I hired cambium to do a backyard remodel in 2017. My fence was $17,000 and only the side yard was enclosed. Within months of install I started having problems with the fence. The doors wouldn’t latch, huge gaps on the bottom where my dog could get out and it was uneven in some places. I emailed quite a bit and no one ever came out to fix the fence.

I moved back into the home recently after renting it out. The fence is leaning in places now, huge gap on one gate that is so far that it won’t latch and stays open. The other gate is wedged shut completely from settling. In the middle it’s settled so much that the top is separated from the post by about 2-3 inches. I’ve requested help on this about a half a dozen times to no avail. Basically, $17,000 down the drain. I’ve passed on a significant amount of business to this company with builder friends, used them for a $100k + project at my previous home and others in my neighborhood. I’m surprised that they’ve ghosted me on my bad fence install.

They said they credited me some money but I don’t think they did. Super disappointing!

Don't waste your time with James.

James promised a landscaping quote for weeks. "Four days" turned into another "four days" – rinse, repeat, always assuring us he'd soon have a quote for us but never actually providing one. Avoid the headache and find a landscaper who values your time.

James came in a timely fashion, had great communication like answering all my yard questions, and was very respectful. He told me his plan on landscaping my yard and delivered it precisely, as well as finishing it by the timeline he promised. I highly recommend him!

James was fantastic! Our yard has been a mud mess the last two years despite aeration and all of our attempts to fix it. He gave us three quotes and options for how to fix it; along with his ideas of which would fit best with our future goals of the space. He finished the work in 3 days, and came back to spray down all the mud on the concrete from it completely raining on him the second day. He gave us his professional opinion regarding the next steps for our goal, even if it wasn’t the idea we had in mind but his knowledge from what he noticed during his work saved us from wasting money, and our yard is already dry after raining when normally it would be soaked for 2 days following. Cannot wait to use him again for any future landscaping! Can’t recommend him enough.

These guys did an amazing job transforming our Jumanji-like back patio into a beautiful and functional space. They were professional, efficient, and paid great attention to detail, ensuring every paver was perfectly placed. They maintained regular communication with us for ad hoc modifications based on space and existing vegetation that we wanted to keep.

James is really professional and knows what he is doing. He really cares about your lawn and did a great job with my yard and definitely will have him help over in the future. I contacted Beacon Hill for a backyard project we were thinking about. James offered to take a look, explained their process and some options, developed a quick proposal, and patiently answered our lingering questions. While we ended up going in a different direction, I wouldn't hesitate to bid out any similar projects in the future.

Rarely find honest and truly helpful contractors these days but I’m really thankful I met James. He had a ton of knowledge about the ‘right of way’ on our parking lot and materials we should use for our commercial property that other companies either didn’t know about or just didn’t want to deal with. Highly recommend these guys as we had a great experience!

They did a great cleanup job, collecting everything that was cut and cleaning the street along the curb, pressure washing stairs, ... it turned out great.

James installed a 5 zone irrigation system for our house which turned out great!

Before this project started, I had multiple contractors take a look at my property and give me a quote for an irrigation system. James definitely took the most amount of time to look at the yard before giving an estimate. He took measurements and drew up a diagram of the plan which gave me a lot of confidence in him. James worked many long hours to get the job done, even through the pouring rain. He had a great attitude the whole time and was a pleasure to work with. Throughout the whole process, I had many questions for him as I wanted to understand the process, and James was always patient and happy to answer everything that I asked. He even pointed out some things about my house unrelated to irrigation that I should pay attention to or get fixed. I was super appreciative of this as that was not part of the job but he went out of his way to help me out.

One minor issue was that he accidentally hit an underground drain pipe with the trencher without noticing which resulted in my backyard being flooded. The problem was fixed within a couple days and my yard went back to normal which was good.
