Scheduled an appointment 3 weeks earlier for these guys to come out December 5th. Not a problem I know it’s busy season. The time allotted was between 3-5 and they said they’d give a 30 minute call ahead. So I took time off work so I could be home that time frame. I’m sure you know where this is going, but come 430 I haven’t heard anything from them, so I call. Got their voicemail, and left a message. It is know the 9th and still no word from them. It’s a shame because no I’ve wasred so much time with these guys that I don’t think I’ll be able to have my fireplace fixed before winter is over. I don’t know how anyone can stay in business with this lack of work ethic. Stay Away.

Old school professionalism and craftsmanship for a 1920's historic Northend home chimney rebuild. Historically accurate in all aspects. Reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended!

My previous review that I did was 2 stars due to the never contacting me after an apoitment was made.. they reached out to me and let me know there was a family emergency and they were unable to get to us and we got lost in the shuffle afterwards. That to me speaks volumes.. family is #1 and I get it they apologized and that means a lot for a business to do that. I rescheduled with them they came and did the work and it was fantastic. Thanks for being awesome..

We love South Sound Sweeps. They are the best. Some might think a chimney clean and repair job will get messy. Not so! Clean as clean can be. (And I learn something new with every visit!)

Mike went out of his way to help repair my chimney after a bad storm brought a tree down on my home and severely damaged my chimney, leaving a gaping hole in my roof. With some photos, measurements, and some back and forth communication, Mike was able to provide me a quote and come out on short notice to repair my chimney. His communication was great, he was prompt, courteous, he stuck to the original estimate he provided, and after he repaired the chimney, he took the time to inspect the stove pipe and wood stove and make the necessary repairs inside the home as well. Mike went out of his way to help out a homeowner in a pinch and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I couldn't say anything better about my experience working with him. Thank you Mike!

Unreliable, poor customer service for chimney sweeping. They scheduled work at my home a month out, then two days before the scheduled date, they cancelled in order to do a masonry job. They told either I would have to be available for them to come to my home the next day or wait another month.

These guys are the best. They showed up for the estimate on time and showed up for the job on time and then checked in to make sure we were satisfied, which we are. Their communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Would highly recommend them.

South Sound Sweeps did a tear-down and rebuild of the chimney at my house. They also repaired some brick work on the front of the house. All work is outstanding. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Excellent service and communication. Last July South Sound Sweeps inspected the seven(!!) flues in the house we just purchased, and took care of cleaning--only the ones that needed it. They also rebuilt a chimney and installed a new wood stove in our cabin. Mike and Nick are both very friendly and didn't even mind our giant dog bothering them. Pricing is competitive, but it is the level of service and communication that sets them apart. I am expecting them today to clean the chimney and I feel confident they will deliver a top notch service yet again.

Nick and Mike fixed a fireplace ducting and vent issue that I encountered after siding renovation. All the other companies I called couldn’t fix my issue. They investigated the problem thoroughly and made sure that all the correct parts were ordered to do the job right. I’m very pleased with their work and can’t recommend South Sound Sweeps enough!

Nick was incredibly swift to respond to my requests to have my chimney swept. He ensured I was 100% satisfied with the even higher than expected level of service. I had expected only to have my chimney swept, but he went over and beyond my expectations. He helped me properly evaluate the chimney, as well as all future repair/maintenance costs, as well as providing the immediate service needed. Nick and Mike would great to work worth! Super responsible, on time, did excellent work! I would definitely recommend them. They took out a very large concrete old hearth in my home, kept the area clean, and did a great job. Thank you!

Upon arrival tried to upsell me for a simple job, then offered financing. Seems shady to me.

The job was well done. The only hiccup was on clean-up. During the sweeping of excess materials off the roof, much of the fine, sandy matter went onto the deck below and all over the deck furniture. But all in all, we were satisfied.

Our initial experience trying to find someone to repair our chimney caps was horrible due mainly to many contractors either not returning calls, not following up, or just plain not showing up. It was a relief to finally find a company that responded and was professional in their operations. This two-man partnership worked together in bidding the job and completing the work. The top cement caps had deteriorated after a number of years, and water was seeping in and down to create efflorescence on interior brick work. It appears that this industry is quite busy, but South Sound worked us in and they followed through and completed the work in a timely fashion, even going beyond to repair a leak around the exhaust pipe for our water heater that extends through the roof and also coming back later to remove debris from our roof, which I mistakenly thought was left by them (turned out it was from some painters!--but they were very gracious about handling it for us.) If you are looking for chimney specialists, be forewarned that many of these contractors just simply do not respond or procrastinate in following up. South Sound is one of the rare ones that apparently take their business seriously and cherish their professionalism.

Nick came out to do a chimney inspection and sweep if needed on our new home today, and I've already referred a friend to call him for the work she needs done.

Nick was very polite, professional, answered my multiple questions, and was very communicative about when he would be arriving and what he noticed. He even screwed in the flashing our roofer neglected to secure while he was doing the inspection at no charge!

The inspection showed that we would need a total crown replacement, but that otherwise everything else was good to go. We will 100% be contacting him again to do the crown replacement and eventual install of a wood burning stove insert.

I first came across SS Sweeps at a mutual Job site where they were cleaning the chimney of a client. I knew I was way overdue for a chimney cleaning myself, so scheduled them to come out. I'm a little outside their normal service area, but they arrived on time. They did the cleaning at the agreed upon price and also showed me signs of decay in my chimney that could be hazardous. We talked about and they gave me advice about possible solutions one of which I had been considering doing anyway for some time: Installing a stove insert into my brick fireplace. After explaining that if properly installed with a flue liner such a device would not only provide the more efficient burn I have been desiring, but would also halt continued decay on my clay flue tiles, I asked them if they could install it for me. Soon the parts were in and the new stove installed. I'm comfortable sitting in front of that warm burning wood stove now while writing this review. It is very efficient, easy to operate, looks nice, and was very professionally installed. This is an excellent company to work with. As a home service professional specializing in Wildlife Pest Control, myself, I have a pretty high standard of knowledge, skills, and conduct by other service professionals, and I now feel very comfortable recommending South Sound Sweeps to my clients that may be in need of chimney or stove work in the future.
