I recently purchased a new build with a “partially” framed out/finished basement, possessing the bare minimal of “plumbing”. There was MUCH to be done.

“Sampson”, promptly came out, listened, assessed and advised. He was equally prompt to provide a quote, respond to my many painful back/forth contacts in regards .. and in the end, fulfilled ALL required/needed to successfully complete this job within the time constraints discussed. This, done in the form of his AWESOME associates Austin and Jerry.

Austin & Jerry were a delite and, Masters of their Craft. Both, incredibly hard working, knowledgeable and all around great guys!

I couldn’t be happier with the end result…and would not hesitate in securing this “dynamic trio” once again to address any/all future plumbing needs.

We live off grid and needed a company to sell us a furnace and give us support while we did the install ourselves. Matsu Mechanical was super easy to work with and Dallas was very responsive to our needs. The furnace we ordered came in a reasonable time frame at a good price. They were amazing to work with and we would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a personal experience with quality service.

Danté has come to our home a couple of times and each time he has been wonderful to work with. The first time was for our garage heater, which we were prepared to replace. A thorough cleaning restored the heater's output and saved us a larger expense. The next was for a kitchen faucet replacement and again Danté saved the day! When wrapping up the job, he noticed a crack in the nut under our sink. I'd definitely would recommend Mat-Su Mechanical, especially if other technicians are as professional as Danté.

Dante and Kyle took excellent care of us even going the extra mile to get our heat and hot water up and running again. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. I am beyond grateful for their outside-the-box problem solving abilities and excellent customer service. They were even friendly with my dogs who enjoyed their scratches. I highly recommend this company. You won't get better service or people anywhere else. Thank you so much!

From the front office to the service call I had a great experience with Mat su mechanical. Dante serviced and walked me through my hot water and heating systems and took the time to explain the maintenance schedule and what to pay attention to. Dante was on time, came prepared with all the right items even though they can be hard to get and really went the extra mile. He also figured out how to reset the controller so the humidifier actually works. He's only been gone an hour and the house is more comfortable. Thank you Dante! I wanted to add that my mom had struggled to find a good contractor so big thanks to Mat Su who seems to spot issues and improve our relatively new system so it will be safe and long lasting. It is such a relief knowing this company has our back and is incredibly kind, respectful and responsive to individual customer needs. Thank you so much!

Had a boiler problem in Anchorage outside of Mat-Su territory. Kevin didn't care and jumped right in to help. Knew my boiler system and helped diagnose over the phone. Made a special trip to the shop to get the part I needed on Saturday. Would you them again if they serviced Anchorage.

Highly recommended! Answered our call on Friday night at 10:30pm and came out within a half hour (called 3 other companies with 24/7 service - 1 answered, but the service tech on call wasn't available the other two wanted to come out the next day or Mon). With heat out for hours on a cold night we were getting concerned, but Matsu Mechanical came through and were AMAZING.

Kristi is very knowledgeable, professional, and shared helpful info to troubleshoot even before coming out. Can't say enough good things. They'll have our business forever. Thanks again for great service! So glad you're in the Valley. 🤍

My old boiler needed to be replaced and after two terrible encounters with Knik Heating I was in need of a new company. I stumbled across Mat-Su Mechanical it was a game-changer. The technicians were not just professional but also incredibly friendly, making the installation a painless breeze. The work they did was outstanding and absolutely worth the investment. Their customer support was top-notch. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Dallas, who patiently explained plumbing intricacies for me to understand how it all worked. They also managed to redesign my hot water system for greater efficiency. I wholeheartedly recommend this company for their exceptional service and a team that genuinely cares about their customers.

I had an outstanding experience with Plumbing and Heating Doctors. They responded immediately when I needed help inspecting and clearing out our HVAC system. Their team was fast, efficient, and offered very reasonable pricing compared to other companies I reached out to.
A special shoutout to Richard, who was a true professional from start to finish—knowledgeable, courteous, and thorough in explaining everything he was doing. It's rare to find such dependable service these days, and I’ll definitely be using them again in the future. Highly recommend!

We needed work done and scheduled an appointment for 3 days out. Had to pay upfront for the first hour. I asked the woman on the phone if we get a refund if I cancel if I can find someone one sooner. She said yes. We found someone to come out sooner and called to cancel (2 hours from the inital bokking call). Only then were we notified of the 4% cancelation fee. I mentioned to her that this was not disclosed to me when I asked if my initial payment was refunded. All she said was "sorry". No offer to make things right. I would not
recommend this company. They can't be straight forward with you on the phone, what does that day about their business practices?

Dan is a true professional. I had a sewer smell and he found a open vent in the wall. I would highly recommend him to my friends!

I needed annual maintenance for my WM boiler and Navien on demand water heater. They installed the water heater for the previous owner of my house so I thought this would be a good way to check them out since I hadn't used PHD before.

A little background for context, I own other property in Anchorage and have worked with several other companies by which I'm comparing PHD. I'm also pretty hands on with my maintenance, but was not familiar with the on demand water heater maintenance tasks. I wanted to see the process.

I started with a phone call letting them know about my equipment and what I needed done. They gave me prices on the phone and provided a 15% discount for a mail promotion they were having. So bonus points to them for that.

Everyone I spoke with was polite and professional. That included the receptionist, the maintenance manager, and the service tech that came out to complete the work. I give them an A for customer service.

The service tech arrived on time and completed the work promptly and made an effort to minimize messes as much as possible. He also worked efficiently and quickly. This includes a follow up visit to replace a circulation pump in my water heater that was going bad. This was done under warranty which they contacted the company about and took care of as well. I give the service an A as well.

The only thing I was not happy with and the reason for my 3 star review vs. 5 is that the maintenance performed on my boiler was very minimal for the amount charged ($338). I mentioned that I'm hands on with my maintenance. For example, changing zone valves, replacing boiler pumps, replacing prv, pipe repair, etc. I did not have parts for flushing out the boiler and cleaning the heat exchanger, things like gaskets and such, so thought professional service would be an easier way to go.

In the end they tested zones by having me turn the thermostats up, and checked pressure relief and safely related items. Vacuumed out the fresh air intake and checked the electric igniter. All important items, but all things that I have already checked and or recently replaced myself. When I spoke to the service tech about the work involved, he explained that with my type of boiler, they don't brush or clean out the heat exchanger. It's a lot more involved and not necessary. In hind site is seems I should have had them outline the work to be done beforehand, but based on the price quoted, I made a wrong assumption that the work would be much more extensive. All of the boiler items took about 20-30 minutes to complete. This was definitely not worth the money spent to me.

The work needed and completed on the water heater was more extensive and took about an hour, maybe a little longer, because you have to wait for the descaler solution to flush through the system.

Not sure how to categorize this part of the review? The boiler charge for the work performed was a bit of a slap to the face but the charge for the on demand water heater seems reasonable. Depending on your equipment, the charges may be reasonable.

I would use PHD again. They did good work and showed up on time. They generally communicate well and even send text messages when the tech is on the way. My main recommendation is just to review what will actually be done before you schedule the work.

We had a emergency on Sunday. Our basement was flooded and they came right away. Our technician JD was amazing he knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it immediately. Definitely recommend this company. Thank you for your professionalism and quick response.

Needed a fair amount of work on a newly purchase 14 y.o home. JD came in, poked around, did some straight shooting about our needs and options, fixed what we asked at a reasonable price. Soooooooo pleased with the results. Thanks to the PHD team and JD!

I will say, I do feel I over paid for the installation of my tankless water heater. However, other than departing with more money than I would have liked, I feel like it was worth it. What I paid extra for in this transaction was a company I feel I can trust. While I was quoted less from other companies for the same installation, I am not sure it would have been done as well, nor with the same reassurance the Plumbing and Heating Doctor provides. Some of the interactions I had with the other companies made it feel as though they were not listening to my requests. Others did not take the time to ask questions. Some simply did not get back to me with estimates at all. Robbie, the gentleman who came to my house to set up an accurate estimate and go over all aspects of the installation, was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. The next day, literally, he and his team came over to install the unit, and I couldn't help but notice how Mason, was wiping down every bit of what they had installed to remove any gunk, oil, or residue left by the installation process. When they left, they unit was practically shimmering. They thoroughly explained every part of the system they installed, including standard maintenance it needs over time. They services all my questions and once again emphasized that they stand behind their products and services and that a 1 year warranty means everything is covered short of an act of God. And I believe them.

Sean did a great job. The appointment was easy to make, they were available promptly. Sean was on time, respectful of my property, and provided good advice for future maintenance and upgrades. This service was exactly what you want it to be. Fast, fair, friendly, and above all - done right!
