John Prince is a joke. His company installed the patio at the home we purchased, so I asked the previous owners for his contact information to expand the existing patio as it was small and seemingly unfinished. I reached out to John inquiring about him expanding and finishing the project to which he responds immediately with, "unfortunately I now have to charge a consult fee" as he is "in such high demand, and is more of an architect now". As a business owner myself, his response is laughable.
Doing business this way is a short term gain, John. Best of luck!

I've posted a photo of the patio to show of his less than desirable work, which shows a cement edge as if they ran out of slate stones to finish the job.

Update: I stumbled upon John's response to my honest review from two years ago and felt necessary to offer a response. John, your entire post regarding my factual review is filled with falsities and accusations. I was not rude, I was most certainly surprised. You were the original "designer" and installer of this incomplete patio. When I reached out to you, I was grateful to have found you as I could not get my hands on the original stone that was used, and I was looking to have the patio expanded (and COMPLETED). Upon answering, introducing myself and explaining who I was, how I received your number, and the scope of the project that I was interested in having you complete, your very first response to me was, and I remember it well because it was so off-putting: "Because I am more of a "designer now", I charge a consultation fee to come look at the project."
I recall how taken-aback I was because YOU WERE THE ORIGINAL DESIGNER. No one should know the project better than you, and I was planning to be a guaranteed customer.
Never did I raise my voice, or act entitled. I was certainly surprised, and confused by your unwillingness to help, but never was I rude. From the reading of your response, I hurt your ego as I questioned the way you do business, including photo evidence of the type of work you do- less than adequate. I will continue to stand on the fact that you are a poor businessman and hardscape designer, which shows in the fact that the only review you have is mine, followed by your combative and emotional response to my experience. If you were in such demand as you claimed, you would have dozens of reviews over the last two years :-/

Ian’s comment is completely absurd. What an odd meltdown. I don’t even know the guy. He called me demanding I give him a service for free. Yes, Ian, I do lots and lots of architectural work and yes, I am in demand. It’s impossible to service anyone by giving them a free service. Ian acted as if he was entitled to this, which was even more peculiar. He was so abrasive, loud and rude on the phone that I hung up on him after a 3 minute call.

Pro tip— when your client steers a design of a landscape to what they want, you do it and get paid for it. When the client is on a particularly tight patio budget and tells you what they want and you do it, that’s success. That’s called success and it made the client that formerly owned Ian’s house very happy. See the photos below.

People, beware angry, vindictive unhappy people looking for control over others. See the photos and weep, Ian. Yes, architectural work all the time for me, and my clients aren’t such tightwads that they’ll cry over the fees. But yelling at an experienced, successful and careful business owner AND then placing a review after a 3 minute call reeks of creepy and controlling behavior.

This group of amazing people were my life savers! I had a lawn service cancel on me last minute before a move out and they came through in a pinch. They cleared all the debris, mowed and trimmed before the movers even got started at 9:20. Fast, Efficient, Immaculate job and Friendly. If I was staying in the Hampton Roads area I would be a repeat customer.

ABM Lawn Care is very professional and most Realiable lawn care service in the Hampton Roads area. I love when you call somebody is always available to answer the phone and they also give courtesy reminders prior to service. I recommend them if you are looking for great quality service.

I absolutely love working with this company. They have been so accommodating and helpful with the things I need done around my yard. I hired them long distance for my home in VA where I was no longer staying. Anytime I showed up and saw my yard it was always in great shape. Everyone has been extremely nice.

Chesapeake. Great company for pressure washing. I requested an estimate on a pressure washing job for my driveway, sidewalks and curb online through their website. I received an estimate within a couple days delivered to my mailbox at home as well as a follow up email. A team of 3 knocked out the job over the weekend, in about an hour. and they did a fantastic job. I highly recommend them and will be using them again for similar jobs in the future.

They are reasonably priced and always do such a great job! Demetrius always gets back to me within a day and takes care of my lawn within a couple of days. Great service, and very friendly! I would recommend them to anyone!

I called ABM on Saturday for mulch removal and replacement. Demetrius came out on Saturday afternoon, gave an estimate ( very reasonable). We agreed to the price and he returned on Monday to do the job! It looks great! We are very pleased and asked Demetrius for an estimate to do more work!
( again, very reasonable!) we will be calling him again this season!

ABM did a top notch job on our lawn. They were very professional and easy to work with. The lawn looked so good that we got compliments from the neighbors! I highly recommend using them.

ABM Lawn Care LLC took great care of us! Our extremely large back yard was unmanageable with our regular mower due to over growth but the crew came out and knocked it out within 2 hours. True professionals with outstanding customer service. 👍🏼 These guys are a must!!

Demetrius came out and provided me with a reasonable quote within a few hours of my phone call. Demetrius and his crew were great! They called to let me know when they would arrive. Once on site, they verified the parameters of the job and got right to work. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed immediately with clear detail. They didn't even mind me standing out and cheering when the holly bushes were gone. Great group of gentlemen. Demetrius even called me after everything was completed to make sure I was satisfied. I will definitely refer and use them again in the future!

I am reluctant to share my insights about this company. They are very kind and personable.I feel like I want to keep it a secret so they don’t get spread too thin, kind of like a good restaurant, you don’t want everybody to know about it because you don’t wanna wait for a table when you go. But I think they can handle it, Demetris seems to have a good crew and they work well together. Very professional And courteous. Very reasonable prices.

When I first hired this company to edge my driveway and walkway in 2020, I was very impressed. They were timely, responsive, and did an excellent job. When I hired them for the same thing the following year, the work they did was not great (edging not deep, didn't blow out cuts) so I called the office and they came out and fixed it. This year I called because I wanted a quote on an additional service in addition to the edging. I was told that someone would come out "Tues or Wed." Tues late morning my doorbell rings. I work from home and was on a chat with tech support on my laptop, and I had to end the support call in the middle so that I could get the door. I knew it was them because I could hear the girl talking on the phone in my yard through my open window. When I opened the door I asked if she could let me know when they were coming next time so that they are not interrupting me in the middle of something important for work. She said she would make a note in my file. She also said it would be a couple of hours before they could get back to me with a quote. The next day I followed up with a text, asking when I would hear from them on the quote. It has now been a week and I still have not receive a response. I guess they decided it was too inconvenient for them to keep me as a customer, since it would require some additional effort on their part.
