This is the first Stein's store, and adjacent to it, are the Corporate Headquarters. With this in mind, I saw exceptional treatment and assistance from the Stein family during rough spots. Our tropicals came in, and it got cold. They were helping us get them inside. When it was a super hot day, they brought in a couple cases of bottled water for us.
All managerial staff acted much the same. They were watering plants when most needed, and stocking shelves during XMAS rush.
I worked with outdoor plants. In both group and individual tasks, I was always urged towards completion of task. Often walked with customers around the entire store, inside and out, getting solutions for their projects from our merchandise.
I did 110% and so did many others. It showed. We had many repeat customers and very few complaints.

Still a fair selection of plants considering the time of year. Most of the staff is knowledgeable. Thank God plants are the gift that keep giving (if properly cared for) because the prices are up.

Early year stop at the garden center. 4/24/19 just to see what they had. No annuals yet, but coming soon. Always a great selection. Plus looking for juniper bushes - were told they would be in next week. Going back then - see you there!

A great place for houseplants and unique decor! The steins in Wauwatosa is bigger and has more plants, but this one is still great! I also love the selection of bird seed and feeders :)

I was impressed by the quality of the plants. It's been a few years since I've lived on the South Side of Milwaukee, and the Steins North of here DO NOT have the same green, healthy plants this one does. These were actually alive and well!!! Well worth the $46.00 I spent today. I did not have to pick through all the flats to find some live ones!

GREAT LOCAL place to get supplies from which saves me time and money but what like Most is that I can see when my soils come in, how they're stored and the ability to purchase them Before they get damaged from sitting in the Hot Sun ALL day. When ordering from sites online u have No Idea how old stuff is or how it was kept and that alone could make your entire growing season a waste of time and money, not to mention make u Extremely Angry.

I've always shopped at Steins. But only two times a year. My wife and I purchase our flowers in the spring, and then when replacing or buying new Christmas decorations in the late Fall. We've never been disappointed. Try Steins, I'm sure you'll be back!

It was my first time their with my daughter i was like a kid in a candy store. The workers were so nice and knew the name of every plant and told me how to care for them, i was so amazed. I came buy 1 and spent 200 dollars lol but i enjoyed it so much.

As much as I love shopping at steins my experience was not a very good one during this trip. The person working at customer service was very busy and all by herself. I came in to purchase a patio set. She told me when she finally got to me that there were two sets in the store and would have someone bring one up. Then I was told that they couldn't find one in a box so I said I would take the display. We waited almost a half an hour before someone finally brought one up in a box which apparently they found.. then after I paid for it they asked someone to come and do a carry out. We had the truck pulled up in front of the doors like they asked and waited another five minutes and still no one was bringing the set that was sitting right in the front of the store out to the car. The young man who was asked to do the carryout was just standing there as he apparently needed help getting the set onto a dolly. What should have been an in-and-out trip lasted over 35 minutes. As I had asked friends who had a larger vehicle to help me pick up the set and get it home it was kind of embarrassing that they had to wait that long.

I was shopping for houseplants so I didn't venture to the outdoor selection, but I could see it was large nor did I look in the birds & pet area. The shop has lots of real or fake succulents & other varieties of typical houseplants. There was much decorative & gift items to look at too. Pleasant staff, clean & tidy & not too crowded during the early afternoon on a weekday. Masks required indoors during the COVID times & handicap parking available.

Kim at Customer Service is a delightful lady to deal with. Christie, (long, dark hair and glasses), is, as well. Been going here for 50 years, literally. They keep expanding their selection of plants and am very pleased with that. Also, I like their "Garden Club" rewards....it's nice to get $5.00 off purchase every time I go. Please let Kim know she is wonderful.

We bought a Christmas tree on January 2, 2019 from Steins Garden and Home Center. We put it up last week for the first time and have been enjoying it fully decorated with many cherished ornaments. This morning, the lights stopped working. We tried to troubleshoot the problem, but could not get them to work. We returned the tree, hoping for repair, replacement or full refund. We got NONE of those options. We were given an unwanted store credit for partial cost of the tree. How is this good customer service?

It saddens me to see how the quality, in the plants, shrubs, trees etc. Have gone downhill. And it's been really quick! 2 years ago the quantity and quality of their plants was alright. I would browse the Stein's ad, cut the one coupon out (always a REALLY good deal) & make my way there. I found & bought what I wanted, then bought even more. Not anymore. Very poor quality annuals, perennials & shrubs...with moss & mold on them. Next year I'll be going somewhere else.

This is a nice store for your yard and garden needs. I went to look at grills, and they have a good selection. I got some accessories and bought the grill elsewhere. Steins was $100.00 more for the same grill. My only complaint with the store is the prices are a little high. It is a very nice store!

Terrific service! We bought a couple large Dracenea that wouldn’t fit in the car, they were happy to hold them till the next day when I could stop by with my SUV

Went there with my mom today. It seemed like the manager was cleaning dirt with a blower, and I don’t know if he realized this, but he was blowing dirt into mine and my mothers eye.

Not to mention the prices are way overpriced.

    Will not be back.

The only thing pleasant about the place was that they gave me a box to carry the other plants that I got at Home Depot for half the price and twice the size.

I adore Stein’s. Plants, lawn & gardening supplies, home goods, patio furniture, grills, pet supplies – Stein’s has it all. It’s always good to support a Wisconsin company, too. There are plenty of convenient locations for Stein’s throughout the Milwaukee area, and with our recent move, this location is now the closest for us. Go early in the morning on the weekends to beat the crowd and be prepared to leave with a few more things than you planned, because you’ll probably find something cool that wasn’t on your list.

The customer service is always friendly, pleasant, and helpful. The prices are reasonable – when they have items on sale, the prices are better than most places. Sign up for a rewards card (free!) and accumulate points to earn rewards and receive emails to notify you of sales and weekly ads. Stein’s is our go-to place for our plant and garden needs!

I went there to purchase a birdbath, and found one on sale very nice quality.l also signed up for a discount card, and you have to make another purchase within the year to keep it valid. Large selection of gardening accessories.

As always, excellent selection of plants and other items. Today, my easy shopping experience abruptly ended because of one of the assistant managers, who gets easily upset and scolds customers seeking a return. She claimed that she handles a $100,000 dollar operation and put me to shame because I was returning a very inexpensive item. If this assistant manager cannot handle returns properly, berating customers simply seeking a refund, how, I wonder, can she possibly manage conflicts with colleagues, supervisors and people under her charge? The assistant manager needs an urgent retraining to fulfill her duties in a friendly way, even if she dislikes making returns and an individual customer is nothing compared to her $100,000 operation. Unfortunately, returns and refunds are part of her job, much as she dislikes them. She claimed that the store is understaffed. Possibly she was irritable for that reason. However, her dislike of this part of her job should not be the burden of customers who otherwise enjoy shopping at Stein's. In the 17 years I have been shopping in Stein's this is my first very unpleasant experience with any of their employees.

Love how they say your plant is covered if it doesn't come back next season, then ope how convenient to tell me oh not that brand the next season. I will not be giving them my money anymore.
