3rd time we have used Dr Dan's. That says it all. Thanks to Danny and his crews we have wonderful landscaping, a gorgeous patio, and a new two car drive. Attentive to detail, courteous, and prompt. Prices are reasonable and Danny makes sure you get every penny of what you pay. We would be remiss if we didn't mention Dena and Lorraine who we am pretty sure make it all run so smoothly.

I reached out to Dr. Dan to frame out my raised bed garden. Dr. Dan and contracted crew did a fantastic job and made my vision come to life. I love going out into the garden without the muddy obstructions.

Dr. Dan and his team installed 4 dry wells on each downspout in the yard!!! My gutter system was a huge part of the reason my yard would flood!!! The guys came in and went straight to work!!! Of course they rang the bell to let me know they were here!!! I was shocked at how deep into the ground the dry wells went!! When they showed me that they hit water I was amazed!!! Thank you Dr. Dan and team because of your team I’m finally seeing hope to a picture perfect lawn in the future!!!! Thanks again!!!

Update!!! Monday on 4/10/2021 we had about a 10 minute shower!!! Any type of water that came to this area always form a small pond!! I’m please to say this is the first time I haven’t seen water in this area after rain fall or just letting the water hose run!! Thanks again Dr. Dan and team!!!

8/8/2023 update the dry wells work great outside of hurricane season. During hurricane season and heavy rain storms all four dry wells back up and overflow. It was a complete waste of money, time, and resources!! I live in flood zone B according to the Virginia Beach flood map. I will update pictures next heavy rain.

Greetings I apologize for the long wait as I said before during heavy rainfall your dry wells does not contain water. Please look at the video with one dry well looking like a waterfall. Dry wells were a waste of money.

We had a great experience with Dr. Dan's team. They were on time and communicated very clearly at every stage of the process. The dry well drainages systems they installed are a great fix to our drainage problems. The crew (Weston, Aiden, and Bryce) was courteous and thorough. Ms. Lorraine was great to walk us through all our options. Thanks guys!

They cleaned out a large area in the yard and did some landscaping. We are beyond pleased. The whole team is very professional. When done. They made sure everything was cleaned up. Will use again!!!!

The main thing I liked about this company was that they really tried to get to know me and what I wanted for my yard. They were super friendly and professional. Our yards were pretty dirty and barren before they made it something amazing. We’ll be using them again in the near future. Highly recommend them.

Upgrading our front beds has been on our bucket list since we moved in over 20 years ago. We knew it was a large project, with several stages, so when we finally decided to do it we knew we needed a seasoned professional that could build exactly what we envisioned. We checked out Dr Dan’s Landscaping, both his extensive portfolio and good reviews, and felt confident he could handle the large scope of the project. Jay and his crew were hard working and detail oriented, and they did a fantastic job. We ended up with sturdy, attractive front bed landscaping and pathways that we love. My wife and I filled with our favorite plants and we couldn’t be happier!

The landscaped area in the front of our house was over 30 years old and much overgrown. We hired Dr. Dan's Landscaping & Architectural Design to basically overhaul the entire area. Dr. Dan's team was simply outstanding throughout the entire process (planning, estimating and executing). We were so thrilled with their professionalism, and the high quality of their work, that we are hiring Dr. Dan's to replace our shutters and refurbish our deck. Dr. Dan's is truly an exceptional company who cares about the needs of their customers. I strongly recommend them for any landscaping work, house exterior work, etc. you may ever need.

Dr Dan’s team was extremely professional and responsive from start to finish. I saw all the great reviews so I had to reach out and hope this was as good as everyone else says! Lorraine provided a fair quote for my stamped concrete patio. Between the time I paid the deposit to when they started, communication was beyond my expectations! Multiple letters, calls, texts, etc.. never guessing when I’d see or hear from them. His crew was extremely hardworking and professional! Very polite and they were extremely attentive and detailed-oriented with their craftsmanship. I had one small concern about some spots I saw appear a week later and Dr Dan’s crew came out immediately to address it. A true testament that if something does go wrong, Dr Dan will handle it immediately. I’m actually glad I was able to see how he responds to issues and resolves problems. Dr Dan is personable, friendly and attentive! I can say this experience was one of the most positive I’ve ever had with these types of home improvements and definitely exceeded my expectations! I’ll be hiring him again in the Spring to help with my landscaping! :)

Dr. Dan and his crew did an outstanding job on my pergola and fire pit. They were very professional and kept me involved throughout the entire process. I have more projects in 2021 I want done and Dr. Dan will be my first and only choice.

Let's start with the most important thing...absolutely PROFESSIONAL! Dr. Dan was on time, had actual marketing materials, was no muss, no fuss. He gave me my proposal for my drive way expansion within an hour and followed up with a paper copy and a follow-up letter. The project was scheduled same day and work began a week later (was expected to be 4-6 weeks out, but space opened up). Everyone showed up right on time, the team was super professional and the work was finished that day. I could not be more happy with the results! Was a very fair price and worth every penny!

10/10 would choose again. Dr. Dan and his team came over and visualized a plan with my situation and within my budget. Had concrete put in with dry wells to fix the job. The entire team was very professional and genuinely cared about the job and quality of work. It took a while to research and find the right person for the job, if you’re stuck and can’t decide, choose Dr. Dan.

We’ve been a very satisfied customer of Dr Dan’s Landscaping for 3 yrs now. Dr Dan’s has done a number of landscaping projects (large and small) from installing a new backyard Pergola and stamped concrete patio; to installing a water drainage system, and a new wood fence; spring mulching and tree trimming; as well as irrigation system winterization & spring start up and repair. Recently, we had problems with our irrigation system and pump, so Dan sent out his irrigation guy to diagnose and fix the problem. Dr Dan’s team is very responsive, reliable and easy to do business with, so we continue to use and recommend them for all of our landscaping needs.

Honestly, at first, I was just trying to find a company to replace most of my small backyard with stamped concrete as well as my little walkway to the front door. I called several companies and had some people come over and give quotes or after measuring would say they would email or call back with a quote. No one ever got back with us. I started to get a feeling that all the companies I talked to didn't want to do the job. Maybe because I live in a townhome and transporting concrete to the back yard via a small grass alleyway was too much. I don't know; all I know is that I was getting annoyed with no one getting back with me. Anyways, Dr. Dan's was the only company that we contacted that established communication after surveying/measuring. Within a few days after calling them they came over to inspect and measure and talk. I was just relieved I found a company that was willing to do the job. They were very professional and did everything promptly. Dan himself came several times to oversee the project. It honestly came out beautifully. Despite a couple of small minor imperfections, I still think it was worth every penny. I will go back to them for any future hardscape/landscaping work.

We had a great experience with Dr. Dans! Dan took the time to personally address all of our questions before and during all work. The team, especially Dena, are highly responsive and kept us in the loop when any changes to the schedule occurred. We had an issue with flooding in our townhome’s backyard, and have not had any issues with water since the drains have been installed! Dr. Dan’s team also installed a beautiful new vinyl fence. We ran into an unexpected issue with our neighbor when the fence was installed and Dan took the time to meet with them and went out of his way to resolve the issue (that was of no fault of the company). We are extremely happy with the quality of service and work we received and will certainly use them for any future needs. They are fair priced for what you receive.

Our home has always had water drainage issues. Originally we went with a company that recommended a sump pump. While it helped short term, it was definitely not a permanent solution as it tripped the breaker constantly and we had to continuously clear the backed up city drain from leaves and debris. It was a lot of additional work. When we returned home (military move) 3 years later it was no longer turning on and we were over it. After searching, we found Dr Dan's and while there was a 6 week wait for an initial consultation, we were just happy to have found a company that had the right qualifications/experience to truly help us. Lorraine came out and saw our space and listened to our concerns. She was confident that dry wells were our best bet to address the flooding issue. They required no raking and no electricity, they made sense. She laid out a phased approach that would address the flooding issue first.. but then she also took her spray can and drew out exactly what we could have in our space to truly enjoy it. It was what I had been dreaming of and WAY more. The huge curved 1400+ sqft concrete patio complete with a bubbled out firepit and a pavilion. The landscape cleanup around our trees. She opened up the idea of ripping out our deck that at this point had been destroyed by the flooding and just made us envision this fresh new start to backyard living. She really heard what we wanted and incorporated everything. The quote was very reasonable and we said yes because as soon as the work was to be done, we could finally have the backyard that we had been dreaming of and it would all be done. There was no additional landscaping that we needed to do on our own, it wasn't like we had to go out and grab mulch or lift a finger for anything, it was all going to be done and we could not wait! Even the final result wasn't something that we as novices would have to struggle to maintain. It is simply grass, rocks, and mulch. It fit our lifestyle. In the weeks that followed we were introduced to Dr. Dan, he was very excited about the project and truly invested in the results. He came over several times to ensure our concrete design was symmetrical, that the pavilion was in the exact spot I wanted, that we got the electrical wired to the posts before concrete was poured, that our water issues would be addressed. He really took great care and attention into our project. It made me feel confident that we chose the right company. He introduced us to the various teams that we would be working with and communicated exactly what we had discussed with everyone involved so there was no miscommunication we were all involved each step of the way. Each of Dan's contractors and employees were top notch. I can't speak more highly of them all. They were very professional each step of the way and took great care in their work. Since I work from home I was able to see them each time they came out and they really blew me away with how professional and kind they all were. After a few weeks we started seeing the vision come to life. The posts went up for the pavilion, the deck was removed, the dry wells put in, the concrete followed, the landscaping began. It was a rather quick process once it started and each day we were more excited. In my experience there is always something that goes wrong with a project of this magnitude, but not this time. Everything we did was so well thought out and discussed that the additional time spent in the planning phase really paid off and we got exactly what we wanted. Phase 3 of our project is about to begin and we love dry wells so much we have incorporated a few more along the side of our home. We now have a backyard space that we can enjoy with our family, friends, and pets and it means the world to us. Oh and I'm sure this outdoor space has added at least 100K of value to our home, not that we would ever sell! It really is breathtaking stepping back there knowing that we live here and get to enjoy our whole property, finally.

We moved into our house in 2020 and for three years have not been able to see grass grow in this area of our backyard. It constantly floods even from the smallest amount of rain and takes well over a week to drain, leaving a mud pit for our dogs to track into the house. We reached out to Dr. Dan’s and from start to finish their business was done in a timely and professional manner. We had three dry wells dug, entire yard aerated, flooded area was backfilled, and yard was seeded. The job was completed sooner than the quoted time (which we greatly appreciated) and Dr. Dan, Lorraine, and the whole team were incredible with professionalism, responsiveness, and answering any questions we had along the way. We are grateful to finally have our yard back and will be using Dr. Dan’s for any projects in the future!

What a breath of fresh air to get a company who performs as they promise and even go above and beyond!! We purchased our current home about 1.5 yrs. ago and had to have many repairs done. I was shocked at the unprofessional manor that seems to permeate this industry. I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt, you will be impressed with Dr. Dan and his crew. They always came when they said they would, they always communicated when they would be here and their time it would take to get the job done. Everyday his crew showed up, they looked happy and wanted to work, wanted to turn the yard into a true piece of outdoor art. We had Dr. Dan fix our drainage issues (done and fixed), build a fire pit (wonderful space) and now he's building a stunning waterfall and pond feature (can't wait to see that magic happen!)).

Again, we are so impressed with the quality of service and how much he truly cares that the job is completed with exceptional quality, and that you as the customer are happy with the entire experience. I can understand now, why his website says "In business for 30 years, that type of longevity only happens when you care about your product, you're truthful and honest with your customers, and you have a great team that gets the job done everyday with smiles on their faces and a willingness to go above and beyond! Dr Dan’s Landscaping recently completed several projects at my home, which included a 10x16 shed, a large stamped concrete patio, two dry wells, a grill station, and new fence gate. The subcontractors used to build the shed were very efficient and completed their work in 2 days, their work was made easier by material precut at their facility reducing the time needed onsite. The grill station was built by a separate subcontractor who Dr Dan uses (Jay), his work was superior and of high quality. The 2 dry wells were dug out and completed before the patio install which has helped with drainage, the crew completed their work in near 100 degree weather but were very efficient and quick workers.

Project management and communication could have been better at times, but the short or no notice of work crew arrival times were made easier with me being retired and at home most days. Like everyone else, Dr Dan’s company and the subcontractors continue to suffer with short handed and often unreliable staff and that influenced some of the delays.

Dr. Dan’s Landscaping was a great company to work with. They had great communication, which is key for me. Mr. Dan came out regularly to check on the jobs being done. Would considering using them again in the future.

Great quality of work. Jay, Ken and Lee worked well together and created my piecemeal projects and unusual visions. Loraine and Dr Dan made sure everything was to our specs. We had cedar siding and window repair along with the new fence and shed.
