Wanted nearly $3,200 to install a $500 electric water heater. This is honestly highway robbery. We are in the middle of a move (just our luck the water heater failed) or I would have never called them to begin with. I spent $600 in parts (everything they recommended) and spent two hours along with two trips to Lowes. Are their techs brain surgeons on the side? I can see why they don't itemize their quotes. It would look ridiculously obscene.

Do better John Nugent and Sons. I was super disappointed after they were recommended from a Facebook post.

Nugent technicians, apparently, have now become salespeople. I’ve had a service contact with them for many years. Every six months they perform a system check on my heat pump. Several months ago, out of the blue, the technician tried to sell me a $20k+ replacement system. When I said I was shocked, he said he could get me into a lesser system for $17k. When he saw that I was irritated with him, he offered a magnanimous $1,000 discount. When another technician came for my next system check, he tried to sell me a $3k coil replacement. When I declined, he offered a $1,500 coil cleaning. I’ve always been pleased with Nugent’s work. However, this new upsell policy is irritating and will have me looking for a new provider.

Our service technician was Kenny. He was friendly, professional and informative. He repaired our thermostats as well as inspect our furnace. We highly recommend Nugent and Sons.

Honest and knowledgeable technicians. I've used them for HVAC and plumbing. Their employees are experienced. Another company wanted to charge me for anode replacement for $700, but the Nugent plumber said the sink smell was just buildup in the pipe that needed cleaning. Good prices. Great overall company.

We've used Nugent for years including biannual HVAC maintenance, new HVAC installation, new water heater, plumbing, warranty repairs and more. What they do well: professional, explain everything, share photos, send estimates by email for review, call ahead before arrival, easy payment by credit card. What I wish they did better: help with rebate applications. They took weeks to respond by email and disagreed on the process. I simply gave up. Most importantly: their employees seem happy to work for the company and I like to support companies that treat their employees well.

Very pleased with my first encounter with Nugent. Oscar arrived on time, detected a difficult issue affecting several outlets and repaired the problem promptly and professionally. Will be using this company again.

So pleased with John Nugent & Sons service today. Exactly what you want from a service provider: prompt, professional, courteous, knowledgeable. And pricing was competitive. Dustin did a FANTASTIC job. Today, he replaced a failing water heater and replaced my very old main water cutoff valve along with a much-needed pressure regulator (due to overly high supply pressure). I will definitely call Nugent & Sons for any future needs.

Nick came out and performed the winter inspection and maintenance on my ac/heating system. Nick gave me good instructions on how to better take care of my unit so that it works as efficiently as possible. Nick is always very punctual, kind and respectful. He is a wonderful and very knowledgeable technician. I will request him to be my technician every time I need service

Very fast and professional service from start to finish. Secured a quick appointment despite holiday time, my plumber was clear and comprehensive in his explanations and the repair accomplished without any hassle or problem. Will definitely be using this service in the future.

John Nugent is a good company and takes good care of your maintenance needs. However, on this occasion the technician added repair costs without getting prior consent during a service visit. This was rather inappropriate as it shakes one’s trust.

Nugent and Sons installed our HVAC systems several years ago. They were very competitive in the cost of installing our new system. Because that went so well, we decided to have a HVAC maintenance contract with Nugent & Sons and are very pleased with their service. We always request Kenny for the HVAC check. He takes his time to remind us of things we need to do during the year to keep our HVAC running properly. He is always patient with our questions and concerns. Also, Kenny made us aware of other services available from Nugent & Sons. We didn’t know that they also provide electrical and plumbing services as well as the HVAC systems which we will use if the need arises.

John Nugent is really taking customers for a ride of late. They sent a tech out to press the reset button on the water safety switch and leave and charged $95 for this after I had repeatedly reset the switch multiple times and told them that it had not solved the problem. The tech did not attempt to check anything just asked me multiple questions reset the switch, invoiced and left! Turns out the humidifier needed servicing and today it is pouring water so he has left our basement at risk of flooding and charged us for it! This company can not be trusted any more to provide the service we relied upon them for! What sort of company charges for a diagnostic visit and doesn’t even check the system?!

I have been a customer for over 25 years. When we had a pipe burst - I called who I trusted. For 3 weeks I have requested more than 6 times for a breakdown of cost per Erie Ins. Nothing!!! No response. When I called to complain and asked for an Owner, I get the guy who is supposed to provide the breakdown - what a joke - and guess what? - NO ACTION.

So .... IF there is a problem with these guys - good luck getting it resolved. I am guessing the Ownership is not engaged with the business.

John Nugent & Sons did an exceptional job fixing our HVAC issue--Mario was very pleasant to work with and knew his stuff (Very Competent) as he explained the issue and made the necessary adjustments ! Highly recommend this company and if you can get Mario to service your equipment even better!

Our technician was super friendly and professional. We had a leak at our exterior hose bib which he repaired with a new handle in about 30 mins. No complaints except it was a little pricier than expected. 4 stars for only that reason
