Both Chris and Diego were respectful, knowledgeable and helpful. They went above and beyond any expectations I had of customer service and knowledge of their profession. In a five star rating system they both would get a ten. I will recommend them to anyone who needs work on their AC problems, little or big. Knowing they can handle any problem. I am very thankful I got to meet both.

Before 08/05/2024, I never met Chris, but based on my first time and only time interaction with him, he knows what he is doing and you can trust him, and price is reasonable, he fixed my AC issue with a reasonable price on a Saturday late afternoon in July (super hot in Phoenix, AZ) whereas another AC tech from another company told me to replace the whole AC unit, which might cost me over 10K easily. If you call Chris, the owner, you are in good shape!

However, Chris's tech Thomas needs some improvement: 1. he had to go back to my rental house for more work, yet, after his arrival, then he never called me to give me any update, I had to call him to ask for status 4 hours later, it turned out that he needed to go back one more time because he grabbed the wrong capacitor. 2. he forgot to take some pictures for the AC unit in the attic as he had promised.

Both of the owner and Thomas did apologize to me.

If this review is for the owner Chris, I think it is worth a 5 star, but since this review is for 'Total Heating & Cooling Mechanical LLC', I think a 3 or a 4 is more accurate, I still highly recommend this company to any one because I know Chris will take care of your issue.

Guess what? Today is 08/05/2024, my own house got AC issue over last weekend, Air was not cool in second floor even though fan is still running, because I still got cool air in the first floor, so I was not in a hurry to get help from Chris, just to save myself a bit $, because Chris's rate is double during the weekend. Yet Chris still spent lots of time with me on phone trying to troubleshoot the issue with me, and that is one thing I really like Chris about, he is willing to talk to customers even though it is at night, or during the weekend, and teaches you all sort of stuff, and being so honest about his rate, and guides you what to do next; so today I finally met him, it took him about less 20 minutes to figure out what the issue was, I was so worried that I needed to install a brand new AC unit because the broken one is about 20 year old, however, it ended up with just the voltage wire to compressor on capacitor melted and disconnected, he replaced the crimp fitting and reconnected to the capacitor, he even gave me a new capacitor for free, and tested everything and it worked, so this whole thing took him less than 1 hour, and answered all my questions, and he only charged me $190 whereas other AC Tech or companies could easily charge you $250 to $600, or even asked you to replace the whole compressor (which costs about $5000) or just go ahead to replace the whole AC unit. At last, one thing that Chris really impressed me is his personality, he really put customer satisfaction as the #1 priority, and he is willing to help people out and just charge with a fair fee, in other words, for his skill level, he could have charge others more, but he chose not to, which really makes him stand out! I am so appreciated to get to know Chris, and trust me, when you need help with AC issue, don't hesitate to call him! He will be your hero!

Reliable, honest and clean work. Last year he replace the heater and installed a new AC in my daughter’s house in Flagstaff, even though there were some unknown issues he took care of it and stayed true to his bid price. The install was clean and nice and tight to the walls. Last week he did the annual maintenance on my 3 homes and my business. He will be my THC guy for life. Thank you Chris!

Total Heat & Cooling performs all my commercial HVAC Maintenance/Repair, plus any new install work. My facility is HVAC intensive with over 1000 tons of cooling across 70-odd units. We have split units, package units, mini-splits, and a DOAS.

Chris and his team are punctual, courteous, efficient, and extremely good at what they do. Absolutely professional in every way. Communication is great; billing is punctual and accurate every time.

Best AC company I have ever used and highly recommend them for your AC needs. My AC was making this loud obnoxious noise and Bob came out to our house within 2 hours of the initial phone. Bob took apart our AC and pulled out some part and said he’ll be back tomorrow to fix it. Bob came back that next day at 10 am and put it all back together and now it works better than it did before. Bob was super professional and friendly. I will always use this company for any further AC needs. Outstanding job. Very quick to get the job done. I appreciate the honesty from this company. I called Total Heating and Cooling for a routine tune-up on my five-year-old system, but they quickly discovered major installation mistakes from the original installers (large popular AC company in phx)—they installed an incorrect evaporator coil and drain pan. To protect my warranty, Bob provided photos and guidance to address the issue with the original installers, who thankfully agreed to fix it. Without Total heating and cooling expertise, I could have faced serious ceiling damage from an incorrect drain pan. Huge thanks to Bob & Chris for their honesty and professionalism!

Our AC was installed in 2020 by another company. About 6 months ago that same company came back to repair a part and had to evaporate the refrigerant during the repair and added it back to change the part. Ever since, my wife kept saying something was wrong because the house would climb 2 degrees whenever she cooked or when it hit 100° outside. I honestly was thinking we needed new insulation.
We finally called this company on a referral from my wifes friend, and the technician Bob came out within 2 hours. He quickly identified an issue with the refrigerant and fixed that (which he suspects wasn’t added back correctly) and replaced our capacitor. Right now, as my wife is cooking, the house is finally holding the set temperature—for once! After 5 days of 100°+ heat, our AC is working perfectly. My wife was right (for once!) Lol - Thanks Bob

My Honeywell smart thermostat that was 10 years old ended up frying itself, so I just wanted a basic replacement. I called Total Heating and Cooling, and they sent out a tech named Diego. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and quickly replaced it with a simple digital thermostat—exactly what I asked for. No pressure to upgrade to another fancy smart model.
Their pricing was fair and in line with market rates, with no high-pressure sales tactics. The air is working again, thank goodness! I’ll definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

They are flat out terrible. Choice warranty uses them. And if you’re having problems with choice warranty contact Attorney General for Arizona. They tell you one thing to your face and then tell the warranty company something else that’s not true.

Haven’t had AC in my house for nearly two months and they don’t show up to appointments. This company tried to charge me for a service they were not providing to boost the bill. Had to speak with a technician to find out that what the were billing for was not necessary. Absolutely terrible company.
