UPDATE: I finally received a call from the GM who was professional and worked with us to a fair resolution which we appreciated.

We bought a new unit in 2020. We've paid to have them inspect it each year hoping to catch early any issues. The last inspection was 3/31 and the tech said all was good other than a rattling loose screw. On May 9th, hours before a big party we were having at our house, our air is blowing warm. Hendels responded quickly, and the tech said we had a leaking Schrader valve and needed 6 lbs of Freon. $1400 later the party was saved. When I had a chance to go bk and look at all our inspections, I noticed that the pressure readings on our unit were always high 300s or 400+ on the high side. When he inspected it on 3/31, our high pressure was 296 which is very low for our unit. Had he done some further diagnosis and investigation, he should hv found the leaky valve then and we probably would have only needed 2 lbs of freon rather than 6. I have called twice since the event to get some answers from the service manager and get promised that someone will call me back, but nobody does. I used to recommend Hendels, but not any more.

Met a wonderful person who helped me. She knew I was a novice at repairing my a/c and gave me valuable information in installing a condenser fan. She was the daughter of the man who started this business 50 years ago. He started out by reading a book on air conditioners. The place has a bunch of cool collectables. Prices were about 30% of a service call. Easy fix...

Isidro from Hendel’s came by yesterday to fix our air conditioning, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. He was professional, knowledgeable. He quickly identified the issue and had everything running smoothly in no time. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and truly cares about doing a great job. Thank you, Isidro and Hendel’s for your excellent service — we really appreciate it!

I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding service I received from Hendel’s Air Conditioning. Isidro and Rich were absolutely wonderful—so kind, respectful, and hardworking. Despite the extreme heat, they showed up with a great attitude and worked tirelessly to get my AC running again. Their professionalism and dedication truly impressed me. I can’t thank them enough! I have nothing but positive things to say about both the technicians and the company.

TL;DR - Hendel's hooked my capacitor up wrong and fried my fan motor. I showed picture proof of how the first tech wired it up wrong. They claim that I messed w the wiring and hooked it up wrong myself after the first tech left (?!).

Edit based on response: That is false that it ran for 4 days. It started failing shortly after the first tech left. It got progressively worse over the next days until I tried a cap replacement. I have a 1 year old and made an attempt at 9pm to cool our house. I have pics showing your tech screwed up. You have nothing but fabricated hearsay. You know he screwed up, but hide behind the fact that you do not use pictures to back up any of your work. Real stand up.

On Aug 27, Hendel's came out to help clear my garage air handler pan so it didn't leak. I had no issues with the actual AC functionality in any way. The tech removed debris from the drain pan, and charged a level II cleaning service. Great.

The tech did look over my outside heat pump and tested my capacitor. I declined any work on it and he put the capacitor connectors back together. Shortly after he leaves I'm not getting cold air and I see the heat pump fan is off. Turning the AC off and on sometimes spins it up, but it usually doesn't run for more than an hour. It seems like a pretty insane coincidence that something would die immediately after the tech is messing with the units wiring. I take a picture of how the Hendel’s tech hooked the old dusty capacitor back up. Fan/brown, HERM/Yellow, Common/Blue.

After my AC had failed, I put another capacitor in and hook it up in the same way their tech had left it, using the pictures as reference. No change and the AC motor will still not stay on.

On Aug 31st, another Hendel's tech comes out to look at the unit as I was still without AC. He notes the fan motor is shorted. He looks at the schematics and notes that the HERM and Common lines on the capacitor are hooked up in REVERSE. The first tech that came out on August 27th hooked up the capacitor WRONG. This fried the motor and caused the unit to fail after he left.

If their techs took any picture of their work on the first visit, this would certainly show that it was hooked up in reverse. Hendel's has messages from me reporting the unit failing after their first tech worked on it, the pictures showing it hooked up incorrectly, AND their second tech seeing the capacitor hooked up incorrectly. I have requested any documentation or pictures Hendel’s has that back up their claim that the capacitor was hooked up correctly, but they do not take pictures of their work and refuse to provide me any reason for why the unit was left hooked up wrong on the first visit.

Again they didn’t take pictures of the unit after they hooked it up correctly on the 2nd visit, so I also attached one that I took of it done correctly. You can see that the Common and HERM connections are reversed from the way their first tech installed it. The correct way - Fan/brown, HERM/Blue, Common/Yellow.

I understand mistakes happen, and the 2nd tech to come out was stand up. The system is working great after proper wiring and a new $$$ fan motor. All they can do is a 15% discount on the $950 fan motor..tl That's a fan motor that should have never been needed. Hooking the capacitor up wrong gave the wrong voltage and phase shift to BOTH my fan motor and compressor. This mistake could have severely limited the life of my compressor also. They refuse to send me any documentation or pictures showing the first visit work was done correctly.

If you decide to take a risk with this company, TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PICS OF ANY WORK THEY DO FOR YOU! Can't believe they don't do this themselves. If my compressor dies in the near future, I'll know why.

I had a Hendel's technician come out to check our duct work on Thursday, July 3rd because one of our rooms wasn't getting any AC. He said he was a Lead Tech and was professional. He let us know that the box that connects all of the duct work wasn't installed correctly and he would want to fabricate a new one. I was disappointed to hear that because we bought our AC unit from Hendel's a few years ago and they installed and assisted with getting air to the rooms prior. He said we would get a quote on what work needed to be done the following Monday due to the holiday. Monday came and went. I figured they were busy and would get it to me Tuesday. Nothing. I called Wednesday to see what was going on and spoke with a customer service representative. He let me know that there were no notes on the techs inspection. He said the tech was at another appointment but would follow up with me that evening to provide information on what work needed to be completed. Nothing. I called Friday and spoke with someone who identified himself as the Customer Service Manager. He reached out to another manager who would contact me on Monday, July 14th regarding the situation and lack of communication and follow through. I never received a call today and am not impressed with the Hendel's team. For it to be over 10 days with no information or communication from leadership is ridiculous. I have been a loyal customer for a number of years and this is the worst service I've received.

We call Hendel’s in the morning and they sent Isidro out that very afternoon. He was pleasant and professional. He worked hard to find the problem and then gave me an estimate. He was careful with his ladder and even put a tarp down to protect my floors. A/C is working great! Highly recommend this AZ company.

I fully trust and will recommend Hendel's moving forward. I have used three other companies prior and Hendel's has been the most professional and reliable. They replaced my unit about a year and half ago and all my dealings with their techs and office have been great. Had a serious manufacturer failure of the new unit a month ago and Hendel's worked with myself and the manufacturer and was able to get the entire unit replaced at no cost to myself. I commend their professionalism to not just get things done asap, but stand behind their work and hold the manufacturers they work with accountable as well.

Had a great experience with Dan from Hendel's. He serviced my 20+ year-old York 3-ton R22 system, which wasn’t cooling like it used to. Dan confirmed it was still serviceable and didn’t push for a replacement. I really appreciate that Hendel's sent a technician, not a salesman, who was very professional and respectful.

They also called to reschedule my appointment, letting me know they had to prioritize customers with completely non-functioning systems. I understood and really respected that they’re looking out for people in urgent situations. That kind of transparency and customer prioritization goes a long way. Highly recommend!

Hendel's is the best . . . I highly recommend them. Been doing business with them for 40 years, they don't disappoint!! They do the job right, the first time, on time, they are honest and kind. Check 'em out.

Called to check and see if they might have a Honeywell damper actuator for one I have that failed. Who ever answered the phone was like “damper actuator? We only sell generic parts” So I was like ok how about a generic damper actuator? “Hold on” and pretty quick came back and said “No we don’t sell those”.

I somehow find it hard to believe a place that has been around since 1970 would not have a damper motor / actuator. Bummer because this would’ve been a real quick sale, but I will have to find another dealer that would likely understand what I need. I can’t be the only person in the east Valley that has it zoned system.

This is what I was looking for Hendels.

I had an issue with my condensation line and called Hendel’s around 3 PM. By 7 PM the same day, a technician was already at my home—no emergency fee, just great customer service. The tech had nothing but good things to say about the company and mentioned that his boss, Rob, was the best he’s ever worked for. I really appreciate a business that takes care of both its customers and its employees.

Spent 14k for two units from Hendels and had them come out every year to do the inspections. After a fee years my compressor on one of our condensors starting making a lot of noise. I was told that was normal and the women I spoke with even said hers does the same. If that were normal wouldn't it have done it from day one? They said the only fix was a new compressor but it's under warranty right? Technically yes but it still will cost $2200 to pay for freon!!! It doesn't need freon, they should be evac and recharging the freon.
For those that dont know AC systems are a closed system and should not need freon unless there is a leak. Mine does not have a leak. So essentially they want to charge me for my own freon. UNACCEPTABLE.

We also had a lot of problems during install with the the attic portion making noises in the house and they didn't believe us and although they eventually fixed it it wss unpleasant to say the least.

Judge a company of how they handle things when things go wrong not when everything goes right.

I want to give thanks to Hendel's Air-conditioning and service tech Rick. Although my needed service was a mistake on my part with a wiring issue when reconnecting my condenser fan after a good coil cleaning, Rick spotted my error immediately and had my air-conditioning working quickly. The service was professional, quick, and Rick was a pleasure to work with. I'll definitely recommend your services and be calling for any future repairs. Thank You

I've been a loyal customer of Hendel's for over 15 years. Over the years they've handled routine maintenance, repaired issues quickly when they came up, and replaced both of our air conditioning units with zero hassle. Their technicians are always knowledgeable, respectful of our home, show up on time, explain everything clearly, and stand behind their work.No high-pressure sales, just honest advice, fair pricing, and top-notch service every single time. I would definitely recommend Hendel's A/C

Hendel's Air Conditioning did an outstanding job. From the first phone call to completion, their team was professional, punctual, and extremely knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issue quickly, explained the repair clearly, and provided fair, transparent pricing with no surprises.

What really stood out was their attention to detail and the care they took to make sure everything was working perfectly before they left. It’s hard to find contractors who combine technical expertise with great customer service — Hendel's Air Conditioning does both.

I highly recommend them to anyone needing reliable and honest HVAC service. I will definitely be using them again in the future.
