Courteous, attentive, and he listened. He explained himself.and what he was doing. Dan did a great job of showing his intern what he was doing and why, as a retired teacher, that was well done. Good job. Thank you. Patick. They just installed a 3 zone mininsplit carrier system. They went the extra mile to listen and accomplish the job. Thanks you Alexis.

Dan was great. Buy him a great lunch.

Another review 12/24- Joe was phenomenal to work with. Took the time to show what was wrong with our furnace. Took out time on Christmas Eve to talk with our home warranty insurance provider. Made the process seamless. Great guy.

Very poor customer service. We asked for a bid. No follow up, when called got answering service. They no showed for two appointments. This was all at the beginning when we were trying to order a new furnace.
We got the sense they may be very short staffed. We ended up going w another company.

Ray was great!! Very polite and informative. Took time to explain and was great with my dogs. Personality goes a long way in the service providers industry! Hurliman is lucky to have him!!

Blake and his team were thoroughly professional, polite, and efficient. They installed a new A/C and two new ducts for the heating/cooling system in less than five hours. They left the place clean and tidy inside and out. A pleasant experience in all ways.

Anthony came to our home for repair- system was dead. Josh and Eric came out just a couple days later and installed our new Trane heat pump and furnace. All the service folk were friendly, hard working and kind. What a great staff.

My most recent project with Hurliman was installation of A/C unit and also replacement of Hot Water heater. The Hurliman team was totally amazing. Friendly, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and very hardworking. Chris Miller went over and above to assist me. Project Manager Sean, Shawna and office staff were there for my questions and support. I was very impressed with Ray and Josh and their work ethics. I have worked with Robert on previous occasions and he is great!! Thanks again to this team!!

Grayson is very knowledgeable. Two days ago he diagnosed our furnace problem as not capable of attaining safe blower speed and needed replacement. The furnace is 31 yrs old, has been regularly serviced but the motor needed replacement. He returned today and replaced the blower motor in less than an hour. Checked everything out to make sure the furnace was working properly. He is friendly and very competent.

They did a great job installing the A/C in my home. They did good in sealing up everything to make sure noo pest would come inside later. The Trane unit they installed is working like a charm.

We had a new HVAC system installed and and had an issue. Kyle came out to trouble shoot and work on our new system. He along with the dispatch were very responsive. Kyle was hat the house for about 2 hours and made several adjustment and was going to follow up with the service manager. Kyle was very determined to find the cause.

James was knowledgeable and helpful in inspecting my furnace with no sales pressure. I decided it was time for an upgrade and Eric and team did a great job of removing my old furnace and installing the new. Eric was also great about answering my questions and making sure I was comfortable with the new system. They did a great job of leaving the area clean.

Had this company come out for service, they were promoting eight dollar maintenance charge at home depot. When their technician arrived, he insisted my furnace needed an additional $200 maintenance charge. I didn’t want to do it, but he insisted and told me my furnace was not running properly, and it was overheating. Before he showed up, it was working perfectly fine. So be careful if you’re ever at Home Depot and this company is sitting there advertising an eight dollar service fee for maintenance on your furnace. It will probably be more than that….its a scam!

(UPDATE: I responded to the email that was provided, I called the office as directed and no follow up. No answer and no response.... I waited for them to do the right thing and replace this. I finally got someone over from a different company because I was tired of being cold and they fixed the fan… this is after having 2 of Hirlimans people over to fix it. It took the guy 10 minutes. He actually gave me readings of the motor and the compressor and told me it is running fine. He said that a wire was detached that was the only reason it didn’t work! Shady company very shady!!! Stay away!)

I scheduled a furnace tune-up and 21-point inspection through Home Depot because I wanted to maintain my system and help it run as long as possible. My furnace was running fine but they had a little table inside the store that said $8.88 tune-up. I was like what's the catch and she said they just wanted their name out there more and if anything went wrong they would come back and fix it, so I thought no brainier.

Immediately after the service was completed, the furnace stopped working. The blower now hums but does not spin, and there is a burning smell. The unit was functioning normally before the appointment.

After reporting the issue, I was told the blower motor had failed and was also told that the unit had been “non-operational” prior to the visit. That is not accurate. The furnace was working before the technician arrived, and I would not have scheduled a tune-up if it had already been non-functional. I have video proof of people in my house the day before furnace working great, eye witnesses and a roommate that is freezing in my basement now till I figure this out.

The appointment felt more like a sales consultation than a maintenance service. No cleaning was performed, and the reason I booked the tune-up was to extend the life of my furnace not to be told it needed major replacement without being provided documented diagnostic readings.

I asked continuously, was on the phone multiple times with them, and was told that since it was old it was time to replace it anyway. I have kept it going for this long and in the world I grew up in if you break it you should replace it. What I experienced is they broke it, blame me for it, and ofter to replace it for $1600.

When I requested documentation of capacitor and amp draw measurements, none were provided. Instead of addressing the immediate failure following the service, I was offered a refund of the tune-up fee.

I have escalated the matter through Home Depot. Homeowners should ensure they receive clear documentation and detailed diagnostics when scheduling maintenance services.

The technicians were outstanding—knowledgeable, professional, and went above and beyond to fix issues like a leaking return duct, install the backordered UV light, and properly connect the second stage of the furnace (which wasn't hooked up correctly during initial install).

Sales rep Dan was likable and low-pressure overall, though we felt a bit rushed to put down a deposit the same day.

However, the office staff was unhelpful and rude: they misplaced our large payment check but didn't call to update us (no apology), sighed audibly over basic questions, ignored follow-up requests and an email complaint, and made us feel like a nuisance after getting our money.

Initial install had errors (single-stage only, gaps causing leaks), and no one warned us that the two-stage furnace would be extremely loud on high—now it sounds like a waterfall, forcing us to turn up the TV. We regret not going single-stage for quieter operation and lower cost.

Also concerned about potential AC issues come summer, and unresolved billing question on a thermostat we kept (our Nest) but were apparently charged for.

Techs saved this from being worse, but poor office communication and incomplete info during sales left us frustrated and nervous about future problems.

Edit: Shawna called at 5:50 p.m. while we were getting ready for dinner. She said she would text me her personal number and asked me to call her back at my convenience. I have not called her back yet. I'm not sure what more could be accomplished with a follow-up call anyway. The installation issue has already been resolved. Trust isn't going to be rebuilt with a phone conversation at this point. My hope is that there are no further problems with the AC this summer. As soon as the current contract expires, I plan to cancel the Home Care package (currently $400/year).

Final Edit. 3/6/26 We called a different HVAC company experienced with Trane systems to investigate the excessive air noise from our new unit. The technician discovered several issues although the new unit is the same nominal size as the old one, it is a two-stage, higher-efficiency model.
The existing ductwork is undersized for this particular unit, which is the root cause of the noise (and likely reduced performance/efficiency).

He explained that proper professionals would have recognized this mismatch during the sales or design phase. Better options at the time of installation could have included switching to a single stage unit, or installing a 96% efficient single-stage Trane unit, rerouting the outside vent to the unit itself, and properly sizing the intake.

Either of those approaches would have been compatible with our existing ductwork, saved us money, and avoided the current problems. Unfortunately, those options are no longer viable. As a workaround, the technician turned down the second stage to reduce noise while preventing the unit from overheating. He also found that the AC unit had never been properly configured on the control board. It was still running on factory default settings. He reprogrammed it for a true 3-ton capacity. He cautioned that the air conditioning will likely be noticeably louder this summer due to the ductwork limitations, but this was the best adjustment possible without major duct modifications. He also recommended running the fan continuously ("fan on" mode) to improve air circulation in our home, carefully explained the pros and cons, and advised that it makes sense in our specific situation. Overall, Hurliman Heating & Cooling was a major disappointment. From the initial sale through the final installation, they performed the bare minimum and failed to address critical compatibility issues. We feel misled and overcharged. I'm genuinely shocked by their 5-star reviews—our experience was far from excellent. I would not recommend them and regret choosing them for this project.

With summers staying hotter these days, finally decided to have A/C installed. The install crew, led by Talon and Damian, did a great job, very friendly and efficient. Arrived before 9am, as promised, worked steadily in the hot sun till the job was complete, cleaned up and finished before 3pm, and my house was nicely cool by 5. Well done!

My experience with Dan was fantastic! He arrived on the job enthusiastic and ready to do my AC tune up. But the unit was not working so he explained the process and price up front for diagnostics. Dan let me ask questions so I could better learn my system while he was trouble shooting. He was able to get my older system running and showed me where my system was landing with energy efficiency. He discussed possible options for both repair and replacement. He was respectful of my home and equipment working as if it were his own property. I will welcome Dan and his team back next time I need help!
