent pricing, and lack of transparency on key technical details, particularly around duct cleaning and the unnecessary dehumidifier. I recommend anyone considering this company to do your due diligence and research, ask very specific questions, confirm all costs upfront, and verify technical procedures before proceeding.

They addressed the issue and fixed it the next day. The technicians were very polite and respectful. No complaints here and I highly recommend them.

The technician seemed like a nice guy but wasn't upfront about pricing, he just said the thermostat he had in his truck was expensive. when i he gave me the bill, for just the thermostat was over 300.00. If I had know the price upfront I would have bought my own for cheaper and probably figured out how to install it myself. I was thinking it would be like $100.00 or so, When i called they also said it was $105 for the first 30 minutes which is really misleading, what they actually charged was 150 . the technician didn't even stick around to make sure that it did work or not.

A service technician arrived at my house today at 8:19 am to perform a routine maintenance service on my gas furnace. This normally takes about 30 to 45 minutes to perform. She completed the task at 8:29 am (10 minutes). I advised her that was extremely quick, she assured me that everything was fine. She went to her truck to write up the sevice ticket and it took her almost 30 minutes. I was very concerned about the level of service she was providing so I called the office and spoke with the dispatcher. He advised she was on the phone with her daughter and come back in and complete the service. As I stated she came back into my house about 30 minutes later. She spent more time on the phone with her daughter/writing up the service ticket than servicing my furnace. Now my furnace is making a rattling noise and I had to call After House Maintenance. Until all of this happened my furnace was working perfectly fine. I plan on speaking with the owners in the morning.

I woke up to a cold house!! Called Speeks right away and they responded within the hour!! They came out and fixed the problem within a couple hours. My only issue is the technician had to keep coming in and out of the house and there didn’t seem to be any effort to keep from tracking mud etc through my home. To be fair we still have a lot of ice around our home so maybe it couldn’t be helped. He was very kind and knowledgeable and efficient and I have heat again!!

WG Speeks was great. Vernon was very friendly and personable. He was able to figure out I had a clogged pipe pretty quickly and fixed the issue. He still checked my AC unit to make sure it was running properly. I also had some general questions about my AC system which he gladly answered. Would definitely call again and highly recommend.

I had a technician come today and he was wonderful. The office called when he was on the way which was really appreciated. We have assigned parking spots and Derek instinctively parked in a guest spot I hadn’t even noticed was there - his courtesy and professionalism began before he ever stepped out of the vehicle. He efficiently diagnosed and fixed the problem I was having. I also had a few questions that were really just curiosity/learning on my end and Derek made sure to answer them all. If I have any other issues I will definitely be using W. G. Speeks again.
