If there were a lower rating option, I would choose it. My elderly parents hired A1 to perform their annual heating system maintenance on a home that is only six years old. The technician claimed there was a “huge leak” in the evaporator coil, insisted it needed immediate replacement, and even suggested they might need a whole new system—if he could even find the part. He warned it wouldn’t last through the winter.
My mom called me, uneasy about the situation. I went over to check, but I’m not an HVAC professional. Thankfully, my brother-in-law is. He performed a full inspection and testing of the system. His findings? No issues whatsoever—certainly not the catastrophic leak A1 claimed.
This was a blatant attempt to frighten and mislead elderly customers into unnecessary, expensive repairs. I strongly urge anyone considering A1 to get a second opinion before agreeing to any work. Honesty and integrity are essential in this industry, and unfortunately, that was not our experience.

When I inspected the unit, I did not notice any leak. While I am not an HVAC technician, my brother-in-law—who is a journeyman HVAC technician—also examined the system and confirmed there was no leak present.
I am concerned about the discrepancy here, and I would like to understand how this conclusion was reached. I would be happy to meet you at their home so we can review the situation together and discuss possible options moving forward.
