These guys came highly recommended from several neighbors and after getting other quotes that were out of my budget these guys did all the tree removal I needed for much less. I wasn't expecting such a well done job. The owner is a high energy enthusiastic and skilled tree guy who keeps everyone moving and cleaning up after the work is finished. I will definitely be using them again.

Brian, Dave and the Cambium team did a fantastic job removing a tree in a very challenging position, within close proximity to my Richmond city home (and my neighbors). When it was completed, it was as if the tree had never been there.

They had an impressive array of equipment and knowledgeable crew to assist in the removal of a 100+ year old Pin Oak that was 9ft in diameter and over 60ft tall!! They took the entire tree down by roping limbs (freefalling) when other companies required a crane. Very honest and hard working group. I would highly recommend.

Brian took very good care of me. I love his personality! He was available and well equipped to take down 3 of the big trees in my back yard, removed the stumps and trim back about 5 others trees. Very fast and professional and stayed true to his work. He was also the most affordable contractor out of the 8 places I received quotes from. I recommend him 110%.

We needed three pine trees removed beside our house--two dead and one leaning over the roof. Dave came out and provided excellent advice on how to proceed and what services Cambium could offer. Dave was personable and knowledgeable. (Also he has a cool dog that travels with him.)

The set up and contacts leading up to the day were prompt.

When the crew arrived to fell the trees, they were excellent. The trees were close to our house and our neighbors' house, so they had tight spaces to work in, which they navigated efficiently and effectively. They cleared away all the debris and they made sure we were happy with the job before departing.

If we will definitely recommend Cambium to our friends if they need any service, and if we need to have trees serviced again, we will definitely use Cambium.

I contacted Cambium on a friend's recommendation after the first company I contacted still hadn't scheduled me four weeks after I agreed to the work order. Dave Wilkinson was a breath of fresh air - he came out immediately to look at what needed to be done (as well as other things I might WANT to be done), gave me several quotes (all very competitive), and the job was done before the end of the week. They quickly took down a large pin oak with minimal impact to the lawn, ground up the stump, trimmed some branches from other trees overhanging our roof, set aside some of the tree I wanted to keep for firewood, and cleaned up extremely well. Dave was responsive and professional, as was everyone on the crew. I highly recommend Cambium.

Brian and his team were fantastic from start to finish! We recently had 8 trees taken down in our back yard; a few of which were very close to our home. It was fascinating to watch them work so precisely/efficiently to get the job done. Aside from the trees being gone, you'd hardly know they had been there by the time they finished cleaning up. Cambium was right in line with some of the other estimates we received, but what set them apart for me was Brian's obvious deep knowledge and passion for what he does. The icing on the cake is the awesome swing they installed from a large Oak tree. My kids (and really anyone who tries it) are sure to get many hours of enjoyment from it over the years. Highly recommend Cambium Tree Experts and would 100% call them again!

These guys are the best! We had 11 trees/stumps removed and we were shocked at how good the price and service was. David was great to work with from the first call and then Brian and his team are absolute magicians when they cut/drop the trees. They also did an excellent job cleaning up and now our yard looks great!

I absolutely recommended Cambium Tree Services. We had two dead trees, one being a large oak very close to our house and overhanging our slate roof. We have had issues in the past with tree companies damaging the roof so this was of great concern. Brian and his crew did a fantastic job of removing the trees without any damage to the house/roof. I highly recommend this company for tree service and/or removal. David will come out, answer any questions, discuss the job/costs and then Brian (who is a certified arborist) and his crew will actually do the work. Great job!

From getting an estimate to a job completed, we had an amazing experience with this company. David came out to give us an estimate on a chilly, rainy day, and really took his time listening to our concerns. (We needed several trees removed from a property we recently purchased.) They were quick with a fair price, and able to schedule promptly. Brian came with a crew, and removed all 4 trees, stumps, and cleaned up everything (lots of leaves) in just a few short hours. We are very impressed and pleased with our experience with Cambium, and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking tree removal service. We are so happy we were referred to this company. Brian is a living and walking encyclopedia of arboriculture—which I deeply appreciate, because not only it shows that he knows what he is talking about, but also proves the commitment to his profession. His 20+ years of experience really shine through.

I had a couple of trees and several large/dangerous branches removed, and the price was well beyond fair. The work was done efficiently, in a very timely manner, and with a lot of attention to everything.

I also would like to point out this: Brian is not the person that shows up trying to figure out how much money he can make off of you—instead he will simply let you know what, if anything, should be addressed. And if you don't necessarily need to do something (like cutting a tree, for example), he will be the first one to point it out. He is very straightforward and honest, which are qualities that are not always easy to find in businesses of any kind.

To say that I was deeply impressed by them would be an understatement and they definitively got a new loyal costumer. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The sales representative David was extremely responsive and helpful. He came out to give me an estimate on my tree removal job quickly, accurately assessed all the trees in my yard and offered suggestions to improve their health even though they were not being removed, worked patiently and flexibly with me while I sorted out homeowners association regulations and quoted me a reasonable price for the job. As Dave had promised, the company owner Brian himself came early to my job and brought a polite, hard-working and skilled team with him who were careful especially when they had to gain access through my neighbor’s driveway. Brian was generous with his time - as an expert arborist he consulted with me on all my trees and honestly advised against the immediate removal of a tree I had planned to remove, even though he could have made more money. Brian’s work climbing up and taking down a huge oak tree directly over my house was nothing short of amazing. The neighbor kids and I stood in awe while he expertly climbed and removed the leaning and towering tree!! His team made sure nothing was dropped and he worked very efficiently and expertly. At the end the team left my backyard cleaned and raked - in better shape than they found it. They were all very friendly and clearly take pride in their work. I would use them again for any tree service - and would be glad to serve as a reference for them. This job was well worth every penny and caused not a bit of stress. We called Cambium after our neighbor recommended them. The crew showed up early and were very professional, courteous and quick. They removed several trees in our back yard including a very dead pine and thinned a red maple beside our front door. We are very pleased with their service from start to finish.
No damage to the grass and the mulched areas were left clean. This company gives you great work at a fair price and we would highly recommend them.

Cambium hasn't done our work yet but if the work they do is anything like our experience with David Wilkinson (Estimator) We are beyond pleased and impressed. Plain spoken, honest, fair, (not cheap or expensive) and professional. Sadly, Pamela and I haven't found that contractors and "professional services" people in Richmond are severely lacking in what came naturally to David. Being decent. Everyone we worked with at Cambium exceeded our expectations. David was very helpful and came to our house and gave us a quote the same day I called the company. He kept us informed of the schedule and was very accommodating; it rained on the original planned day but they quickly rescheduled so that our yard wouldn’t get torn up. The team that took down the trees did a great job; they worked quickly but safely and our yard looked untouched afterwards. We would definitely go with this company again!

Brian (owner) and his team did an outstanding job removing 6 large trees along with the stumps. His skills and precision dropping the trees was truly amazing; and he exceeded all of my expectations. Afterwards, the team did a great job cleaning up and left the property in perfect condition. I received 3 bids for this work and Cambium was the cheapest of all bids, and much less than half of my highest bid. This company truly does exceptional work at a great price. If you have at least a few trees you need removed, call Brian at Cambium; I highly recommend him and will always use him in the future.

I can’t speak highly enough about Brian and the Cambium Tree Service team. Brian was super responsive and came out quickly to provide an estimate- he is clearly a knowledgeable arborist and gave us a couple helpful recommendations to deal with some large trees in our yard and provided an estimate on the spot. Brian really took the time to consult with us on what needed to be trimmed, removed, and what could wait to he done later. When performing the work the team was meticulous, professional, and extremely quick and clean! They will be my go to tree service from now on.

John‘s crew pruned five trees and completely cut down one very damaged tree. They were very professional in all they did and the pruned trees look so much better now! I would recommend their work to anyone.

Had a huge (48 inch + diameter at the base) that split into 3 large trunks. Beautiful but unfortunately it was dying and threatening my home. Brian and company took it down without issue, cleaned up and even left me enough of the trunks in manageable sizes that I can cut and split for firewood. Yes I would use Cambium tree service again.

Consummate professionals is the only way to describe everybody we dealt with. David did a great job of determining what work needed to be done. Brian was fantastic, and knew precisely what he was doing. All the people who did the work at our house were wonderful! They arrived on time, went right to work, professionally removed all three trees that were problems, including one that hung over the house, and one that was hanging over the road. These were large oaks and hickories (60-100 foot tall trees) and they topped them, and felled them competently, and actually made it look easy, even though I know it wasn't.

I will call them again when I need more tree work in the future, and can give them the highest recommendation!

We are having 6 massive 90’+ pine trees removed from our front yard and 3 hardwoods from our backyard. Cambium showed up yesterday and by the time they left, all 6 canopies were down and chipped. Two of the trees were totally down. Then they took down the canopies of the trees in the back and when they left, there wasn’t a pine needle left on my driveway. Details like that say so much about a business. My neighbors and I were in awe of the way the team works so closely together. They are so efficient. We also enjoyed seeing Brian in the trees at the very top working with such skill. It is an aerial act we enjoyed all day! So if you need tree work I highly recommend these guys. They also installed a tree swing which I am enjoying very much! Dave who is in charge of quotes and sales was great and followed the project to the end. We are delighted!
