We moved to AZ from IL and had never had a pool. After contacting California Pools and Landscaping as first timers, we felt confident with contracting them to build our custom pool and backyard. David C helped with an awesome design. The process was extremely smooth and now we are enjoying our beautiful backyard with a fire pit, pool/spa. I wanted to give an extra special thank you to Stephen D and Jessica Z for all their assistance and help throughout the process. Both kept me informed and assured all would be fine throughout the whole process. Great communication and quality of workmanship.

Our experience with California Pools’ complete transformation of our backyard has been nothing short of spectacular. What began as a mundane yard featuring a fireplace has now been redesigned into a three-section tropical paradise featuring custom pool, elevated fire pit, and putting green, with beautiful plantings. As an out-of-state client, we especially valued their “one stop” management of our entire project: from Brian Egge’s exceptional design consultation, to Sara Dougan’s incomparable scheduling prowess, to Scott Ford’s demanding project supervision, and the many subcontractors who worked tirelessly and excellently to complete our project. This complex makeover was extremely well managed and their communication timely and complete. But, perhaps the best part of all is that they are simply delightful people to work with. California Pools deserves our highest praise and we couldn’t be more pleased with our new "playground in the back."

What a year it was! We chose CalPools & Landscaping for their complete package, right down to the guarantee, one of the best in the industry according to our research. We were further encouraged when told that all "outside" contractors must undergo a vetting process to be able to work under the Calpools banner. We worked quite closely with all involved and key moments and people def stick out. Our designer, Christian, was fun to work with as he listened to every idea and transformed the barren backyard into our hopeful oasis in the desert right before our eyes as the measurements took shape on the screen. Seeing our dream coming to life was a tear-filled moment for sure! We had eyes on the ground through the entire process and each person and team who arrived were engaging, addressing any questions or concerns we had. From Sean, who painted the lines, to Mr Smiles who delivered ton after ton of dirt; the diggers, shockcrete, plumbers, electricians, hardscape, landscape; there were so many amazing people! The longest team on the ground was our hardscape team under Edgar/Ashton.
Our design included all free-flow form; ie: lots of curves! Chava's team (Chava, Victor, Alan) were amazing! From first brick to last, every detail was considered carefully. Chava's critical eye helped to alleviate several hiccups in real time resulting in fluid perfection as travertine met pavers. When the transition from rear yard to front was waiting on HOA approval and the holidays, it was clearly understood that only Chava's team was requested to complete the full vision.
Josh's team (landscape) were quite conscientious of the very real fact that placement was crucial for our vision. He even took time to meet with us at the nursery so we could hand select our plants and trees. His team lead, a very kind soul, addressed every concern and placement. He even shared that he was chosen by Josh as he is known for his patience. And patience with a smile he brought willingly!

Our Forman, Stephen, was and is our first point of contact. He was always willing to address every aspect of each stage. Too many messages to count were always addressed; even after (or often before) operating hours. We consider him now a friend.

Our tech who gave us the orientation was very thorough, so much so I had to record him to remember it all.

All in all, as we navigate our new system and stare in awe at our beautiful Oasis in the Desert, we are so grateful to so many of the CalPool teams for helping our vision become our reality. We just can't say enough good things about California Pools. I know alot depends on the tradesmen being available, but our pool was excavated to swim-ready in just under 5 weeks! So impressive!! The workmanship of the trades was so good and the workers were so respectful. And the California Pools team... unbelievable - Ernie, our designer was wonderful, Steve, our superintendent was absolutely fantastic, and Ciarra, our construction coordinator just phenomenal!! We didn't go in to this blindly, we've done this before with a different company and swore we'd never do it again, but super hot Arizona summers changed our minds. And we're so glad we found California Pools - we highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend California Pools!!! Start to finish, just unbelievable!! We won't recommend anyone else!

This is the second pool project Mike Lillis has completed for us, and just like the first time, he and his team delivered an outstanding job. The entire build process was seamless and efficient thanks to the excellent staff. Ciarra was phenomenal at communication; she kept us thoroughly informed through every step of the construction and was always a pleasure to work with. Furthermore, Steve expertly managed the entire pool build from start to finish, consistently taking care of every small detail and ensuring a smooth completion. The overall experience was excellent, and we are confidently looking forward to working with them again on our new home build.

We started our process contacting 5-6 pool companies. Cal pools was the first company we contacted and our designer was Christopher Robinson. He had a design and prices within a couple hours. Contacted the other companies and no one even had a design within a week let alone prices for me. Chris was absolutely fantastic in every way possible. Any change we made he would have a new design and price almost immediately. There was a lack of communication in the middle of the build where we couldn’t get a hold of the construction manager or scheduler, I contacted Chris and he said that wasn’t right and he made sure someone reached out to me the very next day. They switched our schedule coordinator after that to a lady named Vina Ortega. Vina was a superstar for us. Her communication, knowledge, and all around customer service was top notch. Both Chris and Vina seemed genuinely happy for our family. I would highly recommend Cal pools. We are happy customers. Thank You!

We just completed a large landscape and pool project with Calpools. Our coordinator Michelle did a great job of keeping us informed and following up on issues. Our supervisor Steve also did a great job getting things scheduled, and really came through at the end of the project when we had a fairly big issue to resolve.
Our designer Matt was great to work with as well. In our initial meeting, he presented us with an initial design, which was very helpful getting the ball rolling. He provided a lot of technical expertise regarding pool equipment, and were very happy with the entire design process.
One small issue is that we did have some startup issues with the pool equipment. It took a few people to resolve the issues over about a 2 week period, but everything seems to be taken care of now.

California pools is wrapping up our project soon but I would like to shout out Jeremiah Price for staying on top of things during the construction process. Our project is anything but normal and at each obstacle he continues to find resolutions working side-by-side with us to make sure we end up with our dream backyard. Definitely recommend you ask for Jeremiah to be your Construction manager!

Absolutely perfect experience with California Pools. They completed our job in record time with the hole being dug 10/11/23 and the pool being filled in late January 24'. I think it would have been fasted but we actually held them up a bit.

Donnie was our project manager and was OUTSTANDING. He was at the job site daily and fixed things before I even noticed they needed fixing. Ashton handled our hardscapes and had the same "whatever it takes" attitude. Really impressed and highly recommend them.

I just completed our final walk through for our Ca. Pool and it is amazing. The entire team we worked with was simply the "BEST", our designer Brian Fox was involved in every aspect of getting our "Dream" pool built. No detail was to big or unreasonable for him. His own creative ideas were incorporated in our pool. Stephen Dreher, our onsite project manager was through, and explained every detail of what was next and what we could expect. His knowledge and expertise helped to make this project a smooth one for us. Our customer service rep. also our point of contact Ciarra Tapia was nothing short of amazing. She answered every questions we had, explained things thoroughly and was always there to help. The most helpful thing for us was that if she didn't immediately have the answer, she knew and who to go to for it.

Excellent design process. It was fun to collaborate on the backyard, pool, styles and materials, but still lean on my knowledgeable experts to make proposals and recommendations so it wasn’t an overwhelming process. The build went fast with great communication and no hiccups. I love the final result! Simple, modern, functional, and beautiful.

California Pool's was recommended to me by a neighbor. They made a pool happen for me in a very small backyard. Their communication with the app was great. They were fast, neat, clean and worked very hard. Completed fast in spite of the Arizona heat!! They took care of everything...

California Pools created our dream backyard oasis. We loved our designer Jacob. He was very knowledgeable and was able to sketch out all our ideal pool/ yard features. He really took the time to listen about what we wanted and put it all together. We have been in a new build with nothing but dirt in our backyard besides the clutter of kids toys and random tools for the last 5 years. We spoke with 4-5 pool companies about the project but California Pools shined through.

We went with California Pools because of the design, the value for what we were paying, warranties with the purchase and we loved the app they use to communicate with throughout the construction process. Jacob stayed with us the entire project helping with any plan adjustments or questions. We had some rocky issues at first with our project site manager Dillion’s communication but our scheduler Cierra really picked up the slack and got things all better. Cierra was amazing at keeping us sane through the construction process. It’s well known major construction on your home is stressful but I believe with her help it made it much better.

Dillon had left the company and we were assigned Stephan Dreher. He came and assessed our project as it was almost complete and picked up fine details and got us to the finish line. Stephen is awesome.

We are so happy and would recommend California Pools for a complete yard remodel. Our pool is beautiful, the yard looks amazing. High quality all around. Honorable mention to the finance team for helping us get connected with loan company.

A fantastic company to work with. The final product blew my mind with it’s artistic style and it’s beauty which is incredibly pleasing to the eyes. I love the color contrast from turf to stone to blue water. I was incredibly pleased at the attention to detail each person at Cal Pools performed in their role on my project: design, material, scheduling, construction, management, startup and overall communication. The team I worked with: Doug, Tim, Gabe, Marissa, Kathy, Alan, Allison, and Vianna were such a pleasure to work with. They each went above and beyond to make this whole process easier and give me comfort that they will be there when needed. It was painful to have my entire backyard be a construction zone for 2 months, but the Cal Pools team made it easier with great communication and scheduling. As with any big project there were some issues, but they were not surprises. They were communicated to me upfront and when they happened it was not too bad because it was expected. Overall, I give Cal Pool 5 stars.
