EJ's did a fantastic job servicing our AC! The system had developed a leak, and stopped working. EJ was able to isolate the faulty piece of equipment, replace it with a new piece, and cleaned and recharged the system all in a day. He was very professional, conscientious, prompt and clean. We now have a local go-to HVAC contractor. I recommend EJ's without hesitation.

The owner was super honest, knowledgeable, and professional. He exceeded my expectations! While doing the work he wore booties over his shoes and put drop cloths down to keep from tracking in the house from outside ( which made my wife happy). We are thankful to have found EJ. He was beyond flexible with us and worked around our other contractors schedules to help us complete our job. We had a pretty big job and were impressed with how quickly it was done. He replaced our entire HVAC system, converted it to a dual fuel system from gas, replaced our water heater with a tankless, and ran all new ducting through our home; hiding it neatly in our attic. He was kind, fair, and trustworthy.

EJ came out to repair an approximately 40 year old furnace that had stopped working. I called him on a Friday and he was out on Monday morning. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix the furnace without trying to tell me I should just buy a new furnace. He also explained a lot about the furnace to me which was helpful and indicated to me that he was knowledgeable. I am happy that the furnace didn‘t need to be replaced. The price was fair and I‘m excited that I now have an HVAC contractor I can recommend.

Our 22 year-old furnace finally followed our AC unit that died a year before. We can survive a few weeks of heat, but not the months of cold we experience here in the Pacific NW. We were interested in the Mitsubishi ducted Hyper-Heating Heat Pump solutions as a replacement for both heating and cooling, but were very nervous about selecting a contractor for the install. Ej's Ideal Heating & Cooling gave us a competitive quote. Our confidence in having this company install this system grew as we talked with the owner, EJ. EJ has many years of hands-on experience as an installer and running several install teams, and has already installed a similar system in his own home. He worked with us on our concerns and did everything possible to ensure we were comfortable with everything we were getting in terms of products, services, and future maintenance. During the install, EJ and his tech were very professional, friendly, and ensured everything was working to our satisfaction and comfort before leaving (after 9pm) - as a few technical difficulties arose and were resolved. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new HVAC system; they took great care of us. We've been living in comfort with the new system for more than a week now, and look forward to many years with it - hopefully, 22 or more!

EJ was very responsive, was the first to provide an estimate even though he wasn't the first company to come assess my home, and ended up being the most reasonably priced and accommodating. He came himself to provide the estimate, installed my 4 mini split ductless system all by himself, and was finished when he said he would be. He went above and beyond, checking in after a few days to check how the system was running, and checking on potential issues that weren't quite his to sort. He provided recommendations for local contractors for other remodeling projects who have so far turned out to be reputable and reliable as well. Great service. Nice man. Highly recommend.

Exceptional response, knowledgeable recommendations, and service. We inherited a 21 year old A/C unit when we purchased our home in 2025. It's been leaking water & the condensation pump & pipes were full of sludge. We contacted a different HVAC company a neighbor recommended and after two visits, the issue was still not fixed & overall it was less than acceptable. I was referred to EJ by Aaron at EcoNorthwest and I'm very happy I called. I called EJ and he was able to come by the same day, diagnose & repair the issue at a very reasonable rate. I would HIGHLY recommend EJ’s Ideal Heating & Cooling to anyone looking for a true professional to handle your HVAC needs. On July 17th we had just returned from Vegas where it was a blistering 110+ degrees, only to walk off the plane in Portland to an almost identical heatwave. When we got home it was almost as hot in our house (I prefer 67 personally) because the A/C was completely out and nothing was working. Anticipating I would probably be waiting until fall to get an appt, I started to make some phone calls. Fortunately for us, EJ’s Ideal was one of the first I contacted and he said he could come out the very NEXT MORNING! Not only did he get it running within about an hour before it got ridiculously hot, I had him return two days later for a full HVAC maintenance. He could not have been a nicer guy, and he was very professional, clean, and knowledgeable as well. I will now be using EJ’s Ideal for ANY of my future HVAC needs, and everyone else should as well. TOP TIER!!

EJ replaced my existing Daikin mini split with a new 18,000 btu Mitsubishi. We signed an agreement on Tuesday. By noon on Thursday, the unit was installed, inspected, and working perfectly. EJ registered the product online for me. 10 year warranty. Quality work. A perfect install. He even hauled off my old unit and vacuumed my floor.

We have had a great experience with Ej’s they have done excellent work both times and last year during very cold weather our furnace quit working in the afternoon so I called Ej’s. They were working on another job at that time but said the would come and help us when they finished. They got here and worked till they got us going again at 7pm ! What a great company! We had heat again!
