Hal has been taking care of my pool for several years. He is honest and doesn't try and charge you for all sorts of extras. He comes on time and is always very pleasant. I would highly recommend Hal, but if he gets too busy please know that I am changing his company's rating to 2 stars. Hah!

After seeing the new LED pool lights, I was amazed at the brightness and energy savings that switching could afford me over my existing one. So I contacted Aqua Blue to ask them to replace the light and to provide me a quote for replacing sand in my pool filter. I made an appointment for May 6th. That day came and went, with me calling at 5pm and leaving a message inquiring as to why nobody showed up (yes, I had left work early to wait). No call back. On Monday, May 9th, a pool tech showed up to tell me that 1) our pool light was working fine and 2) that Aqua Blue does not service sand filters.
Later that evening, I received a quote for replacing the sand in my filter (I was confused too) AND a bill for $89 for the tech to tell me that my current liked worked (which I was well aware of?!) This was absolutely infuriating, as I had asked to have my light REPLACED with an LED one -not told the current bulb worked just fine. I even called to complain. Nothing. Not even an offer to apply the $89 as a credit toward their already overpriced fees for installing a new light.
The next day, I called Acrobat Pool Tech, who immediately sent a tech FOR FREE to verify my light. He literally dove into my pool to unscrew the existing light and pull it out to verify size etc. Again NO scammy trip charge, and he was extremely knowledgeable. His prices are much lower as well.
Needless to say, I’m very unimpressed with Aqua Blue. Terrible service. No show on the day of schedule, $89 for worthless 'advice’, and their quoted fees are ridiculous. -
Aqua Blue installed new pool pump for me. Nick installed an Intelliflo, top of the line pool pump, for a great price compared to their competitors. My pool equipment is extremely old and Nick made sure everything was working correctly and explained how to use the new pump. He replaced quite a few things that needed to replaced that I was unaware of because my current pool maintenance company never brought to my attention. Very professional from the very beginning. Tara in the office emailed me a quote in a timely fashion and Nick was out two days later. Invoicing is easy. I highly recommend Aqua Blue Pools.

Aqua Blue has been performing service on our pool for almost a year and we've had nothing but a positive experience! They were excellent to work with to get the weekly service setup and the pool is well cared for. I recommend them!

Rick was right on top of the job! He explained everything about the new filtration system. His workmanship was superb! The day of install the pool water was green, the next day it was crystal blue. My pool hasn’t looked this wonderful for a few years. I also recommend their weekly service. I definitely would use aqua blue pools and spa again, and would recommend them to everybody!

Unprofessional, disorganized, incompetent, and negligent are words that come to mind. We hired Aqua Blue back in September because they had better rates than some of the other competitors we got quotes from, and as it turns out, you get what you pay for, and in some cases, like ours, you don't even get that.
We hired them for weekly cleanings, and at their initial visit they identified a part that needed to be replaced. They began coming weekly to clean the pool, and we started having issues right away. They would leave our gate unlocked, leave the hose running (our water bill nearly doubled after they started cleaning the pool), they would leave valves open, pumps running, a broken float, consistently not properly doing the job they were hired to do.
Our expensive pool vacuum disappeared after several weeks of them leaving the gate unlocked, and they claimed their tech did not take it, and must have been stolen, but they switched us to a different tech afterwards.
We spoke with the service manager multiple times regarding the issues, and he continually assured us they would be taken care of, but never were.
We received backdated bills requesting "prompt payment" for all of the September-December cleanings all at the same time in December without any explanation or apology for the lack of timeliness in billing (huge yikes!). I figured when we hadn't been getting billed, they had decided to discount our billing to make up for the theft of the vacuum, the increased water bill from their negligence with the hoses, and all the issues with the tech messing up our equipment, but apparently it was just that no one knows what's going on in their accounting department. I requested to receive bills on time in the future (surprising customers with hundreds of dollars of old bills right before Christmas is never going to be an acceptable business practice) and I never received a response.
In January, I received a bill for a $35 repair dated December 30th, but no one had contacted us to discuss a repair being made on the day (and unbeknownst to them, we were at the property that day, and watched the tech arrive, sneak through the gate he left unlocked AGAIN, "clean the pool", and leave exactly 6 minutes later).
I contacted the company to question the bill (I had to send 3 separate emails before finally getting a response), and the office manager told me a part had been replaced on December 30th, and I repeated that we had authorized no charges for repairs that day. Another employee replied saying it was actually from a repair completed in September that they had just never sent to us, but had "found" while sorting through old documents. So this was yet ANOTHER charge being assessed months after the fact, and the lack of agreement between the two employees leads me to wonder if the repair was ever truly made.
Ultimately, we decided to cancel the service entirely, and the owner waived the $35 charge as a courtesy to us, but it doesn't make up for all of these issues in any real way. There are plenty of fish in the pool cleaning sea, and I'd much rather go find one of them than have to continue dealing with this much trouble over a simple pool cleaning. -
Update: After posting this review Hal was quick to reach out to me and work on resolving some of the issues we have had. Was really appreciated and admin issues aside for the service side of things has always been good.
Had Aqua Blue for years and they were great when Hal was more involved. Sadly the girl that runs the office is rude and not to be to harsh but she is useless. Bills have been messed up and they have charged late fees when the fault was there’s. Services not completed (pool drain).
When asked for a quote she did not realize we had been existing customers. In general experience has gone down hill and we will be looking at moving forward with a new pool company.
Hopefully they get new admin staff or they may see others rethink using them. -
Have used Aqua Blue Pools and Spas for about 2 years. A great company. Very honest and knowledgeable about servicing your pool, they’ll answer any questions or concerns, and have a good system of communication (check in/out, service chargers, etc.). Considerate and friendly with your pets! They go above and beyond, you can trust them with your pool!

I have used Aqua Blue for about 5 months and have been very happy with them. They are prompt and my pool looks great. When I first set up service, Hal answered all my questions for me and I didn't feel rushed talking to him. When I have had to contact him, he responded in a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend this company.

We have been using Aqua Blue for 4 months now and I have to say.. best decision we ever made! Tara is always so on top of everything and she is really always willing to help. Nick is the manager and he has been so awesome.. always able and willing to answer our questions and help us figure out issues with our pool and spa. Mickey was our weekly cleaning guy and he was truly the best! He is so friendly and never minds that I ask him questions. He takes time to show me what to do and I really adore him. We have a new person now that starts today because Mickey was promoted and I know based on the care this company offers their clients this person will be just as good. Great experience with this company and I highly recommend!

Bruce is so helpful and patient with my many questions about our pool and spa. He always treats me like I’m NOT a bother when I know sometimes I am. They are quick to answer the phone or get back to you if you leave voicemail. I would recommend them.

My pool is sparkling more now, than it has in over 5 months, thanks to Aqua Blue! So happy to have Hal and his crew taking care of things.
They actually do what they say they will do. And the technicians spend the time needed to make sure everything is done. I’m a happy new customer! Very fair price, and they’re very responsive. -
Some good and some bad.
When we had issues with pool equipment, the company was generally willing to help in a timely manner, which was nice since we are out of state and use the property as a rental.
But the weekly service was underwhelming.
The technician would usually spend 3-4 minutes on property each week.
The brushing of the pool would be so minimal it was almost laughable.
Technicians should spend at least 10-15 minutes checking chemicals, brushing, etc. -
We went with a different organization because we felt that Aqua Blue's pricing for what was being done AND NOT BEING DONE was not in sync with our view of what was required. Pricing in general for the spa/water feature services are high in the area, but shouldn't be for the minimal maintenance we require. We found a significantly better priced service that is reasonable. The savings we are realizing will pay for added investment of our systems.

Aqua Blue Pools and Spas are very knowledgeable about pool equipment and issues. The tech was very Professional, and provided great service.
My pool issue and why you should call Aqua Blue first:
My pump breaker would trip after a rain and I could never figure out what the problem was. For 3 years this would happen. The first service that came out changed out the pump ($1100) second service came out and changed out the rotor wheels.Third couldn’t figure it out but charged the $200 service fee. Aqua fixed the problem which was a rusted wire from the heater. Just $200 to fix and done in an hour. -
My previous pool maintenance company was bought out by a larger company this year and the service quality dropped considerably. After a couple weeks of having a green pool, I hired Aqua Blue Pools based on their great reviews. Within a week my pool was vacuumed and the water is clearer than it has ever been. You will be very happy with their service!

They were professional and pleasant to deal with. Fair price and did a great job on my complex equipment renovation.

The two stars given are based on the good repair work and the strength of the technicians, but as the management seems to think of customers as golden geese to be squeezed or sheep to be fleeced rather than meaningful partners in a business relationship, I couldn’t award more in good conscience. After spending a good deal on various jobs, I decided to try the weekly service after taking care of pool maintenance for years by myself. The price quoted turned out to be less than what I was actually charged, but I continued through a sense of loyalty/gratitude for the budding business relationship. The shattering of this came when I forgot to open the gate earlier in the day, and rather than knocking on the door, calling, or giving a shout as we were obviously home, the employee left, and I was told by the management (this was the first time and only a month into the service) that I would be charged for these services not rendered, and that there is no “makeup” or credit. In any case, I decided to cancel the weekly service as it is indeed something that I can take care of myself, but I still intended to use them going forward as well as for the revamping of my system (a new filter system instead of my current sand-based filtering system) as well as recommend them when asked. But after I received my final bill for the weekly service reflecting their insistence that I still pay for services not rendered, I will no longer be using them for work going forward, nor recommending them to neighbors/friends. The moral of the story? Businesses stand to lose substantially more in the long run by valuing the quick buck over the customer relationship.
