We bought our house in Rancho Vistoso in late 2024. When summer heat came, we were surprised by how little conditioned air was supplied to our bedrooms—almost no airflow from the registers versus the gale force supply in our great room.

A check of our flex ducting in the attic showed a poorly designed and installed supply plenum and ducting. It had been like this since the house was built in 1999.

I had Hamstra and one other hvac outfit (both well respected) take a look at the problem. Both companies advised a new supply plenum and replacement/rerouting of the flex duct. Their estimates were very similar, and I chose Hamstra because their process seemed more prudent-they could do a room by room load calc to size the ducts, and their project manager came by after I accepted their bid to work out the details.

They arrived the morning of the install with a great looking fabricated supply plenum, and finished the work that day. Professional and courteous install team who cleaned up after themselves.

We’ve already experienced a huge difference in the heated air supplied throughout the house. They installed a few baffles on the supply plenum so that if needed we can adjust, but it’s likely no adjustment will be needed.

We’ll see similar improved flow when air condoning system rolls around!

For us, fixing the duct problem (which affected all 3 bedrooms) was a much better investment than adding one or more mini-splits. Hamstra combines competent hvac services with good business practices, and I am very pleased with the outcome.

We just had our new HVAC system installed today by Hamstra Heating and Cooling and we are so pleased with how seamlessly the process went. Three days ago, Travis, the project manager, came to take measurements, explain the process of the install, and answer any questions. He was very helpful in getting us ready for the installation of our new system. On the day of the install, Frankie arrived first and explained the step-by-step procedure they would follow. Alex and Marco arrived shortly thereafter and they all got to work on their assigned tasks. All three answered any questions we had in such a friendly manner considering how busy they were. Among other tasks, Alex installed new filters, Marco installed the new condenser, and Frankie installed the new thermostat. Once the new system was fully installed, they informed us they would turn on the heat to check its performance and then did the same turning on the A/C. It all worked beautifully. They worked non-stop all day until the job was finished.They carefully added covering to my washer and dryer to further protect them, and cleaned up everything once they were finished. Frankie took the time to walk us through the features of the new thermostat and left the manual with us to review. Hamstra will follow-up with us next week and again later to make sure everything is working smoothly. I will leave another review later as we live with our new and upgraded system, but we are confident we will be pleased. Today I can say has been a great experience with Hamstra thanks to Travis, Frankie, Alex and Marco. Thanks so much for all your hard work and making us feel so comfortable with the process. You are all great! (Including Elizabeth at the office!)

Hamstra has been a great partner for our home. The team at Hamstra is extremely knowledgable and organized. They stay on top of everything for me and did a Fantastic job of replacing my Four (4) HVAC Units for my home. Yes, it was pricey, but that is the cost of doing things the right way.

Hamstra just replaced our HVAC and we couldn't be happier. While my husband dealt with the whole process from sales to installation to further fine-tuning, he said everyone was super friendly and professional. David and Andrew came out today to make sure we had proper air-flow (we have complicated duct work), and I could see they were committed to getting the job done right. Joshua and his team installed a dual head mini-split heat pump in the bedrooms of our manufactured home replacing . This was the second mini-split they installed for us . They were very professional and the workmanship was outstanding. They were recommended to me by a friend who had used them for a similar installation at her home. Extremely pleased! In the middle of a super hot, super busy AC repair season, Joshua, the owner, responded to my service call within 45min. And he had my AC fixed literally 10min later! This was after calling dozens of other companies and being told they couldn't come until for 24-48. Evans saved the day and did quality and professional work.
