I recently had the pleasure of working with California Pool & Landscape to transform my backyard into a beautiful oasis, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs.

I want to give a special thank you to my salesperson, Brian McGrath, who worked closely with me to design the perfect pool for my space. He took the time to understand my vision and offered detailed considerations that I hadn't even thought of. I appreciated his expertise and commitment to making sure my project was a success.

Once construction began, Jordan Thrasher, my construction manager, was fantastic. He oversaw the entire process and made sure everything was executed to perfection. I was impressed with the attention to detail and quality of the build. Jordan was also very communicative and kept me informed throughout the entire process.

Finally, I want to thank Gabe Wentzel, who did an excellent job explaining how the pool equipment works and the importance of maintaining proper pool chemistry. He was patient, thorough, and took the time to ensure I understood everything I needed to know to properly care for my new pool.

Overall, I can't recommend California Pool & Landscape enough. Their team went above and beyond to ensure my project was a success. If you're looking to build your dream pool, look no further than California Pool & Landscape. They have my highest recommendation!

First I want to say thanks to the Cal Pool team that was able to make our dream back yard a reality. Jacob, your design expertise made all of our needs and wants come together perfectly. Stephen, you oversaw this whole project and overcame all hurdles thrown at us. Communication was no issue with us, and the portal app made a big difference.

We knew that this project was going to take a while, as many variables were going pull or push out dates. Even though some trades had some work not up-to-par, Stephen ensured it got corrected and fixed in a timely manner. Shout-out to Adam for ensuring our soft scape was installed right, and what a difference a few lights makes.

Yes, Pool shopping and quoting can be very exhausting. There was something with Cal Pool that made everything more comfortable and enjoyable “Thanks Jacob”. And those Ledge Loungers look great.

We had Cal Pools & Landscape help with a major re-fresh of our backyard including an all new irrigation system, a new built-in barbecue with a work area and storage draws, new lighting, new plants and artificial turf. The company kept us updated throughout the project from the initial design to the final walk through. Once completed a member of their staff spent an hour with us to show us how to operate all of the controls for the lighting, irrigation system and the bbq. And all of the work comes with an iron clad warranty. We could not be happier! I fully recommend Cal Pools and all of their employees for their honesty, transparency and consistent communication during every step of this project. Kudos to all!

Our experience with California Pools has been excellent. Now that our pool has been in service for over a year, we especially appreciate the prompt and professional response to our follow-up service requests. Kathy and Alan have been great to work with. California Pools is very fortunate to have them as part of their team.

Can not recommend California Pools enough! My husband and I built our pool with California Pools and it was the best decision. Cody was extremely helpful during the design process. With being new to Arizona and our first pool, he helped us so much to understand the pros and cons of different ideas and went through many rounds of designs to make sure it was perfect. His expertise was very much appreciated. It truly felt like he cared more about me and my husband as people rather than just another business transaction. He truly went above and beyond!

The build process could not have gone better! Dylan was on top of things, very communicative, and stayed ahead of schedule. He made sure we knew what was coming next and always took time to answer questions and help.

Every person we worked with was very kind and helpful. The app made the process fun & easy to be able to see what next steps were coming.

Our pool was completed by California Pools in May of this year, and we absolutely love it. After completion, we had a couple of minor maintenance items, and their team took the lead in getting everything handled quickly and professionally.

What truly impressed us was the follow-up. Our project manager, Stephen Dreher, reached out five months after installation just to make sure everything was going well. That level of care and customer service is rare and very much appreciated.

Cody Risdon was a pleasure to work with. His calm, low-key approach made the design process enjoyable and stress-free. He truly listened to our ideas and used his expertise to create a design we absolutely love. It was the perfect blend of our “wish list” and his knowledge that brought it all together.

Stephen Dreher, our Project Manager, guided us through the construction process with clarity and care. He explained everything along the way and answered our many questions with the patience of a saint. His support gave us confidence every step of the way.

Very happy with my experience building a pool with California pools. Ernie was able to provide a design that worked for our backyard and met what we envisioned. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the design before construction started. Our super Stephen was quick to fix anything we pointed out and moved the project along as quick as possible. I would highly recommend getting Ernie to come out to give you a quote and show you all of the great things California pools can do.

California Pools and Landscape recently completed a remodel of my pool and spa. The processes and communications from the minute I first walked into the Surprise location to the work completion and turnover to the warranty department were all handled with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Kudos to the CPL team, especially Christian Pierre, Stephen Dreher, Leann Madar, Nehemias, and Alan Vasquez. Each one of them made my wife and me feel like VIP's with every interaction. Their attention to detail and quality workmanship exceeded our expectation. We are very pleased with our decision to use CPL for our pool remodel and would recommend them to anyone considering building a new pool/spa or remodel. Than you CPL!

I wanted to be able to give a good review. We started with our designer in Jan 2025 from Ohio. We were building a house in AZ and knew we needed both our front yard and backyard landscaping done and we wanted a pool and spa. Our designer was phenominal and I would give him 5 stars all day long!!
I had contacted several pool builders and ultimately went with California because of our designer and how much he listened to what we wanted and had great recommendations since we were not as familiar with the climate and differences between the midwest and southwest living!
We moved in the beginning of May. The day came to meet our project manager, Dylan. He was extremely unprofessional, unqualified for the job and a poor communicator. He asked what will it take to get 5 stars at the end, my only comment to him was I expected communication and for the project to stay on schedule. Well, neither of those things happened. What he said would be a 12 week job took 20 weeks. I guess I should be glad ours was completed in such a "quick" timeframe as Dylan would tell me, because another member of our community started at the same time and still has a shotcrete hole in her backyard.
It was excuse after excuse, if i wasn't texting on monday or tuesday to find out what was scheduled for the week i'm not certain we'd even be done. The fence took 2 weeks to have put back up. Every morning for 20 weeks, i woke up wondering if there were a bunch of men in my backyard at 6am. I understand the need to start early because of the heat, that wasn't the problem, but dragging the project out caused our schedules to be out of whack for far too long. When the shotcrete guys were there I was so excited! Then they discovered the spa was off by 2" and they couldn't do the work. Had a pre-wire been done (Cal Pools doesn't want to pay for it) they would have discovered the error before the concrete truck was there! Cal Pools had to eat that cost too. Then we had to have plumbers and steel guys back out to adjust the spa. The pavilion was delayed because the City of Surprise kept sending back their permit request because they couldn't submit it properly, then they couldn't send it electronically and waited days to figure it out. Then the inspection on the pavilion indicated the post needed grounded, so more delays waiting for electricians to come out again. It's the most unorganized company we've worked with so far in the Valley.
We had a change order that ended up with a less than $500 balance and they refused to move forward with shotcrete until we paid it. I asked to square up at the end because I knew there would be additional change orders. Guess what we had 2 more change orders. Then when the project was done I received a check for $800 that had been over paid.
These are terrible business practices. We live in a new build community and a lot of folks are asking who they should use. I can no longer recommend California Pools because of the lack of organization of the project and lack of concern from their management.
I am pleased with how my back yard turned out, our designer nailed our vision perfectly. We've had to have service out a few times already and often they leave the pool in a state that we don't know how to get it back to normal and have to call for help. The "orientation" we received at 5:30pm at night in the dark was pathetic, they did end up sending out their lead tech to review things with us again and we've made sure we understand how everything works because we want to minimize the number of times we have to call them back out and deal with whatever mess is left to clean up after their techs are here. What really bothers me is that at no time did anyone above Dylan, our project manager, contact us. We had no one to voice our concerns to. Our designers manager did call us but his voicemail basically said he had nothing to do with the project management piece.
