We worked with Gabe, Martin, Leo and Leah (among others) to completely remake our backyard. We couldn’t be happier with the result! Gabe and Martin walked through before the start of the project to ensure they understood how to translate the plans into reality. Sage and Stone also worked with us on options to reduce the overall scope and budget, for instance suggesting we could lower costs a bit by doing some of the demolition and prep work ourselves (which we did).

The project started on schedule and the team reliably showed up every single day for the next ten weeks. We had them remove and create a new retaining wall with Techo-Blocs, relocate a freestanding structure onto new footings, install pavers under the structure, and install a new composite deck. The team also leveled out and rebuilt a small path in the yard, evening out a slope and creating a more graceful grade by installing large 4’ black granite steps. Everything was edged using Colmet to keep the lines clean and they even installed a freestanding outlet in the yard to bring power to the seating area.

There were minor adjustments along the way and the team showed great attention to detail. For instance, the freestanding structure posts required a skirt to conceal the post brackets. These were hand scribed onsite and featured backcut cedar with an elegant slope, cleanly mitrered and sealed joints, and most importantly, sealed undersides to protect them from water damage. Small details like aligning paver joints with the natural lines in the steps or landing, finding materials to patch up areas of the house that were newly exposed by the updated deck profile, and concealing electrical lines were most appreciated. When the inevitable issues arose, Martin walked us through the situation and we quickly reached a suitable outcome that he effectively managed.

I can’t stress enough how hard everyone worked and that effort consistently carried to the end of the day until they cleaned up the jobsite. Tools were neatly arranged and materials were moved into inconspicuous places before the crew left everyday.

The yard looks fantastic and we love spending time out there. We’re extremely happy with their work and would love to work with them again! Highly recommended.

Our experience with Sage and Stone was fantastic! Their work was timely and on budget. We had them change our backyard from a pretty unusable yard with weeds to what I like to describe as “a little piece of the arboretum” complete with a deck, dry creek bed, charming little wooden bridge, espalier trees, and a variety of plants for a “children’s garden”. They also completed the project with irrigation and lighting. Everyone was professional and a delight to work with, in particular Alison Dewey who was our lead designer and went above and beyond to accomplish everything to her perfecting standards. I have never met anyone with as impressive a work ethic as Alison. Thank you Sage and Stone!

This business is being bombarded with 1 star reviews from rightwingers who are mad they stood with the No Kings protestors this past weekend. Something that is not relevant to a review of their business, but only a personally motivated tantrum. My in-laws used this company when having their home built after moving to WA, and I can personally attest to the quality of their work. Google should remove these biased reviews if they want their review process to be considered reliable by any prospective clients for ANY business.

The entire Sage and Stone team was a pleasure to work with. They did an excellent job transforming our backyard. They communicated clearly, performed outstanding work and exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to work with them again.

My landscaping has never been healthier and happier! Sage and Stone's team even managed to revitalize our pear tree that was on the brink. Highly recommend.

I liked Katie Ross right from the start. Super sweet and full of knowledge and excellent ideas for our landscape redesign. She and her gardening counterpart Stephanie took all of our rather particular requests and directions and did a beautiful job (which is saying something, because few things are at their finest in November) and I’m so excited to see it in all its glory this summer. Katie’s frequent and clear communication of timelines, budgets and expectations was super helpful, too.
I would look forward to working with her again, should we ever want to tweak anything or extend the scope.

This is our third time working with Sage and Stone. They transformed our first house almost 10 years ago and our commercial property about five years ago. Now we are in a new house and we knew exactly who we would call to help bring our exterior landscaping up to a really nice standard. We are so pleased with the results. Sage and Stone have people who are proficient in design, plant selection, stone work, carpentry, and electrical and plumbing. ln addition, Sage and Stone uncovered an up-until-then unknown sink hole and associated drainage issue. They were able to fix the issue and repair the sink hole. Whatever we can dream they can create. In particular, I wanted to note that the people at the company are truly amazing. They are positive, extremely knowledgeable, good communicators, and hard workers. We want to give a special shout out to Sage and Stone's lead designer, Katie. She helped us envision our dream yard. Not only was she very good at creating an aesthetically pleasing design that incorporated our various desires, but she has such a deep knowledge in how plants will fair on different parts of the property due to sun exposure and time of year that we really know that everything will look great throughout the year.

Sage and Stone completely transformed the way I care for my outdoor space. I hired them for seasonal maintenance, andthey handled the pruning and shaping of my cherished Japanese maple, which had become overgrown and uneven, beautifully. The tree now looks balanced and healthy.

They also took over the care of my lavender beds, which had been struggling due to poor drainage and neglect. After just a few visits, the plants are thriving and full of new growth.

The team is professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. Highly recommend to anyone looking to elevate their garden care with folks who actually care deeply for plants and what they bring to our wellbeing.

Definitely a reliable partner in maintaining my Pacific Northwest native garden. They've taken care of a mix of rhododendrons, azaleas, ferns, salal, oregon grape, etc— and other plants that need a careful, informed approach.

They handle my seasonal pruning and improved the mulching around the azaleas to help with moisture retention and root health. They also suggested a few simple fixes for drainage that made a noticeable difference. Throughout, they have stayed within the monthly maintenance budget we agreed on, which I appreciate.

The garden looks healthier, more in sync with the landscape. If you're looking for steady, knowledgeable support for a native garden, I would consider this team.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Gabe and team throughout the entire process. We had a narrow backyard we wanted to make the most of. Gabe’s design included a retaining wall, vegetable beds, patio, fire pit with built-in bench seating, a gorgeous cedar wall, lighting and plantings. The best part was his idea to cover the patio so we can get additional use of the backyard outside of the summer months. The use of wood and metal is sleek and fits with our contemporary home. We couldn’t be happier with their responsiveness and quality work.

The Sage and Stone folks were wonderful to work with, every step of the way. They patiently worked with us on a super unique design that incorporated our personalities and interests. They were also mindful of our budget and worked with us on finding something amazing that was practical and worked within budget.

They also were fast and prompt with the construction -- working diligently and quickly through the whole process. When we ran into an issue with undocumented plumbing situation (and interactions with our neighbor), they were great collaborators on coming to an arrangement with our neighbors that resolved the situation satisfactorily for all parties.

Wonderful folks to work with and I completely recommend them for anybody else.

The landscape maintenance team at Sage and Stone have been working at a property of mine for a couple months now and I couldn't be more pleased with their work! You can expect them to be punctual, detail oriented and very knowledgeable in horticulture care. Highly recommend for anyone seeking professional and high quality landscape maintenance.

We had a great experience partnering with everyone at Sage and Stone! The team worked with us for over a year to design and deliver an in-budget landscaping and planting schedule, one that met the design goals -- and navigated tricky new tree regulations -- for our Seattle remodel.

The time we've spent with Katie on plant-selection and care was lovely from start to finish, and we receive complements from passers-by almost daily. After you've finished, we also recommend booking a few hours with Katie to develop the knowledge and confidence needed to care for your new space.

After working with dozens of contractors over the past few years, we can confidently report that Sage and Stone are one of the good ones. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them on our next project!

Our yard had really gotten away from us over the past few years and the folks at sage & stone transformed our overgrown, outdated yard into a sanctuary! They pruned our rhodies to perfection and added some greenery and color to tie the space together. we've brought them on for maintenance since, and we couldn't be happier with the rests. They've been excellent communicators throughout the process. Wonderful and skilled team, highly recommend!

From the first consultation to the final touches, the team was professional, attentive, and highly skilled. They transformed my overgrown yard into a solid outdoor space that brings me a lot of joy. I love the new plant selection, especially the canna lilies and my baby western hemlock.

What really stood out was their clear communication, on-time delivery, and genuine knowledge for what they do. They listened to my ideas, offered creative suggestions, and worked within my budget. I'll definitely keep working with Sage and Stone. Thanks again!

Sage and Stone helped bring our cottage garden to life! We can't say enough great things about Gage, Katie and crew. Everyone was professional, knowledgable and fun to work with. Our finished project is perfection and we are so pleased with the stone paths, garden beds and especially the fantastic rock wall!

We are so happy with the work performed by Sage + Stone. Our project consisted of a range of hardscaping work that included regrading 3 sides of our house, moving and redoing a rock wall, laying pavers, and pouring a preformed concrete driveway. Gabe was a great communicator and worked with us to find creative ways to scale our ambitious transformation project to our budget. Over the course of the job, he checked in regularly and kept us appraised of scheduling and logistical changes. The site crew was amazing — paid attention to the details, put in extra hours to keep the job on schedule and kept a tidy site. Sage + Stone are seasoned professionals worth every penny. I highly recommend their services and would work with them again if I have the opportunity.

Cambium was an excellent partner in helping me with my landscape design. They basically rebuilt my entire yard, adding rock steps and pathways, multiple Pennsyvania Bluestone patios, Fencing with copper piping and highlights. They created 2 different entrances for each unit of my duplex home, giving privacy to each unit. The upper patio has a fountain that gives the area a calming affect. The plantings create a beautiful screen from the street and my neighbors.

Jason is a thoughtful and experienced designer and project manager. From the first call I felt heard and understood. Jason understood my wants and needs and brought the vision and guidance that only a professional can provide.

Cambium was responsible for my landscape remodel. Their design and project management is top notch. Tim and Janielle were both extremely responsive. They are well-versed and experts in their space.

I was especially impressed with Cambium's lighting design. I didn't think being able to enjoy my outdoor space at night would ever be much of a thing.

Finally, I love the tech options! I'm super happy with all the wireless and automated control features around the irrigation and lighting.

We have been working with cambrium for the last couple of years. Tim and team have been excellent partners in building a long term plan for our entire home. So far we have redone our entire back yard. They worked with us on multiple dealing and cost options and were able to land on a decision that worked well for our vision and budget. We are now looking to start the second phase and continue working off their original plans. We appreciate a company that takes their time and ensuring a relationship instead of a sale.
