We've worked with Chad's on a number of projects over the last 5 years. They've always been through in their designs and extremely communicative during construction. Each project we've worked with them on has exceeded expectations.

This team was outstanding from design concept to finish. While it took some time to get on their schedule, once the project began (add a room for a sewing studio to the back of house-about 400 square feet), it was almost flawless. 1. I was kept informed throughout the construction about what was going to happen each day. 2. With any step explanation for each part of the construction was readily forthcoming (with demonstrations). 3. The quality of the project continues to amaze me. 4. Each member of the team listened to me and implemented each request. The cabinetry installed was designed for my particular needs. 5. All attempts to reuse existing materials were made. An outside door, flooring and railing from an existing deck was reused. 6. The project finished 2 weeks ahead of schedule. 7. All workmen made sure all debris was removed each day.
A special shout-out to Tate whose expertise made this new space particularly beautiful. And--he even made sure I didn't drive when conditions were particularly icy!!
I heard many awful stories about projects that went off the rails but this team works together to make sure it is clear sailing. Many of them have been with the company for years--a strong endorsement. I cannot thank them enough for the fabulous space I will be enjoying for years to come.

Chad's Design did a great job on my back and side porch project. They are courteous and easy to work with - with a lot of local care and charm. Would recommend them and work with them again.

*** 9/18/24 - Updating this review from many months ago because though I remember Chad and the contentious and uncomfortable conversation we had, he doesn't remember me or that discussion because he just emailed me to "check in". Hopefully he keeps better track of his actual customers.

It appears lots of folks have good experiences with this firm, but I'm not one of them, and I'm leaving this review because the other one star reviews also noted this behavior so I think it's important for people to be aware of.

I had hoped to hire Chad's for a substantial renovation project and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. I was disappointed to discover that Chad was consistently condescending and disrespectful throughout the entire phone call. Instead of having our discussion in a professional manner, he accused me of having "trust issues". (What a thing to say to anyone, especially a woman, right?)

This behavior was completely unacceptable and made me feel uncomfortable and unheard. The behavior created unnecessary tension and stress throughout the call. I can't imagine how the project would have gone.

Here's hoping it was a bad day for Chad and that others don't have this issue. I won't be hiring them.

We wanted to add a screen porch onto our house but we had an unusual roofline. Three other contractors did not want to deal with the situation and ghosted us. Chad’s Design came and talked with us. They came up with a very simple solution to our problem. We found them to be very professional and timely with their communication with us. We love our porch! We envision spending a lot of time out there.

The team at Chad's Design Build is amazing. They are personable and great at listening. They use our services for their projects when they come across lead or asbestos or mold. They are always professional, and timely in their communications. I would love to work more with Chad's team!

We were impressed with the listening by Chad and the entire team. They truly did listen and advocate for us. Even during this time of great challenge (the pandemic), we were able to safely have them work on our home and navigate all the permitting issues and extra challenges of this time. We always felt safe, listened to and worked with as partners. Our lead carpenter was Zack and he was fantastic. Kevin, the project manager, was extremely responsive and has continued to respond and offer insight after the job has been complete. We highly recommend Chad and the entire team.

After considering other companies, we hired Chads for an extensive kitchen, back porch, office, and exterior remodel. We are so glad that we did. Their quality of work is excellent, the work team was communicative and professional; and they were flexible about discussing and implementing new plans and ideas. They were transparent about costs and open to discussing options. We love how everything turned out and have been enjoying our “new” home for almost a year.

Chads Design Build is by far the best company I have contracted with for my home remodeling projects. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and all projects were completed on time. I have additional remodeling projects in mind for the next year and I will definitely be contacting Chads to contract for these projects.

We did a significant remodel that touched on every level of our home, including adding an egress window to create a safe bedroom in the basement, an ADA-compliant bathroom on the first floor, and remodel of existing bedrooms to create an office, bedroom retreat, and second-floor laundry. Kevin and Chris on the design team were awesome, helping us think about the pros and cons of our choices to help us get a finished product that we love, and works well for us. Jason the project manager helped everything stay on track, and the lead carpenter, Zack did some very high quality custom work that we treasure. The project came in on budget, and on time. We couldn't be happier!

Chads updated our 35 year old kitchen in 2023 with new cabinets, hardware, appliances, and layout. We selected the appliances and told them our suggestions for the changes we thought about making. For the most part they agreed with our ideas and suggested others that we felt were spot on. Josh was the lead carpenter and did an excellent job. He was very meticulous, made sure we were on board with his recommendations, kept the work area clean, and kept us informed of his schedule. We couldn't have asked for a better craftsman. His support team was always available to help with any issues and the project was completed on time. Teresa and Kevin were very instrumental in finding the right materials and designing the best layout. A schedule when things would be done was provided, which was very helpful. We love our new kitchen and frequently comment to one another that this or that turned out so beautifully. We highly recommend Chads Design Build.

Chad and his team are professional and friendly. The quality of their work is why we keep coming back to them. They did some trim work for us several years ago. When we finally decided to finish the project in other rooms, their attention to detail in matching the stain color was amazing. The windows they replaced years ago are still high quality and add to the overall look and comfort of our home. We trust Chad’s to give us good advice and options within our budget. While they were not our lowest bid, we have no regrets because you truly get what you pay for. Any time we went with a lower bid and did not use Chad’s (our basement remodel, for example) we have had regrets and always compare everything to the high bar set by Chad’s.

We have collaborated with Chads Design Build on several renovation projects for more than a decade: porch improvement, new tandem garage, bathroom expansion/remodel, and most recently a full kitchen remodel.
We choose to partner with Chads because they work with us to meet our design needs, incorporate environmental options, complete high quality work, and manage their projects so they stay on time and on budget.
We appreciate that their employees are highly skilled and very communicative.
Also, many of their trades-people are long-term employees and we have developed relationships with them over time leading to more efficient and enjoyable projects.
We look forward to when we can work with them again.

This full ground-floor remodel was our third - and most wide-ranging - project with Chad's. The bigger the project, the more satisfied we have been with the Chad's design, decorate, and build team. Their communication, expertise, and attention to detail are all top tier. Pure joy working with them.

From the initial meeting, the project (kitchen remodel and adding full bath) went smoothly. I found the team to be very professional and the communication excellent. Their work and product was better than I had imagined, with the designer being very helpful with great ideas. Other members of the team- project manager, carpenters and all of the trades were efficient and friendly which made the process much less cumbersome and less stressful.

Everyone on the Chad's team is an amazing professional. They are all heavily invested in making sure you get the finished results you want of the highest quality. From start to finish, they entire team provided excellent guidance, communication and quality workmanship. Chad's Design Build worked on my whole house renovation and addition of a rental unit in my lower level. I will be returning to them for the renovation of my second floor in the future.

I used Chads for a screened porch project. Their team was wonderful to work with - friendly, accessible, and totally transparent about the process. I knew ahead of time how much my project would cost, and Chads even worked with me to manage costs by having me participate in my project! The end result was wonderful. Chad really listened to me and used his design expertise to make my dream come true. Both the design of my screened porch, and the building process, combined to create an end result that was well worth the cost. I will definitely use them again for any and all future projects.

We contracted with Chads Design Build to remodel our 1955 kitchen, which had never had any major updates. The team was solid, trustworthy and reliable. We knew all the bases were being covered as they updated electrical, windows, appliances and insulation. They even helped us relocate the heat vents to keep our feet warmer. The staff is friendly, the workmanship is excellent. We felt completely comfortable with them in our home, including the subcontractors they work with. The design staff was also patient when we changed our minds on design details.
Highly recommend, Chads will get the job done right.

This most recent project is the second at our home by Chad and the team, and the main reason for engaging them again is that I know I can depend on their high standards of professionalism and exceptional quality of work! This particular project involved the redesign and construction of a new garage door opening to accommodate a new, larger overhead door. The outcome was fantastic and I couldn't be happier. In addition, I greatly appreciate the follow-up after the project was completed; other businesses should take note about how important this action counts toward customer satisfaction.

My wife and I had Chad’s D/B renovate our sunroom. The quality and workmanship was excellent. the process was smooth, and everything went as planned and on schedule. We will definitely use Chad’s for future projects.

Had Chad’s Design add a door and small deck with stairs to my home so I could directly access the backyard. They were responsive, worked up a plan within my budget, and gave an accurate estimate of when they could begin. They were booking out a ways, but I knew that from the start. Everyone I worked with was very friendly.

I also had some water damage I wanted repaired. They found the source of the problem which was a poorly installed section of roof, got quotes, and coordinated with a roofing company to replace the roof and add insulation to the problem area well before winter set in.

Overall I was really pleased with the improved flow of my house and have a list of future improvements to plan as the energy assessment they provided offered several areas where the comfort of the house could be improved.
