Disappointed and Disrespected - Won't Use Again

I recently had a very disappointing experience with this company, which left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. A trusted friend recommended them, so despite having a usual HVAC technician I work with, I gave them a shot to address a potential issue with one of my AC units. Big mistake.

The technician came for a routine inspection and noted that the capacitor in one of our units was at a 7 out of 10, suggesting it might fail during Arizona’s brutal summer. When we asked for the total cost to replace it, he told us $349. Emphasis on total, as we specifically clarified this upfront.

Once the replacement was done (which took less than five minutes), the technician presented the bill, and to our shock, it was significantly higher. Turns out, the $349 did not include a service fee and other charges that were never disclosed prior to the work being done. We paid the bill but voiced our frustration at the lack of transparency.

Here’s where it gets worse: The technician called his boss or manager, Dustin W. , to explain the situation. To our disbelief, Dustin laughed—while on speakerphone. Even the technician seemed embarrassed and immediately took him off speaker. Dustin’s excuse? They assumed our friend (who referred us) would cover the service fee because he regularly works with them for rental properties. Absurd! How does that absolve them of their responsibility to inform us, the actual customers?

While they eventually refunded the service fee after we expressed our dissatisfaction, the damage was already done. Laughing at a customer’s valid concern shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect.

The only reason I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the refund, but overall, this company has lost my trust. I won’t be using their services again, and I hope my experience serves as a warning to others: Ask for a detailed breakdown of costs upfront and beware of unprofessional behavior.

I cannot say enough good things about Suttle Air. Their technician, Kyle, was absolutely fantastic. He arrived promptly, was incredibly professional, and quickly diagnosed the problem with our AC. His knowledge and expertise were evident as he efficiently got our system up and running in less than an hour. Kyle was a pleasure to deal with and made a stressful situation easy to handle. Suttle Air is lucky to have such a great employee!

I can honestly say that this was the worst experience I have ever had when it comes to A/C tech. He did come out on a Sunday which I will give him credit for. And that is where it stops. He comes into my home and takes pictures of my AC unit (which is a Mini-split) for warranty I had Home Serve (which I canceled today). He then went outside to look at my AC unit. He was out there for a whole 5 minutes. Then he comes back in and tells me that I need a new complete AC unit. That once I start to lose the Refrigerant that there is nothing he can do. And proceeds to say that my coil in my AC is also bad. He also said that he had his wife waiting in his truck (with the AC on) because he forgot that he had a family get together that he had to go to and he was already late. He was there for a total of 15 minutes. He didn't even look at my unit outside. If he had took the time to remove my front panel he would of seen instantly what was wrong. Instead this is what the tech said

"unit has a non repairable leak in coil : owner stated they saw refrigerant spraying out the side and heard noises
System Recommendations:
unit will need to be completely changed out with 2 new heads. "
I called out a second company myself because I wanted a second opinion and I am so glad I did. What the other company Goliat Air did was took the time and checked out my AC unit and what they found was, the top copper line going into my AC had came off the flange nut and since I lost the Refrigerant from the copper line They had to recharge my system. They repaired the copper line . They put the system into a vacuum and recharged. And there is nothing wrong with my coils. And most important thing is that I didn't need a whole new unit. Makes me wonder how many more people they have told that they needed a complete new system when they when they really didn't. My AC unit is working fantastic because of Goliat Air not Suttle Air. I really wonder about the competency of your tech or is he just a crook. And do you guys allow this kind of operation to happen or is this an acceptabe practice for your company.

I can't say enough good things about Suttle Air. My AC has been on the verge on going out for quote a while. It's the same unit that came with my house over 15 years ago, so it was coming as no surprise. Imagine my delight when Suttle Air came out and got it working with just a minor repair and some maintenance. Highly recommend these guys!!

Can't say enough good about James and SuttleAir! We had our system inspected by Suttleair and received great customer service. A few weeks later, our AC stopped working, I contacted James who tried to walk us through potential issues before responding early the next morning to inspect the system. The issues ended up not being related to the AC at all. James did everything he could and sacrificed his time to make sure we were taken care of. James and SuttleAir truly have a heart for service! The gentle cane looked at my ac and did nothing. He later submitted a report to our home insurance company reporting that there is nothing he could do. My children and I residing in Arizona are still struggling with the heat. This is sad.

I needed my dryer vent cleaned, so I reached out to Suttle Air on Thumbtack. They were very responsive and called me within a few minutes to explain the price and what the service included. On the day of my service, the tech showed up on time and quickly completed the job and showed me before and after videos and pictures. He even gave me a few tips for getting the best performance out of my dryer. I would definitely use this company again for any dryer vent or HVAC needs.
