Jorge and Robert came to pump out our septic tank. After showing them where the tank is located, Jorge asked if I was aware of what household items should not be in the tank. He reviewed with me what is flushable and what is not, what to look for both inside the house and outside to help prevent any future problems and made sure I knew when to have our tank serviced again. Jorge was extremely professional, polite and friendly. I will be recommending Stemmle (and Jorge) to everyone.

The technician that replaced my tankless water heater was great - he was very responsive and provided me updates throughout the day. Unfortunately, during the process to restart the water into the house, the nozzle for our stand alone tub was damaged and water is no longer coming out of the tub spicket. The tech advised he would let the office know and have someone come out to repair/replace at no cost the next day. In addition, he advised that they will need to return as the pipe cover was not installed and so he used duct tape to cover and hold the insulation in. Note it is below 20 at night, so still waiting on when that will be completed. I called the office today, the agent Michelle, was very combative about the issue, stating we will see the earliest we can get back out and determine if the issue with the tub was caused by us before we can repair at no cost. Note - I paid the balance in full for the tankless water heater, over $4600.00, but the service is not completed and given the fact Michelle wanted to argue with me on the cause and timing; Michelle got frustrated with my questions and stated she will have someone else talk to me, put me on hold, then came back and stated the service manager would call me when they are available, otherwise they will be back out tomorrow to assess. I will need to put a dispute in on the charge while we get confirmation on resolution. I am so disappointed in the service after the install, knowing they have been in Richmond over 30 years.

Brock and Garren helped me with a badly installed toilet and water shut off valve issue. They were both very professional, knowledgeable and did a amazing job! I would highly recommend them and Stemmle!

This 3-star rating is specifically for the customer service over the phone. The first lady I spoke with was friendly at first, but seemed to struggle with understanding English spoken with a non-American accent. Then another lady took over the call and came across as cold and somewhat rude. That said, I’m satisfied with the plumber’s work—it's pricey, but they got the job done.

We had a catastrophic septic tank failure. The crew that replaced our tank, Aron, Justin, George and Quint, were professional to a T, efficient and meticulous. At completion the job site was graded, cleaned and immaculate. Thank you for a job well done.

Josh B. and Garrin P. came to address an ongoing backup issue from occupants that live over me...I explained what was going on and how I tried to correct the issue, they listened and quickly resolved the problem...excellent team...and thank you again!!!

I called Stemmle to come out for a possible leak. The plumber came out and advised me that it was my main line and it needed to be replaced. He quoted me $6,800. He told me that they offer financing and told me to call the office Monday to schedule it and set up financing. I called first thing Monday morning. The girl who answered the phone, who was very nice, said they do not offer financing. She advised that I would need to pay 1/2 upfront and the rest once finished. I explained that was not what I was told. She said she would have a supervisor call me back to discuss the financing and schedule it. 2 weeks later and I still haven't heard back from them. I went with another company who did it for almost half of what Stemmle quoted me.
As an aside, I got several other quotes, all of which were at least $2,000 cheaper.

Stemmle replaced a thirty-year-old water heater today. Josh B. and Enthony P. are a great team, quickly diagnosing and installing the new tank. All done with smiles and positivity. Well done Josh and Enthony, I'll be calling Stemmle again!

WAY OVERPRICED. They were going to charge me $1900 to fix a leaking diverter that I got done yesterday for $140. Dont trust them at all. The $95 “service”charge is RIDICULOUS then you still OVERPAY for services. I finally found a good plumber. Dont use these guys. I had to initially until I found someone. Now I am DONE with them!

Jorge and Austin were amazing! Very professional,thorough and gave me good information about the care and maintenance of my septic system. They also actually did the work they came to do. Apparently the last company we called for this service didn't actually dig up the solid tank, they only pumped out the water from the pump tank. Integrity counts and Stemmle has it!

Jorge & Austin came out to pump our septic at a rental property in an emergency situation. They were prompt, evaluated the system thoroughly and were helpful by educating me about my septic and the maintenance needed for my system to work more efficiently. I appreciated their awesome customer service so much that I will be using them, specifically, again tomorrow to pump my primary residence septic tank. I will be highly recommending to friends and clients!

After dealing with the City of Richmond for 9 days (they suck) I took matters into my own hands this morning and called Stemmle. Within a few hours Jimmy Y and Damon C were at my property, figured out the problem, and they were able to get this pit cleared of water and the leak repaired in no time. More time was spent beating our heads against the wall talking to the stupid city people. Thank you Jimmy and Damon for saving the day! You are my new go to guys!

Review of septic Pump install.
I’m very meticulous and I was watching them work and they allowed me to be involved while they were doing the job. Jovan was very patient, friendly, polite and meticulous. He was also extremely thorough. He was always open to my suggestions and anything I had to say that might be helpful because this job was not a normal job. It was a little complicated and I knew the backstory of how it was all installed. I have to say I actually enjoyed working with both of them. Edman was very friendly and helpful. They were both willing to answer all my questions and explain things to me. The other thing is when I originally called stemmell Plumbing Glenn was extremely helpful and actually try to help me to start taking care of my problem immediately teaching me over the phone what to do and not do. Not only did they come out in a timely manner. They moved it up a day because they knew I needed to have it done as soon as possible. They even told me that to work in the Pump room they may have to pump out the pump room. Javon said they will pump it out and then put the sewage back in again so that I wouldn’t have to pay the fee to have it hauled away. that saved me quite a bit of money. They also inspected the pump tank to make sure that it was in decent condition. Christie, who works in the office as support staff was very friendly and I felt like they really all wanted to help us. thanks to this company and all the employees. SIX STARS!!!

Kudos to Stemmle employees Mike M., John W. and Marcus H. for the professional and considerate service I received on 25 Jan 2021 getting my septic system working as it should. It was not an easy job to locate septic tank ( I had built a patio in the area), take care of clogs and rewire the septic pump which was not working. I was given info on each step needed and the cost before actions were taken.

Carlton and Noah were great. I had a concern that was looked at by other companies and Stemmle was by far the most thorough when evaluating my concern. They ended up fixing a valve of ours, and were persistent when our pipes were not initially fitting. They were both very kind and gracious with my questions and helped me understand the next steps.

I called and scheduled my septic tank to be pumped a week ahead of time. I was told between 10-5. I called at 4 on that scheduled day and was told that it would be after 5. I rescheduled for the next day and was told between 10-2 with a note to have me be first because they did not make my appointment for that previous day. I called at 1:40 and was told that I was next but the guy was at lunch and it would be another hour and a half. No thank you. Definite problems with scheduling and poor customer service as dispatch never called me. I was the one having to chase after them. If they are too busy, then don’t schedule me…or call if you see that you had now wasted two days worth of my time to let me know instead of me having to call. In my opinion, call someone else that will value its customers and their time.

Stemmle replaced our outdoor water faucet and did an amazing job! They were on time, polite, told me the amount up front, and cleaned up afterwards. I always know they will fix it right the first time. I would highly recommend them!!

Had them out for backed up toilet and other lines not draining, after calling another company first. The other company did not fix it, gave me big bill, and huge estimate to come back the next day and try again to fix. I said no, thanks, and called Stemmle, who I noticed got good reviews on Nextdoor. Well, the difference was like night and day. Javin and Logan were the crew who arrived, on time, and were pleasant and professional to deal with. They looked things over, then explained what they thought it was, and what their plan was, and gave me an estimated cost that was 1/3 of the other company’s. Took them about an hour to clear the lines, and we were back in business, so to speak, at our home! What a relief! Office staff are friendly, too, and I highly recommend this company!

Stemmle came out to my house for a septic service. This was the first time I'd done it (I moved from the city) and my technician, Jorge Perez, gave me a lot of information and knowledge about our septic system, as I had none. He also gave me tips on how to keep things moving well! I will always use Stemmle!

I have to share what a WONDERFUL experience I had yesterday with the technicians at Stemmle Plumbing. My husband and I were having septic tank issues, and I called Stemmle's Richmond office. They had plumbers Carlton and Noah at my house within about three hours. They took a very conservative approach (which I appreciate!) and called for a pump out of our two tanks. Jorge and Fred arrived in less than an hour! Tanks were pumped, and problem seems to be solved. Carlton and Noah stayed until everything was done to make sure we were satisfied. All four men are truly professionals and really helped us in a "time of need." Thank you so much!
