Reviews of local pros in Walla Walla, Washington

I needed my approximately 15 foot tall overgrown evergreen shrub trimmed. Checked with some different lawn services and they didn't feel like they could do it properly. Gave Walla Walla Landscaping a call and he said it would be no problem to get it looking good again. John Palmer the owner and his helper WIIL came out and did a good job and didn't charge me much. I would highly recommend them and they do a lot more besides that

John came out to bid work for our backyard/stream. The bid came via text two weeks later after I reached out to confirm if he was still planning to bid.
He returned the next week to bring a copy of the bid/contract and collect the down payment (large). He walked the property, confirmed the plan, took the check and we haven’t seen him since.
The check cleared the next day. Absolutely no response since (email, text, phone call). So I went to visit the office in person. When I got there, the office was being emptied of all material. I spoke with the property manager who said he could also not reach anyone.
There is an answering service taking calls, but no one is returning ours. We have called numerous times.
I 100% expect we have lost our money.
And, we also heard he left town and that others are in a similar situation.
If you know him or see him, we’d like our money back. -
John Palmer Came out and bid 3 projects for 10k not to go over and was agreed upon, on chicken scratch estimate he did not put the price on it. They did not do any prep work for our gravel driveway and it needs constant spraying, it was supposed to be 3 inches but is less than 1/2 inches in some spots. They were supposed to landscape fabric and that did not happen but there were some guys wanting around weed whacking. They were supposed to clear a small spot by our pump, that was not done. Lastly they were edge the inside of the yard and fabric that and to put in barriers, they scraped it but no fabric or barriers. After only working mostly on the drive way for 3 days they handed me a bill for 16k with projects not completed and supposed to tell me when they were close to 10k. We had to get a lawyer involved and John sent threats over text message and threatened to harass me at my work place and kids schools. Also a lot of high reviews are from the owners and registered agents so read all the reviews before you make a decision.

Anyone had dealings with John Palmer and Walla Walla Landscaping? This man gave us a bid for work, took a down payment of $4200 and was to begin the work yesterday. He was a no show and will not return any calls or text or has he returned our money!!! I am so disgusted. $4200 gone and no patio or landscape curbing. A theif and a liar is what that man is. Buyer beware!!!!

For the record, I would like for everyone to know about Walla Walla Landscaping. These guys really do amazing work. From Landscape Design to job completion you will be very glad you hired this company.
We hired them to help improve the curb appeal of our property, so we could sell our home quickly.
They gave us a fixed bid on the job of $14,500. Which was substantially lower than the other quotes we received. When the work was completed one week later, we truly had an amazing new landscape that was the talk of the neighborhood. But the really neat part about all this was when our realtor raised the asking price by $45,000. And we were closing on the property 3 weeks later at the full asking price.
The guys at Walla Walla Landscaping are second to none in our book and we would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs landscaping work done. Thanks! -
Not a good business. Why are all these great reviews on here? Is John Palmer paying people to do good reviews for him now? To be fair, his crew did good work. However, the bill I received was DOUBLE what we agreed upon for total budget. No calls or communication to tell me he was exceeding an agreed upon budget. You can't mess with people's money like that. I realized - after the fact - that his written bid only included the up front payment to get started on my project. Not the total amount of the project which in hindsight was likely done on purpose. I chose not to pursue litigation but I wouldn't be surprised if others have sued for this same scam. I was definitely victimized by this business.

We used Walla Walla Landscaping to do curbing around our place. I thought by getting someone with the years of experience I would get a better job done. The prep work was really good. The curbing is terrible. I called and texted and they never responded back. We paid $3000 more than other quotes thinking we would get a better job done. Save your money and go with the other guys. Walla walla landscaping is not worth the extra cost.
It has been a year now and the curbing is falling apart. I would not recommend Walla Walla Landscaping to anyone. There are better people who do better work. -

***BEWARE*** DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE! THEY HAVE NO CLUE ON HOW TO FIX NEW APPLIANCES AT ALL, THEN CHARGE YOU AND SAY ITS THE MOTHERBOARD WHEN IT;S CLEARLY NOT. CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY KNEW THE PROBLEM INSTANTLY. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!
Your response is typical. Just say we dont know who you are so you dont look bad. But you sure had no problem taking my money!!!!
