Constraction reviews in Sumner, Washington

Turned off power to a memory care facility at 8pm with no prior contact with business. I gave them more then one star because they did the work faster then they estimated after confronting them.

So the flagging company they use put there signs right in front of the garbage cans preventing a pick up so I moved the sign. Only to be told I'm going to jail they moved it back. So I moved it two more times and called the flagging company when the Forman working on the lines and two other workers came to my house in a threatening way. Told them to go not in a nice way. They moved the sign down the street and ultimately those trash cans were not picked up. Very rude employees who think they are the cops. Not ok especially at 8:30 in the morning. Very unprofessional!

These incompetent lazy slackers are leaving an entire town in the cold and dark. A tree is on a line. Other, more capable, teams are there and could do the work but because of union rules no one can work till these losers show up. Half a day later, still waiting.

Meet with your drivers and have them stop mak8ng illegal turns into do not enter roads and follow traffic laws when they are in a company vehicle.

This is for all the reviews claiming that potelco should "pay to park", not park on shoulders or partially in your yard, and how people rely on those area to park themselves. Do you rely on your electricity? Do you turn your lights on to walk into your home at night, use a machine to wash your clothes, or a electric stove to eat hot meals? If you answered yes to any of that...SHAME ON YOU FOR SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING WHEN THESE GUYS ARE WORKING A VERY DANGEROUS VERY TIRING JOB SO THAT YOU MAY KEEP EVERY PRECIOUS ITEM YOU HAVE RUNNING ON POWER AVAILABLE TO YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT! Walk your lazy self or find alternate means for the moment. This company and each of its workers has only your needs in mind so how about a little gratitude and acceptance of a temporary set back.

Thank you for working so hard during such horrible weather these last few days in Skagit and Island county. (Jan 2024) Our power was on sooner than we anticipated and we are grateful. Also thinking of the spouses that are w/out their loved ones for long periods during these times. You deserve some attention too!

I am sitting next to a loud diesel truck in the Edmonds ferry line, 3:40pm 3/16/22. After calling Potelco and reporting truck #04 4020
fifteen minutes ago, the truck is still running. Tell me why anyone is running a mid-size diesel work truck while waiting 45 minutes in the ferry line? Why do we have to have the pollution and the ridiculous noise? Why are your fleet drivers so poorly uninformed? Why wasn’t this driver called and told to turn the truck off? At nearly 5 dollars a gallon for diesel right now this driver is spending a ridiculous amount of money, spewing fumes and noise. This is completely unnecessary. There is no reason why this truck should be running and your company needs to take a proactive approach to making sure this ridiculous practice ceases. -
Poles were being replaced and power was scheduled to be out for 6 hours. my wife is on oxygen, they said they could help us out. when they got ready to turn power off they brought over a generator with a cord to reach the oxygen concentrator so we didn't have to worry about time. the work was done quickly i had portable for her, but the battery would have needed charging in the car. luckily they were very quick, even if i did need to charge in car it would only have been maybe 20 minutes. very nice, efficient and polite. Thank you Potelco.

First was waiting for one month to disconnect gas line then to disconnect power line for a week now two weeks to reconnect power to temporary post. Crew came on scheduled day looked at it, took a picture and left when I called in customer service told me that something was blocking same time on construction property we had many workers who could clear anything from there way, but they have not told anyone anything and now have to wait one more week. They coast me so far over $8000 payroll to construction company for standby. They have monopoly for sure in the country, where it is against the law.

Routinely parks oversized flatbed trailers in residential neighborhoods without permits for 4+ days at a time and over weekends - most recently, they placed their cones through an entire state issued street handicap parking spot. When the trailer was finally gone, a nearby lawn was left shredded after being used to turn around. As other reviewers have mentioned, they obstruct trash pickup. There is hardly room for one car to make it through the street when cars are parked in either side, let alone with your trailers in the way. Residents rely on the street for parking, and street access for trash pickup. We also expect our yards will not be used as a driveway for your vehicles. You aren’t getting proper permits and are expecting people to abide by orange cones just because you put them there. Pay to park your trailers and equipment like a respectable company.

Most unprofessional staff in Bremerton ever. Flipping off homeowners, not giving directions, not following local guidelines. Shouldn’t be in business. If you cursed out your customer would you have a job next week? Didn’t think so.

Not a customer service company. Absolutely no communication from them as they trash through properties. Low bid contractors that run behind schedule due to poor organization and minimal days in the field.

We were scheduled for a power outage today for pole work. They did not show up and did not let us know that it was cancelled. It was so disruptive, very inconsiderate and unprofessional! This has totally ruined our Labor Day vacation plans. So far no word from Potelco about the cancellation or change in rescheduling.
If I hadn’t called them directly myself, I would still be sitting a waiting. Two phone calls later and no return call!
Seattle Public Utilities finally gave me a call back. -
"People first" was the slap in the face I saw when going to their website after my interaction with their team today. My wife was at home and called in a panic saying we have no power and the house is heating up fast. We care for a few rescue bunnies who do not handle heat well at all and we were immediately worried about keeping them cool. She ran outside surprised to see 2 guys in our yard. We didn't know were there. it was Potelco. who came out to the property we rent , When she asked, with me still in the phone if they knew why the power was out the guy said "yea" and she said "umm, okay why?" "We got an order to remove the power from the meter.", "when will it be back on?" All she got back was a shrug. My problem isn't they did their workorder. Its with a car in the driveway, they walked past two running window units, and pulled the power, not a knock, not a warning, ZERO effort to warn us about being without power, no effort to see if someone would be there to hook up the new meter, When I got home a guy was sitting in the truck enjoying his ac. While another guy worked. I asked so no warning he said "nope" when I asked who i could talk to about this i got a "company names on the side of the truck" they were unprofessional and uncaring. I later learned they were here outside of the appointment time frame set by the property management company so they would have someone there to hook up the new power. I was told they had been expect the week before. But hey *shrug* am I right? it's only 88 out and you having power isn't their problem. Making sure the people living in the house are aware they are about to be out of power at 12:30pm. not their problem. I had to leave work to put our pets in the car to keep cool while someone rushed out to hook up the power. Calling the main line to talk to someone? good luck they wont answer. Just a little effort would have gone a long way, one knock, one warning, anything.

**I wish I could have given no stars!!!***
This company’s customer service and communication are extremely poor. There was no notice whatsoever that they would be doing pole work on my street, which happens to be a dead end. When I tried to take my children to school this morning, the entire road was blocked off.
After finally getting through and returning home, I found not one but two large trucks blocking the road again. When I asked about it, a worker had the nerve to ask if I’d “be leaving and coming back to my own house a lot today.” The lack of respect and professionalism is astonishing.
A simple notice or courtesy alert would have allowed me to plan ahead and avoid this unnecessary frustration. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a pattern of disorganization and disregard for residents. I’ll be reaching out to Seattle City Light to file a complaint about this contractor’s handling of the project. Residents deserve better communication and respect. -
One of their employee drivers drove directly into my friends (perfectly parked) vehicle as well as myself while walking to the vehicle.
Even with direct visual evidence and their own driver admitting fault, they continue to give the reasons for why the process hasn't began. -
Well, I sure hope they do better work than they do drive! Just had one of their trucks completely cut me off trying to get on 101 headed south to I-5. He ran all the way up the shoulder pushing me into the next lane of packed traffic. Fortunately the cars next to me saw him and made room for me to get pushed into their lane. SMFH!!! I suggest some driver training!

A++ the owner himself came out for an emergency call. Upstairs bathroom leaked to downstairs. Showed up about 1:15am and couldn't have been any nicer. They were nothing but amazing and put my nerves at ease!

Jesse took great care of us. When we recovered our stolen vehicle there was drug stuff everywhere. We took it to the pros. 5 stars
