Well, lesson learned with Howard Air! 7 year, formerly loyal customer. Thermostat failed to connect to new phone, but otherwise fine. Howard Air technician James decided - without any diagnostic tests - 'it's old, and should be replaced'. So sold my wife a $250 thermostat for the 'member rate' of $1,011. He was in our condo for less than 30 minutes. When I saw the bill, I called HA no less than 6x. Always Dusty will call you back. Then Dusty needed to talk to James, but never called back.

They call this 'fixed price' services. They take advantage of the lack of knowledge of real costs. A real family owned contractor quoted $400, installed. Identical product $249 on Amazon. Just because we live in Scottsdale doesn't give them a license to steal.

Yet another private-equity owned ripoff outfit. Watch your wallet, many of your previously family owned local companies have sold out to the NYC money sharks.

Stick with actual family owned companies, get a quote in advance, and check prices. I don't expect them to work for nothing, but is an HVAC tech worth more than my cardiologist?? Sheesh!

Howard Air does a thorough inspection of your AC unit. Once they’re finished they provide photos of your AC unit (as mine is on the roof) to validate the unit is in good working condition. I also appreciate their wearing shoe covers when they enter my condo. Thanks to Isaac and Andrew for your assistance.

Howard Air has consistently provided excellent service for our HVAC needs over 15 years. We’ve had them install two Trane heat pumps. Both times they did a great job. The few times we’ve had issues they’ve been here promptly to fix them. We also use them for a biannual maintenance on the Trane heatpump.
Jovanny was the tech who did our last maintenance. He arrived promptly, was very professional, and easy to work with.
I can definitely recommend Howard here for HVAC.

Purchased heat pump from this place 2 years ago. Not knowing a/c, I relied upon their staff. Sales was disappointing as qualifications for energy rebates never discussed. The unit sold was just under the rating. Of course they did the full court press to buy their annual service plan, but couldn't afford to toss more money into the wind. I called them to schedule cleaning. The price quoted was just to have them stop. Existing customer - bend over anyway. Now I'm being told it needs another $400 worth of cleaning. There's a lot of dirt on the coils. They installed the unit & supplied filters of the lowest grade possible. To me it appears they didn't seal the instalation up properly to see that much dirt gathered compared to the dirt trapped in the budget filters they supplied. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Valley is big enough they can afford to screw over clients as repeat business isn't a core value in this organization.

I needed some maintenance done on my HVAC. I chose Howard Air because I've heard good things about the company. I wasn't disappointed as their technician, Eric Ruiz, arrived on time, was very informative, and did a great job. I will definitely stay with Howard Air and highly recommend them.

Kenny was wonderful! Kept me posted about his arrival time, professional in his behavior and appearance, thoroughly explained everything he was doing and totally spelled out what needed to be replaced on my nearly 10 year old units, maintained a steady pace servicing all three units, he is conscientious and has a good sense of humor. Very pleased with everything.

Gabriel is a great technician, very polite and knowledgeable. I’ve used Howard Air since the early 2000’s, I have them out 2X a year for the annual maintenance on A/C & Heater. Always a pleasure, I would highly recommend them!! Great interactions with everyone that you’ll speak with, from the office to the techs.

Kenny Williams was Top Notch. Prompt to the minute. Clean, courteous, polite. He came in and sat down with me and let me outline my situation. He then assessed the equipment and kept me very informed of what he would be doing. His technical skills and explanation of things were clear, and professionally presented. After completed his work he sat with me again and explained all assessed matters and gave will received recommendations and estimates. Every experience I have with Howard Air continues to impress. I am blown away by there knowledge, customer service and professionalism. Every technician and supervisor has been thoroughly impressive. I have to give Ariel and Junior (Supervisor) kudos. They went above and beyond. I'm beginning to suspect all Howard Air employees do this. They back up all there findings with physical evidence. While they were here. I was sent 19 pics including videos of what they found. They were quick and efficient maximizing time but not sacrificing quality. I have found this level of workmanship is rare in this day and age. It is a breath of fresh air. They appear to love what they do and geek out at the science behind it. I love it! Thank you Howard Air! Please keep on hiring, training and providing this level of service!

Kenny was very kind and professional. He let me know when he was on the way and took extra care of our home while he was inside. Kenny let me know about the condition of the HVAC system (which was tip top shape) and thanked me for allowing Howard Air to service my system. Highly recommend.

Jovanny called in advance to confirm his arrival and arrived as scheduled. He was courteous and pet-friendly, taking a moment to greet my dog, Moose. He promptly began the service and, upon completion, provided a comprehensive overview of my entire air-conditioning system, including components that may require future attention. Have always liked Howard Air, they've been very good to me. Tech Jovanny Reyes serviced my a/c's today and was very pleasant, respectful, personable, and above all was not pushy at selling me something I dont need. That in itself is very important to me. I have a maintenance contract with them and they are always good at calling when maintenance is due. They are honest and forthcoming with any costs.

Howard Air (and plumbing) employee, Isaac Sackett & trainee, Chris, were pleasant & efficient in performing semi-annual maintenance on home’s dual systems. They summarized their approach & kept me updated on their progress. Completed their task and then took a few minutes to tell me that the units are working as designed. Appreciate their attention to detail & timely completion.

Outstanding service today from Howard Air and very friendly and knowledgeable service from Melvin Brim. Have enjoyed excellent service from Howard for the 13 years I have owned a home in Scottsdale and have been impressed with all of the technicians sent to service my units. I recently had a plumbing issue and tried Howard’s new plumbing team and had fantastic service as well.

When our HVAC system didn’t switch over to heat Fernando Islas from Howard Air was able to come within 24 hours of my call. He called to let me know he could arrive early (yes!), was friendly and super respectful of our property. He quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem, checked the thermostat and phone interface to make sure everything was back in working order, and was finished within an hour. We have worked with Howard Air for over 25 years. Their prices are competitive, response time has always been excellent and their service technicians have always been knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Thank you Fernando!

Excellent service by Howard Air technician Kenny. He performed thorough preventative checks of my HVAC systems and showed me photos and provided explanations of all the checks he performed. Also made recommendations of optional service to consider with photos to show where improvements could be made. He also replaced my old defective thermostats and after installing the new ones, took the time to properly set them up and program their settings. Provided friendly and professional service. I highly recommend!

I have had several problems with my HVAC unit and these guys, I believe, have always been honest with me about the repairs needed. Hayden came out to do the biannual service check and discovered my heat was not working and explained what parts needed to be repaired along with pictures and an estimate of the repairs needed. He was very professional and has great customer service skills for such a young man! I have been skeptical of this industry for taking advantage but I don’t believe this company is on the list of questionable service providers and those that do bill padding….after all, my church referred me to them so I trusted them. Fernando had been out to service my AC went it went out last summer and was exceptional with his customer service skills and honesty and transparency. It was nice to have him back to do the repairs. He fixed what needed to be fixed…. We thought…. Only to discover that my thermostat had been “ blown out” because it did not have a surge protector in it. After the repairs, this was sad to discover but the other rep that came out, Scott, to do an insulation inspection and quote explained that electrical companies have been playing with the voltages during the day and when the power surged, it knocked out my thermostat so the heating part would not signal to the unit. I don’t know if the initial problem identified was really the thermostat problem or not because I am not knowledgeable about this industry but regardless, they told me I needed a new thermostat and recommended I go purchase one. Well, I don’t have the time nor the knowledge to pick out the correct thermostat and so I asked them if they could just fix it today because Az has had a cold front move through and the house was freezing at night. They agreed and when I asked how much is was going to be, both Scott and Fernando said they were going to see what kind of discount I could get since I already paid them $1200 and signed up for insulation to be bring the house up to code. This is an older home built in the 70’s so it’s in need of several updates. To my surprise and elation, they said the thermostat would be free of charge! I was very happy to hear that! Scott did a great job of explaining what the house needed to help my HVAC unit last a bit longer and so I appreciated his customer service skills and knowledge as well. I trust these guys and would and will recommend them to my friends and family. I really don’t know if their prices are comparable or not but the fact that they provided great customer service helped me believe I made the right decision to use them. Thank you all for your great service, punctuality and great customer service skills! I believe you guys are knowledgeable and honest and that means a lot these days where profit is usually pushed over customer satisfaction. Howard Air and plumbing is a wonderful service company in the greater Metro Phoenix area. They have courteous and responsible staff from the person who answered the phone to the technician who arrives on time. I really appreciate the advanced notice and communication on the day of service.

Howard Air reminded me I needed to do my tune up. They booked my appointment, sent me reminders and let me know when my tech was on his way. Hayden listened to my concerns, dis the tune up and provided sound advice. He even coordinated getting an appointment set up to have the attic insulation reviewed. Highly recommend using Howard Air!
