I want to be clear that this review is for customer service and company policies, not the guys who came out and did the work.

TL;DR - proposed a complete replacement after the first visit without providing any details or photos despite multiple requests and follow-ups. Gutters are less than 5 years old.

I usually pay about half their price to have my gutters cleaned, but thought the positive reviews may indicate better service, so I gave it a shot. The guys who came out were professional and effective. They left a note on my door that there were issues with the gutters and to call for more info. I would have preferred to speak about any issues on the spot of course, but they left without my knowledge. I also noticed a pile of wet leaves clustered in 2 corners. The GutterMaid by Ned Stevens website lists "what you can expect" on the homepage, and notes that the debris will be bagged and taken and photos of any issues/completed job will be taken. When I called, I let them know about the piles I'd noticed, and asked about the issues found and corresponding photos. The rep, told me that they didn't take photos as it was a safety issue, and it shouldn't be on the website. We went back and forth a bit, because, well, it IS on the website? He then noted that there actually was one photo that he would e-mail me, along with a report of the issue, and the guys would come back out and collect the leaves. Great!

The e-mail I received contained no picture, nor details, only a proposal and estimate to replace all of my gutters for about $1600! I'd informed another rep when I'd first scheduled about a dent from storm damage that I'd like assessed, but the roof (and gutters) were replaced 5 years ago. There's no way I need an entire replacement, and if I did, this is something to be talked through, not just plopped in an email with a 'sign here'. I emailed customer service and asked for more details, along with the photo...crickets.

The guys did come back out to collect the leaves. They insisted they'd did so the first time and took the debris with them, however I have no way of knowing that since I didn't see them leave, and I wasn't provided any completion photos; I only saw the piles. I do think they did a good job cleaning and flushing the gutters, one of which was very clogged.

However, customer service telling me there's "something" wrong with my gutters and proposing a total replacement with zero detail of any issue is a wild way to sell gutters.

Ned Stevens gutter cleaning crew did a great job, quickly and quietly cleaning our gutters and downspouts and cleaning up any residual debris. The crew was very friendly, polite and respectful. We have a contract for these cleanings and definitely plan to continue using them.

I use Ned Stevens once a year for gutter cleaning, although it is recommended by them that it would be done more often. I personally think that I do not get much leaves in my gutters, although feedback (which would be greatly appreciated) would help me determine if I need to go with more frequencies. So for now, I will continue to go once a year. Don't get me wrong, I "think" they are cleaning out something for the price that is paid- which is reasonable, but an extra confirmation would help with my peace of mind.

Outstanding! Ned's power washed the house and front porch and cleaned the windows and it looks like we have a brand new home again. They couldn't have been more professional and polite. This s our first time with Ned's but we are already huge fans and plan to schedule them on a regular basis.

Ned Stevens is a well oiled machine with great people from the guys cleaning the gutters to the team handling the phone calls. Our home is 50 years old this year and has had some issues with our gutters in recent years. They came and cleaned our gutters and ALSO repaired some gutters that had pulled away from the house at no extra cost. I recommend them.

They did a great job and were very efficient. Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning stayed in constant contact via email to ensure job was completed and to my satisfaction. I plan on using them again in the spring (2024) and I will refer them to friends and family.

I've been a customer of Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning for three years now, and I've consistently received excellent service. They come out twice a year, and their work is always prompt, efficient, and reasonably priced. With large trees near my home, it's essential to have reliable maintenance, and Ned Stevens provides just that. Overall, I've had an awesome experience with them, and I highly recommend their services. Their location is in Herndon, VA.

Ned Stevens, now Ned Home does a great job with gutter cleaning. Not only clean gutters, but cleans up any debris and leaves the area spotless. I am very particular and have used them happily for a number if years. I highly recommend with no reservations.

Good: The actual service. When (finally) two workers arrived, they work quickly, quietly, and reattached my gutters with no issues. It took less than 30 minutes.

Bad: The customer service. I made this appointment on June 5th. The agent told me they would be there between then and July 1st. Although I thought this was a pretty long time frame, it was not a emergency, so I signed the contract (they make you pay in advance).
By July 1st, they had not arrived. I called customer service and was told by a lady that they would "for sure" be there "before" Friday. By Friday, they had not arrived.
The following Monday I called to cancel the appointment. The gentleman asked me not to and promised they would be there either that day or the next Tuesday (July 9th). The crew showed up 3 hours laster. My question is - how was it possible to show up so quickly when I waited OVER A MONTH for the service.
I should not have to inquire about appointments that are not fulfilled - the company should have honored their commitment OR contacted me to keep me in the loop.

Under no circumstances will I ever use this company again.

I originally contacted Ned's for a standard gutter cleaning service. They completed that, but also let me know that one of my gutters needed replacement. They offered to complete the work for a very reasonable price, completing the work in a timely fashion. I'm glad I called Ned's, they will be serviing my gutters into the future!

I decided to try Ned Stevens after getting frustrated with the AI text bots being used by my former gutter cleaner. Now I'm grateful for those non-human idiots because they pushed me to Ned Stevens. The scheduling was easy. The price was quite reasonable. The billing was easy. The gutter-cleaner notified us in advance of his arrival and showed up on time. He was thorough and he was tidy, even bagging up the leaf debris and depositing it by the curb. (Frankly this was as surprising as it was appreciated!). What more could I reasonably want?!? I'll be booking Ned Stevens next year as a delighted returning customer.

We had a bit of a snafu with scheduling but we are very happy with the work. The men arrived on time and were very expedient in their work. We were very happy with the results of our gutter cleaning and reattachment. They were reasonably priced and we would recommend them.

I needed my gutters & dryer vent cleaned and contacted NS; as I discussed my needs, NS was so professional in handling my request that I went ahead & paid to have 2 of my neighbors’ gutters cleaned too. What an awesome decision in the end. Work was beyond what one would expect & the teams arrived on time, were very professional & worked in a purposeful manner. My neighbors thanked me & I told them to thank NS by using their services in the future! Also, their inspection of our gutters were a real plus & left each of us feeling like we were being taken care of. Thanks NS for making it possible for me to help my neighbors during this difficult time by giving me a price that I could afford. This was truly an awesome experience to have Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning on our roof (side)!!!!!

The service was very easy to schedule and the service delivery is very efficient and with no disruption.
It is very difficult to provide a feedback on service quality as a team came to clean our gutters but we were not home. I do not have a ladder tall enough to check what was done. I think the team should take “before and after” pictures and send them to the client immediately after delivery.

My gutters were cleaned. I appreciate the courtesy and professional manner of the Ned Stevens crew. They actually seem to enjoy what they are doing and take great pride in their work. They also do the windows and the dryer vent. They just did the dryer vent which was a great service, too.
Ned Stevens just came to do my gutters. The team was precessional, and adept at what they do. I appreciate the services Ned Stevens offers and highly recommend this company. My windows were washed on Saturday. They did a great job with this service, too.

I needed a gutter cleaning quick because we noticed at the last rainstorm nothing coming out of our gutters and we were expecting A LOT of rain in our area from a tropical storm that was coming. I called Ned Stevens on a Thursday and they told me pricing over the phone based on my address, and I approved on the phone. They came next day, with two techs in a marked van, I have cameras on the home, so watched them safely get on the roof, clean up after themselves, and do a great thorough job. This was nice to be able to have the service performed without having to be home, and got upfront, transparent pricing in a hurry. I will definitely use them again next time I need gutter services!

Gutter cleaning personnel arrived, well-equipped and knowledgeable about the job. Did a good job and left, having cleaned up the site. Price was reasonable and I’m satisfied. Only improvement would be to provide some kind of arrival time better than “sometime during the day.”

This was the first time I took advantage of NED STEVENS house washing service. They came on a rainy day, which I thought was unusual, but the job was amazing! The house is 38 years old, and it looks great! The trimming around the windows, as well as the windows. I think this is definitely a service I will use again. Thank you to my crew of gentlemen!! You do good work!

We are very pleased with the service provided by Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning. They are courteous and very thorough in their work and leave our home looking clean and refreshed. They come as scheduled throughout the year, and I don't have to worry about the gutters overflowing and causing drainage problems. Customer service is efficient and helpful as well. I highly recommend this company.

Crew was on time and very efficient. They cleaned my gutters and put most of the debris in a paper recycling bag. Smaller debris was blended into grass. I would definitely use their services again. Very reasonable price done by a licensed and bonded company.

Do not use this service! I had them clean my gutters May 2024 for a one time service, they kept calling me almost every day trying to upsell me. I called back and asked to have myself removed from their marketing calls. This was in 2024. Guess what I just looked at my credit card and see a charge for $396 - for what?!?! I have no idea. I did not sign up for a recurring service. I did not have any service done by this company since 2024. I am disputing this charge. Please go elsewhere, if I hadn’t looked at my credit card transactions I may have missed this.
Edit(Feb2025): the company refunded me after I called them to ask about this charge. It took 30 minutes & a claim I had verbally agreed to an annual recurring service & conversations were recorded (I said yes please pull the recordings). And a perplexing answer to my question on if it’s annual I had this done May 2024…it’s Feb and there’s snow - said it was for a planned June service?!?!? Anyway nothing wrong with the actual job of gutter cleaning but it is not cool to just charge a customer this way. Glad they issued me a refund (I had to argue with them though)
