Avoid this Company at All Costs!

I experienced firsthand all the negative reviews I read about this company, and I’m convinced that a significant part of their business model is designed to scam customers through customer deductible fees on Home Warranty claims while pushing unnecessary, expensive services.

I filed a home warranty claim for a toilet that frequently clogs. The plumber who arrived did absolutely ZERO troubleshooting, simply stating that since the toilet wasn’t clogged at that moment, there was no mechanical issue. Instead, he immediately recommended a complete Hydrojet drainage cleaning—a costly and extreme solution that I suspect this company profits from. Unsurprisingly, the Home Warranty company denied the claim, as Nutech didn’t even attempt basic troubleshooting to determine if the issue could be resolved at the toilet level without resorting to an expensive full drainage cleaning. My choice was to simply lose my $45 deductible with no work done or pay almost a thousand out of pocket for the very expensive full drainage cleaning, that I'm not convinced is necessary.

Not only was I scammed out of the deductible with nothing to show for it, but they also wasted my time with multiple no-shows. They missed the first two appointments entirely and were two hours late to the third.

If your home warranty company assigns them to your claim, do yourself a favor: immediately request another contractor. I ended up wasting two weeks of my time and losing a $45 deductible with absolutely nothing resolved.

Unprofessional and Deceptive Service from NuTech HVAC & Plumbing

My experience with NuTech HVAC & Plumbing has been deeply disappointing and frustrating, marked by unprofessional behavior and what I consider to be deceptive business practices.

Fourteen months ago, I submitted a request to replace a ruptured water heater through my home warranty company. NuTech HVAC & Plumbing was the assigned contractor. I was quoted an out-of-pocket cost of $3,396.66 for the replacement and installation. Despite this, NuTech did not install it. It became apparent they may act more as a third-party service than a full-service provider, which was unsettling, especially since I urgently needed hot water.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, we again lost hot water. I contacted NuTech and was scheduled for an appointment the next day between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. The technician did not arrive until 12:45 p.m. He spent less than 10 minutes attempting to relight the pilot. It lit briefly and then went out. He informed me that the burner likely needed to be replaced, and that he would contact the manufacturer (Rheem) to determine whether the part could be sourced locally. If not, he said the entire unit would need to be replaced, and I might be responsible for covering the difference between the new water heater and the depreciated value of the current one.

Shortly after, I received a follow-up call from a NuTech technician who confirmed my email and informed me that the water heater would need to be replaced. He said I would receive a confirmation email from Rheem, which I did, and that the installation would likely be completed by Monday or Tuesday.

By 10:00 a.m. Monday, I did not receive any updates, so I called NuTech and spoke with their customer service representative, Carmen. She seemed unaware of the situation and claimed to have no information regarding the installation. I explained everything to her—including that the replacement was authorized by Rheem, with a confirmation number, and that NuTech, whose name is on my receipt, had sold me the original unit. She asked for the receipt, which I provided.

I still had not heard back by noon, so I called again. Carmen said she hadn’t been able to reach the technician. I asked her to escalate the matter to her manager. She said she would do so and would contact me by 2:00 p.m. She eventually called back around 1:30 p.m., stating that her manager advised me to contact my home warranty company and request a different HVAC & plumbing company, as NuTech could not complete the installation promptly.

When I requested to speak with a manager directly, Carmen told me she could not provide that information.

Due to NuTech’s poor communication and lack of accountability, my family has been without hot water for days. Their unprofessionalism has caused a significant inconvenience. Additionally, the water heater they sold me—manufactured by Rheem—failed after only 14 months, whereas my previous unit lasted 20+ years. I recommended that NuTech reevaluate offering Rheem water heaters to their customers, considering this experience and the numerous issues reported with the brand.

I hope this review helps future customers make a more informed decision.

License Plate TSH-9882. Driving like a maniac through shopping center off Prince William Parkway. Cut me and several other cars off, almost causing an accident. If their service is anything like their driving, would not recommend. At all.

Had such a great experience with Nutech!

I had one of those fancy google thermostats installed in my townhome and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of installation. The tech was very informative, clean wearing shoe coverings.. (A MUST!! 🤣) and to top it all off they explained to me exactly how to use this new device. The tech offered to clean my coils and service my a/c unit and that will be next on the list 100%

Now as we all know It is really hard to find great companies with quality to trust in our homes, so I can say without a doubt you can put your trust with Nutech… thanks so much again ♥️

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with New Tech HVAC and Plumbing.

My appointment was scheduled for a timeframe between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. No one showed up during that window. I called the company at 1:00 PM, and Morris told me the technician was just running late and would be there by 1:30–2:00. Still, no one came. I called again at 3:00, and was told there had been an “accident” but the technician was on the way. When I pressed for details later, Morris changed his story and claimed the technician had been in a car accident. Finally, when the technician (Jimmy) arrived at 5:00 PM, he admitted there was no accident at all—they were just handling “other houses that were more important.”

Not only was this extremely unprofessional and dishonest, but Jimmy also misrepresented the work. He told me our shower needed new parts that would need to be ordered, and that the company would call us once they arrived. However, I later found out that he closed the ticket with our home warranty company, falsely claiming nothing needed to be repaired. The shower clearly still leaks, with water coming from the diverter and the spout whether the lever is up or down.

After reading other reviews, it seems this type of behavior—lying to customers and misreporting to warranty companies—is a common issue with them. This is unacceptable. They wasted my time, were dishonest multiple times, and failed to resolve the actual problem.

I would strongly caution anyone against using New Tech HVAC and Plumbing.

This company is an honorable company because their technician, daniel, troubleshooted with me over the phone as to why my furnace was not working. The temperatures were down to single digits last night and it was only getting worse over the next couple of days. He was kind enough to help me fix this over the phone. I will always use their services moving forward for that fact alone.

Shady business. Charge customer $175 on their 'labor' for turning off a humidifier, and conveniently forgot about the 5Y labor warranty

Very rude, brought a dog in his van (don’t wanna hear it was a service dog cause it was going crazy in his van with the windows rolled up 😡) and whenever he opened the van the dog would run out. He couldn’t do a diagnosis because he didn’t wanna get below the house.... but that’s where the furnace is FYI and he was already filthy, like he was rolling around in dirt with his dog. Maybe that’s why he brought him 🤷‍♂️ Very horrible experience. Go somewhere else more professional. We like helping small businesses but some deserve to disappear. They only thing I hope is the dog is doing okay 🙏

My air conditioning broke on one of the hottest days of the summer. Millie's crew showed up and removed my entire heat pump system and replaced it with an new one and stayed until 11:00 o'clock at night to get the job done all in one day at what I thought was a Fair price. What a life saver.

I wish I could give zero stars. Horrible service. Do not use this company. Better off spending a little more money for a more reputable company. Their technician Marvin sucks. He is never on time for appointments. Always an excuse. No courtesy call to let the customer know he is running late. Unprofessional.

My AC stopped working on one of the hottest July days this summer. I called Millies HVAC that morning and had a whole new upgraded system in place before the end of the day. Their team was responsive. GREAT JOB!
