The majority of my plants are purchased here. If you're contemplating purchasing a plant, please consider that the root system may be very extensive. Washing the roots as you would your hair will give you a better indication of its needs.

Just purchased 5 beautiful mum plants from Stein Garden Center on 27th Street. The staff was very friendly, helpful and available to answer my questions. I definitely recommend this place!

I really like this store, but the greenhouse has a real nasty mealybug infestation rn. Also, homeless ppl pace in the parking lot waiting to harass you. Remember to carry.

Friendly and helpful staff. They always have a good selection. They also have very unique items that you wouldn't normally find other places. There is also a good amount of home decor. The plants and greenery are generally good here depending on right you are looking for.

Since I'm a Garden Club member, even though I didn't have my receipt I was able to make a return. Also, the credit stays on my Garden Club account so I don't need to bring the receipt back to use the credit. That's awesome!

The store is very well kept and the employees are nice, however they have no idea what they are doing....i asked if there were any Christmas cactus left and she walked down the row of plants and said they were all gone. I walked down by myself and found two hanging in the clearance area and another 3 in another clearance area. I don't think this employee knows anything about plants.

I really like Steins' plant selection and have purchased all of my house plants there (so far so good). That being said, I was very disappointed the last time I went there (and quite disgusted as well) because a section of their plants were infested with some sort of skinny little purple-ish worms and what looked like some sort of spider webbing on top of the soil. I went to purchase a plant but was so grossed out that I ended up leaving empty handed. I understand that is not always easy to spot everything of that nature, but I attemded about an hour before their closing time, which means they should have had ALL day to inspect their plants and see that a large section of them were infested.
