HVAC reviews in Vienna, Virginia

They gave me the same bologna they gave someone else that my technician is on an emergency and can't come today like they promised. I have to go another day in 95 degree heat without air conditioning. They say 24 hours a day 365 days a year on their invoice. I guess that is except when your technician is busy with someone else. They didn't even bother to call to tell me they could not come as promised. I had to call them. I will not be using this company again.

Except the the guys who hardly spoke English, or maybe no English at all, I am very very unhappy with performance of this company. including Sales Person, The person who sent me the contract, the person who showed up just one time on my property, they all lied in one way or the other. Even this person sent me this email to write a review.
Shawn Taylor: I never said I liked the work!
They were not on time, at all, Price was high and I had no choice because at 110 degrees Saturday afternoon I had to get it fixed, Sales person left me no option, but buying a new one and said it will be installed within the next 4-5 Hours. Well it took ten hours and I (73 years Old ) had to stay up till 2 after mid-night.
The three guys who installed the air condition were very nice people (nothing against them), but, did not have much of training. Were not experienced installers. none of the guys had a license. when I requested to see license, they showed me a home improvement license from State of Maryland.
No one from the company (being experienced ever came to inspect the work)
My advice for future customers is do your shopping around, and put timing on contract. Make sure you inspect and require proper licensing for the work this company wants to do for you -
My AC was not cooling the house. Contacted Service doctors, AKA Millie's HVAC in 062021. They recommend to replace my HVAC and furnace but did not recommend replacement of evaporator coil. In 2022, start of summer season, AC was not cooling the house again. The unit had no freon indicating leak that was left undiagnosed. For 2 visits they filled with unit with Freon and eventually on 3rd visit told me I needed the evaporator coil replaced. They did not show up one appointment and delayed another appointment at last minute. Unfortunately, they misdiagnosed and I was changed with an additional amount to pay for evaporator coil. Poor service by acting manager, Kamal who refused to bring this issue up to owner and stated I can only speak to him. Of note, the technician notified the owner at time of leak who did not pay much attention to what the technician was saying, indicating they made a mistake by not replacing the evaporator coil. Would not use this company again as they lack to take responsibilities, not showing up/delaying appointment, poor diagnostic assessments, lack of professional behavior by acting manager and owner does not want to be involved when there is an issue.

HVAC was leaking water so I called Millie’s in August 2019. The tech came out, checked the Freon gauge outside, and visually inspected the inside unit. After a total of 10 minutes on the property he concluded the unit needed to be replaced due to a Freon leak. Total cost $2500.
After he left, I googled Freon leak and all articles stated that the root cause should be detected (i.e. identify where the leak was). This was not done. I then called a small local HVAC company for a second opinion and they conclude that there was a clogged pipe, not a leak. He added a cartridge to the inside unit (repaired it) and said I was good to go. Total cost $200.
Millie’s called me a week later to follow up on the replacement and close the sale. I told them it was fixed and that I felt the tech didn’t do his job. They insisted I still needed to pay the diagnostic free, which I reluctantly payed.
It’s now September 2020 (1 year later) and I am happy to report that I have not had an issue with the HVAC since. If you want an HVAC replacement, maybe these are your guys. If you want your HVAC accurately diagnosed or fixed, I’d look somewhere else.
Update: it’s now September 2024 and HVAC still has no issues.

Terrible!!! Got an AC from them two years ago, it was leaking and caused water damage. Called them to check it out, told me they had to cancel due to an emergency. They were suppose to come the next day, never got a phone call or anything. Called them they informed me that they left me a message and called, I had none! They said they would come the next day, same issue! I called them an hour before and they said they would come without calling. They never showed! Called them back and they told me they called and left a message, once again I did not a missed call or voicemail!

The worst they charged 300 dollars still did not fix the issues all they did was fix the wire and did not even do a good job it has me another 600 dollars to fix the rest of the system by someone else

This company stated they would install a brand new Hesting and A/C unit in my mother’s home. They never pulled permits or installed a condensation pan. My mother is elderly and instead of doing their job correctly. They half way did the job and refused to meet the code standard set by the state of Maryland.

27Jul Millie’s HVAC inspected my AC unit and diagnosed my compressor had stopped working, thus the reason cold air was not being generated by the unit. They recommended I replace my AC unit, emailed me a quote of $ 8,000, insisting on a $3800 upfront payment. 29July they installed what I assumed was a brand new HVAC unit. This unit did blow out cold air, however after the recommended time of 4-6 hrs according to Supervisor Charles, though the thermostat was set to 68° the condo temperature was 77° in the unit. 01Aug I contacted Charles to make him aware of the nearly 10°temperature discrepancy 3 days post-installation. 02August a service technician diagnosed the blower would need to be replaced. Charles communicated this is a $2,000 charge that I would not be billed for. I continued to follow up with Charles to get an appointment for the blower replacement but he ignored my phone calls, then responded via text I needed to talk to a Kevin Wells on 06 Aug. From 06Aug - 16 Aug, I had multiple conversations with a Kevin Wells and a Shawn Taylor who set up FOUR appointments for blower installation with no technician showing up each time. I was also told if the blower installation does not fix the issue I would need to have a new FURNANCE installed which lends itself to question why I would need a new HEATING system for air condition issues? In conclusion , my guess is they never intended to finish the job and instead kept giving me excuses about the blower/part not being available. As of today, it has been 2.5 weeks since they installed my HVAC unit, collected their $8,000 in full, and have not resolved my HVAC issues and seem to not have the ability to call back and provide the next date of service to finally resolve my ongoing HVAC issue.

This has to be the least professional operation out there. I bought a new AC unit in 2022 with a 10-year warranty, and there is already a leak in one of the main lines. Because it was found by someone other than Millie's (read: building HOA maintenance) - and despite the fact that the unit itself was not touched or attempted to be repaired by anyone else - they claim that the warranty was voided and any work would require full replacement at full cost. This is not anyone you want to do business with. Dishonest people who do not deserve your business.

Had a completely new system installed in 2021 and was relatively happy with the quality of work and the actual technicians doing the work. The biggest negative is scheduling and follow-up. When we needed service on the unit, an appointment was scheduled and 10 minutes before the appointment window, got a call "the technicians truck broke down". Not sure if they outsource scheduling, but that portion of engaging with Millies has led me to find another business to work with.
-
Wild experience with their dispatch team. For an appointment scheduled the day before (probably any appointment) they text me at 8:51am day of to confirm, 8:56am as a second attempt, then they cancel at 9:01am. Very rude when I called to see what happened (kept me on hold for 10 minutes then disconnected me, I had to call back). Then they would not let me speak to a manager and said it was their process. Do not use this company!!!!!

When my AC suddenly stopped cooling during a hot day, I searched online for the best AC repair service and that’s when I found Millies. I gave them a call, and explained the issue. To my surprise, they treated my situation like a true emergency. They prioritized my request and sent a technician out right away. The technician was incredibly professional, honest, and knowledgeable. After checking the system, he explained that my old AC unit had reached the end of its life and unlike other companies that just kept patching it up, he recommended replacing it to avoid wasting more money. I agreed, and Millies didn’t waste any time. They replaced my entire AC system within a day. Fast, efficient, and stress-free. I am beyond satisfied with their work and the level of care they showed. Millies truly went above and beyond.
Highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC service. -
ZERO ⭐️ BUYER BEWARE!!
I purchased a brand new HVAC and heating system with upgraded coils from Millie’s HVAC in 2018. I paid for a 16 SEER, 3-ton system with upgraded coils, backed by a warranty. In 2024, the A/C compressor failed. Instead of replacing it with an equivalent unit, they downgraded it to a 15 SEER, 3-ton — a clear case of warranty misrepresentation. This is not a like-for-like replacement.
Even worse, the technician discovered that the upgraded coils I paid for were never installed. That’s right — I have the receipts, but the equipment was never delivered. This is outright fraud. Despite this, I was forced to pay $2000 out of pocket just to get my system running again — and even then, it never cooled properly.
To make matters worse, they advertise 24-hour service, but are never available when there's a real issue. Scheduling is a mess, and technicians regularly fail to show up for appointments or are simply unavailable. They are very responsive when you’re buying a system, but they disappear completely when their poor installations start failing.
I contacted Millie’s about the ongoing issues — from the missing coils to the downgraded unit and cooling failure — and received no accountability or meaningful response. Now, the replacement unit has failed again, and they want to charge a service fee just to inspect it.
This is not just bad service — it’s a pattern of negligence, deception, fraud, and warranty misrepresentation.
Companies like this count on customers giving up — but I won’t.
I will be filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and the Consumer Protection Agencies in both Maryland and Virginia.
If this is not rectified promptly, I will be pursuing legal action through the courts.
Do not trust Millie’s HVAC. They have shown a total lack of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Avoid at all costs. -
I recently had my HVAC system replaced by Millie’s company and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the team was incredibly professional, explaining the process and answering all my questions.
What stood out most was their punctuality—they arrived exactly when they said they would and finished the job right on schedule. They were also very respectful of my home, leaving the workspace spotless. It’s rare to find such reliable service. Highly recommend!" -
Always on time, beyond professional and so knowledgeable with how to best use our system and properly maintain our units. Always going above and beyond with the attention to detail and so friendly to deal with. Thank you for being so reliable and helpful — shoutout to Lily, she’s the best!!!

This company is nothing short of FANTASTIC! The technician was the most honest HVAC person I've ever dealt with. They have gained my trust and a lifelong customer. I would Highly recommend them to any and all who need their units serviced. Eric was my technician and he was a class act.

We had an issue with our furnace due to an electrical problem. The original contractor had used improper materials during installation, which caused the issue. After finding Air Treatment through a Google search and seeing their excellent reviews, we decided to give them a try—and they didn’t disappoint.
We called them on a Sunday morning, and they promptly dispatched a specialist. Within two hours, Trevor arrived and got to work. He was incredibly knowledgeable, diagnosing the problem quickly and fixing it within a few hours. He was very professional, knowledge and friendly. As new homeowners, we appreciated the quick HVAC 101 he gave us :) It was a helpful bonus!
Thank you for the fantastic service and for getting everything back in order. It was money well spent! -
Another update - Still using Air Treatment. They recently installed mini splits in our house and relocated our water heater for a renovation. I worked with Phil to plan everything. He was so helpful and had good ideas for where we could put the water heater when our architect couldn’t come up with anything workable. Phu and his team did the install and their work is great. I see a lot of installed minisplit lines that are all over the place but our lines are really nice and neat. Phil and Phu are both very knowledgeable and good at what they do.
Just updating my review to say I've been using Air Treatment for at least 7 years now for my HVAC and water heater and they are great. I've had a variety of technicians come to my house and all are good. I highly recommend them.
7yrs ago - Carl is very thorough and explains everything in a way that's easy to understand. -
The Air Treatment company has given us excellent service and advice and we have been able to keep our very old system running for much longer than expected. We have never been pressured to have extra services or replacement and trust their good service.

I had my system replaced a year ago.
This was my annual maintenance.
They did a thorough job checking my system to make everything is working correctly as we go into winter.
Thanks again. -
Got 4 estimates for replacing our HVAC with a newer heat pump. ATC spent the most time and offered the most reasonable suggestions for improvements.
