Contrary to some poor reviews below… we found JJ to be an extremely interesting and capable person. His crew (Miguel & Roberto) are very efficient & hard working; 23 years + with JJ. All 3 are no nonsense, professional and smart. They did what was necessary & got our difficult job done right. We Highly Recommend JJ Landscaping. BTW: JJ kept his crew on his payroll during Covid.

We had a great experience with JJ Landscaping & Irrigation. Hiring a local, small business is important to us. JJL&I offered very competitive pricing and fit us in their schedule without much delay. They repaired our turfstone side yard, allowing us to re-purpose materials in addition to material they brought in. The team was hard-working, efficient, and cleaned up the site at the end of the day. We will have them return to check & correct the wobble-factor on a few pavers, and add some decorative rock around the edges. The area is looking great, and they've been very accommodating as we add a little extra to the original work plan. So far, we are very pleased. I'll update and add pics (and probably the 5th star) after the next phase.
Update: Well, JJ Landscaping & Irrigation never did get back to us, didn't respond to texts, and never returned to correct wobbly turfstone or add rock border.
Still, I'm mostly pleased with JJL&I-- but I recommend you do not pay until the work is completed and you are 100% satisfied, (which is the general recommendation you always hear, right? Bad on me I guess)

JJ’s did a very good job for replace a parts which we had leaking problem. They respond very quickly about my call and text. Thier crew were very professional. I am thinking about asking them to take care my yard too. I think I can trust them after I have experienced and seen thier work.

Stay far away from JJs Landscaping! So many problems. JJs replaced the sod at our rental house and reseeded and installed an irrigation system. He left some work unfinished and and the seed they used must have been cheap seed because it grew in with a bunch of weeds and very little grass. JJ said he has a “Lifetime” warranty on his work, but he would never return our calls to address the unfinished work and the weeds…After almost 1 year he finally called us back and did agree to pay for a lawn service to do weed control and finally finish the work.
Now 2 years later we have a major water leak at the irrigation junction leaving our rental house without water. JJ said he would meet us at the house to check it out. He never showed up when he said he would (that always happens) and is not returning our calls (surprise) even though it’s a serious issue.
We were forced to call a local, highly regarded plumber and sure enough… the irrigation work was substandard causing the failure. The plumber gave us full documentation to document the substandard work and materials.
What about that lifetime warranty that JJ touted? We learned our lesson. We trusted him and should not have.
Do not use this company!

JJ and his crew did a fantastic job at my place building a complete irrigation system with close to 30 nozzle heads and 4 independent zones. My previous contractor left me with an incomplete job, JJ assessed the issue and deemed the previous job unacceptable and not compliant with regulations. JJ started from scratch and delivered a complete job exceeding expectations in about 2 days.

JJ's gave me the most reasonable price for one of my flip projects, one price and done, no change orders, was their with his crew and got the job done efficiently and professional. Retaining wall, complete sod, sprinkler system with great ideas for shrubs and trees. Highly recommend JJ's

JJ helped us with the raised beds in our backyard. He gave on the spot estimate for the work. During the installation, we added extra items (like another later of pavelstone on some beds). These additional requests required extra materials & labor. JJ accommodated our requests (even though it took him several back & fro trips for soil/stones & lumber, and his crew had to work longer). The crew worked hard and we are happy with the results. (I'm excited for him to adjust our sprinklers so that we can plant the flowers and I'll update this review with the final results.)

JJ's Landscaping made all of our backyard dreams come true! The owner, John, was very responsive and provided us a detailed, reasonable bid. We hired them for a large scale backyard remodel that involved a retaining wall, new fence, fill, and sod. They even took on the task of moving an 8x8 shed for us. John's crew showed up on time, exactly when he said they would. They got to work right away and finished the job in less than 5 days. Everyone on the team was extremely professional and did quality work. They also cleaned up after themselves every day, including spraying down our driveway. We added a few additional requests during the job and John was willing to accommodate them. We would highly recommend JJ's Landscaping!!!

We couldn't be happier with John and the team at JJ's. True Professionals in every way from the initial consultation to the bid to the job to the follow-up. Communication throughout was top notch. Our home is close to a busy road and we knew we wanted some kind of low maintenance landscape or tree barrier with some tpe of accent lighting but had no idea what to do. After understanding our objectives John immediately provided several design ideas that would meet our needs and budget - We had his bid that very same day. His crew finished the job beautifully, efficiently, and seemlessly in only one day while we were away and we came home to a totally new front yard. Cant recommended JJ's highly enough and we are already talking about planning our next project with them.

Irrigation connections are not good, We don’t recommend JJ. There was a leak after less than one year. We had to shut off the main line because the water was bursting out under the ground near city main line where irrigation connected to it.

John asked us the call the city because he thought it was the city main line that caused the leak. City worker came out same day we called, and told us there is nothing wrong with City side of connections. After a few days without water and many attempts to try to get John to swing by to check, he finally showed up. His crews dug out near the water city water main line where the connection came loose but then had to leave for another job and promised to come back another day but never did. After about a week without water, we had no choice but to called a professional plumber to fixed the connections. He explained how the type of connections JJ used was bad and only untrained plumbers do it that way.

I called this morning expecting to make an appointment for late for an estimate but JJ said he could be here today. He and Miguel showed up and began diagnosing the possible problem. With in two hours the superhero Miguel found the problem which was different than we originally thought and fixed it along with two other issues I wanted. Working along side Miguel was awesome. He was respectful and didn’t treat me like a women. Treated me as an equal.
I would recommend JJ company in a heart beat. And told him never to lose Miguel

JJ and his entire team did an awesome job landscaping our new house. We gave JJ a budget and a vision and he took care of the rest. He has also gone above and beyond to make sure the work he did do is satisfactory and has made it clear any changes or fixes needed he will take care of. Thank you JJ & Team!

My experience with John and his crew was great from start to finish. They were professional, polite and extremely talented when it came to landscaping design needs. If you're looking for really good team, that includes you with all decisions, at a very fair price, don't hesitate to hire JJ's landscaping an Irrigation.

John installed an irrigation system. It did not water all of my areas I had grass dying and he never responded to numerous calls. Made appointments to help and never showed up. Now I’m having it re-done the entire system needs to be pulled out because he did not put the pipes low enough. I could not aerate my lawn because the pipes are not even 2 inches down. They are poor quality pipes his heads were not correct and it was not installed correctly to water all of my areas as he had promised.

JJ's Landscaping team was amazing and did a fantastic job! We started with a mud pit of a back yard and now it's an amazing space to entertain. We appreciated the level of the John's involvement throughout the process to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. They had great ideas and it was clear they take pride in their work.

JJ was amazing to work with. He does phenomenal quality and was always able to work within our budget, and honor it all the way through. We have entrusted JJ’s Landscaping and Irrigation to complete two large projects, and each time the results have exceeded our expectations.

The first project involved installing a new sprinkler system, 6,000sq of sod, and planting hedges — all were completed with great care and efficiency. More recently, JJ and his team tackled a much larger job spanning across two+ acres, which included clearing dense blackberry brush and an old hay field, re-grading the driveway, laying bark, building a new flower bed, trimming trees and shrubs, and refreshing the flower beds around our home. The transformation was incredible.

JJ’s quotes are very fair and reasonable especially considering the scope and detail of the work required. He honors his original estimates and goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding results, even when the job takes more time than expected.
