I had an absolutely amazing experience with Shasta from start to finish and couldn’t recommend them enough. The design process started with Chris where he was beyond helpful in getting me to the design I loved as well as explaining all of my options across the board thoroughly. He made everything very easy in terms of making sure I understood the different options in order to make the decision making process even easier.

Once the project was released, I began working with Andrew and Monica. Again, I can’t say enough good things about these two. Not only were they both extremely efficient and timely with checking statuses and scheduling stages, they both were great communicators. When Andrew came out to the house, he always let me know and was never bothered by me going out to ask questions. He was always very clear in setting expectations and preparing me for what was next. As for Monica, she was so on top of everything and never missed a single update. I always knew what the next step was and who to expect. She kept things moving along so quickly and blew my expectations out of the water.

Shasta knows what they are doing. From friends in other states that have put in pools, I went into the process a little wary that I would need to micromanage. I did not have to do anything of the sort. There was no point in the process where I wasn’t anything less than completely confident in the service and product that was being provided.

We started the process in early October. Finished in mid-March. Communication is sketchy. Never know if and when workers will arrive; however, when they do, they work very hard. Supervisor came once at first, then MIA. Husband pretty much was on-site manager, tracking progress, alerting them to issues, following up constantly.
Pre-planning was fine, although not super happy with our choices and would have liked more input. Sales guy MIA after signing the contract.
Kicker was after paying $60K plus, our last payment of $6K was done via bank transfer not their portal, as they had the amount wrong. So...they delayed last steps 10 days until they got the check!!! Seriously????
We got bids from several pool builders and they were the best option. Would I recommend? Yes, if you don't mind spending every day managing the build.

We had Landscaping added to our pool package at Shasta Surprise location. Joey Moya and his team did amazing work transforming our dirt filled backyard into a beautiful outdoor living space. They were hardworking, careful, funny, had great attention to detail, and just an all around great team. In less than 36 hours they made our vision a reality. Thank you Joey and the Shasta Landscape team.

We absolutely love Shasta pools. Everything about our experience was spot on ,we had no issues and if we had questions they were answered in a very timely matter. I could go on and on about how great Shasta is. We dealt with Chris and Jordon at the surprise location and on the construction side of it was Leya and Greg. Absolutely wonderful people and I'll say it again,a spot on experience. Our contractors were awesome . When they gave us a time that they would be there they were there that day. The contractors absolutely took pride in everything they did and we're happy to be there. They were all very super friendly.

We can not thank Cyndi enough and the entire team at Shasta Pools for making our backyard oasis come true. She was great to work with. Her rendering became our reality for our forever home. It’s absolutely perfect for us and we will enjoy it for many years to come.

Vincent is the best technician on your staff! I will not let anyone else maintain my pool. He is very thorough, friendly & professional. His work is stellar! He honestly should be in management.

I have a Shasta pool that I got built from the company. I also bought the extended warranty from them. I called the Shasta customer service department today to get service since some of the pop up heads in the pool are not coming down. I was informed that that Shasta does not carry these anymore and I'll have to call Pentair myself to get the parts before they can come and replace them. I told the customer service rep that I paid thousands of dollars to get the extended warranty and this should not be the customer's job, since in the past they have replaced the pop up heads and why are they changing the terms of the contract? I requested a tech come by since I have no idea what I'm supposed to order. I was told that if I would like a technician to come by and look at the pool to see what exactly is required, I'll be charged the deductible twice in that case; first for them to come inspect the pool and again to replace the ordered parts.
(Interestingly, when I go to the Shasta website they actually have the Pentair pop up heads for sale on their website, when I was informed that they don't have them in stock to replace them for a customer who has their extended warranty.)

I also informed the customer service rep that the actuator valve is also leaking and was told that if the tech has the parts necessary to fix it, then he will replace the part. This doesn't make any sense given why would someone come by until they are sure they have the parts already if they are charging the customer a deductible to come?

Needless to say, this has been a very frustrating experience. One would expect them to take amazing care of their customers when one has paid for their extended warranty rather than giving the customer the run around.

Shasta‘s salesman do an excellent job but once contracts are signed beware. We signed a contract in March 2021 after being told the pool would take 6-8 months to complete. Excavation was not done until September, electrical was not placed until Feb 2022. After lots of excuses, emails with no return calls, and a complaint, our pool was finally completed in July 2022.
I gave two stars only because since June the Shasta team has stepped up to make things right. The pool looks nice but because of their excessive delays I can’t even enjoy this frustrating, and expensive project until next year because I’m expecting a baby any day now.
If Shasta would have been more direct and honest about time frames it would have been a much better experience, instead we were blown off and eventually felt scammed until the last couple of months. One other issue was the danger of having a large excavated hole with no safety around it for months. When I requested some type of fencing they put up a dinky plastic orange netting.
Attached are images of the excavated hole that fully flooded after months of sitting in the harsh Arizona elements vs the final result. I’m staying hopeful we don’t have any issues in the future because of long exposed rebar, pvc piping, electrical, and flooded red dirt.

Working with Cyndi was an excellent experience. She created a great design for our small pool. She was easy to work with and offered us numerous options to explore until we made our decision. Looking forward to the next step in this journey.

Cyndi was amazing. She made the design process fun and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We've had the pool for 2 years now and no issues. Anything that happened along the way, they were quick to send someone out to resolve it. I would recommend Cyndi and Shasta to everyone.

Would not recommend Shasta for multiple reasons. Their communication is just awful. It took me 3 months of back and forth to get a design appointment scheduled only for Bryan, the designer, to no show and not answer his phone. Was assigned to a different designer due to the hiccup and it took him a week to design a pool and a patch of turf, nothing matching of what we asked and not including numerous other backyard features to include. He kept saying it would put us way over our budget. Met with a few other pool/hardscape companies, all of which responded in a very timely manner and presented designs listening to our wants and exceeding them all very close to our budget. Shasta apparently didn’t value our time or our business but we’ll spend our $100k + elsewhere. Do better, Shasta.

Avoid Shasta Pools — delays, zero communication, and constant extra charges

This was a horrible experience from start to finish. The project was plagued with constant delays, poor quality, and almost no communication.

The “project manager” was essentially nonexistent, and the coordinator had no idea where the project stood unless we called and told them what had already been completed. Despite that, they were always quick to collect payments.

Shasta subcontracts everything and does not manage their subs, which led to repeated delays and confusion. Things that were fully operational before the project somehow turned into thousands of dollars in extra charges for pumps, valves, and components that “suddenly” didn’t work. Issues took days or weeks to resolve.

They damaged our cool decking and handed us paint to fix it ourselves. Unacceptable.

The price may look good up front, but the frustration, delays, and lack of accountability are not worth it. Pay more and hire a company that actually manages its projects.

Do not believe the pitch.

We are very happy with the project we did with Shasta. We did a built-in pool with spa and water feature Shasta delivered on what they promised and throughout the whole project responded very quickly to all our concerns. Cyndi was our designer and listened to our needs.

We are very appreciative of the whole process with Shasta Pools from the first meeting with Scott Powers and his professional and caring mindset. He drew up our design exactly as we had envisioned. We are so happy with the outcome! Scott Powers is an absolute gem of a consultant! We had a few construction coordinators along the way but Nina Nason was on top of her game and kept us in the loop through the whole process. She made sure to let us know of changes and updates in a timely manner. Nina is a sweetheart and very kind and made sure we were taken care of. Our pool is absolutely gorgeous and it is so inviting that we wish we could jump right in!! Daniel was very helpful in the process of construction and he went above and beyond to help us. At the Surprise location the front desk associate is so helpful and kind. She always asked how myself and my family were doing and she always has a beautiful smile on her face! Thank you so much Shasta Pools!! We are so happy with our beautiful pool!!

Cyndi was awesome and is truly a valued asset at Shasta. She was super friendly and cheerful, had wonderful design ideas, and was able to bring our makeshift "dream drawings" and put them into a 3-D color image of EXACTLY what we wanted. She thoroughly cared about delivering to us our dream pool and backyard oasis throughout the entire building process.

Really regret having Shasta build our pool. From the very beginning of our project, it’s been nothing but a joke. The build experience was poor and now their customer service is even worse. My pool is falling apart and they’re lolligaggin’ about pushing service visits out left and right. It’s always an “emergency occurred and a tech can’t come out today but we’ve rescheduled you for next month” with these people. Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys at all costs. Wish I would have stuck with my gut originally.

We recently worked with Cyndi on the full design of our backyard and pool, and the experience was outstanding. She took the time to understand exactly what we wanted — everything from the pool layout and landscaping to lighting, pavers, and overall flow.

Her attention to detail was impressive. She listened to our ideas, offered smart suggestions we hadn’t even considered, and blended different design concepts perfectly. The final design matched our vision better than we could have imagined.

Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. She was patient, responsive, and always made us feel like our project was a priority. We never felt rushed, and every question we had was answered clearly.

If you’re looking for someone who is creative, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping you bring your dream backyard to life, I highly recommend Cyndi. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

We love our new pool & backyard! Our designer was Cyndi and we loved working with her and seeing our vision come to life! She listened to everything we wanted and came up with the most beautiful backyard design. Cyndi designed a pool, raised spa and landscaping package for us. After a few short months our backyard is complete! Everyone we worked with during the building process has been wonderful to work with. Workers would come early and work very hard, any concerns we ever had were always addressed and corrected right away which made the whole process such a breeze. We highly recommend anyone looking to build their dream pool & backyard to work with Shasta, their customer service is top notch!
