HVAC reviews in Tucson, Arizona

AWFUL....if you have 210 and get assigned this company, request they send someone else. Getting them to call back is a total pain. George replaced my swamp cooler last year and the motor has already gone out. AVOID
-
Very prompt and worker was very nice and explained everything. Paid attention to detail and I am so happy with their work.

This company is lacking in the fact that we are in Tucson with 100+ degree Temps, pregnant wife, with a 3 year old and over a week in just trying to get a part. May be another week before it comes in. Do not use this company if you need service fast, they dont know the meaning!

Stay away. Seems like the tech already decided what the issue was before he even arrived. Didn’t listen to anything we had to say about the issue with the AC. Spent all of about 15 mins before handing us paperwork saying “sign here”. Sign what? No explanation whatsoever just “compressor is bad” with a pressure range (which is normal for the unit). Tried to explain what the issue was and he said “you don’t know what you’re talking about”.
Avoid at all costs -
Inconsistent and unprofessional. A month later, we STILL do not have AC. I had to call in to schedule a time for them to come out, because they apparently had the parts and hadn’t bothered to follow up. They’ve rescheduled again, citing humidity, and I have little hope or expectation they will ever actually show up.
-
Thank you Keith for coming out so promptly and fixing our unit. Cesar came and spent a good amount of time diagnosing our issues with the AC unit. Did a thorough job, hopefully it works now.
-
I wish they had negative stars avoid this company at all costs they are incompetent they are lazy and they live...
UPDATE!!!! 11 months later and four more times this joke of a company has come back to “fix my AC”” still blowing hot air! Cost me $60. Every month or two for them to come out here and say it’s low on Freon we topped it off. You shouldn’t have any more problems. LOL!! Still having problem George. It’s time for me to call the BBB. and report your scam. Also I believe the ROC should look into your business practices hopefully the Tucson Police will get involved. -
I would like to take the time to say thank you for the quick service, the polite staff and to the polite gentlemen that came out to work on my heating unit, a big thank you! Its great to know that George's Heating and AC make customer service a priority!! Thank you to the nice lady that took my wife's calls and always had a smile in her voice. I would recommend them to my friend and family!!!!

My ac went out last night in my rental home. The rental company called this place for an emergency repair. They didn't call me like they said they would. I called them and they said they can't be here until the third, a week from today. When I told the woman that's unacceptable and I have animals in my home she said "okay I'll cancel your ticket". Completely useless. Garbage.

NIGHTMARE HVAC CONTRACTOR!! SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME, FRUSTRATION AND MONEY!!! THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!!! Unfortunately, these guys were sent by my home by my warranty co., 2-10, to repair a blown fuse in my heating system. After three visits (by a three-man crew), some replaced parts and a lot of conflicting stories regarding their diagnostics, they determined I had bad lines going from my outside unit to the blower in the attic (which was ruled out by them in one of their prior visits). These guys knew the new lines would not be covered by 2-10 so it would have to come out of my pocket, but not to worry, they said, because, interestingly enough, they have a crew dedicated to this exact kind of work...lol... They told me it would cost me probably just under $1,000 and that they'd have George call me to work out the details. I spoke with George the following day and his story for needing to send his "new line crew" out just didn't add up to anything his techs were telling me so I had a different contractor come over for a second opinion. The new HVAC contactor sent ONE tech to my home, who was thoroughly confused as to what George's techs were doing, because wires were not properly connected from the attic to the new board. After a couple of hours of tracing and undoing George's work, he was able to fix my unit!! I wished I would have checked these reviews prior to letting George's into my home THREE times, because it's clear I'm not their first victim!!

Service techs are nice and helpful, installers quick nice and helpful, admin does everything they can to screen your call. I don't think there was a single time I called where I did not get the voice mail. I know they are busy, it is summer and they work with warranty companies, but even if I left a voice mail it was a gamble if I got a call back that day. Overall George's is a good company, but I wish the admin made more of an effort to answer the phone.

I have the 2-10 warranty like one of the other reviewers and have had the same misfortune having to work it through this business. My AC went out on 30 October and I called my warranty company. To this company's credit they were out to my house the next day. That is where the compliments stop. They diagnosed my system and determined that the compressor was toast. They then let me know that I would hear from them. I got a phone call the next night from my warranty company informing me that the parts would be shipped to this business for install. I called George's to confirm that the parts would be delivered on the 8th of November and the receptionist suggested that I call on that day to schedule the install (not sure why they can't call me the same day and schedule it but okay). So the 8th came and I called them. I got a younger sounding gentleman on the phone who said that he would call me back after he confirmed my parts came in. He never called....
I called him back the next day, he told me he'd call me in a few minutes. He never called so I then called him again later that day. He fed me the same BS saying he would call me back. He didn't call. So I called him one last time and chewed him out for not returning my phone calls. He literally told me again that he would call me right back. No surprise, the call never came. So I just called 2-10 and filed a vendor complaint against them. If you are READING this, please do the same. This company is horrible and they have no business servicing warranty holders for 2-10. TERRIBLE!!!!! -
I’m currently overseas for an extended period, so I have a tenent staying at the house. Since it’s difficult to coordinate things remotely, I’ve had the tenent coordinating any repairs. Unfortunately, our air conditioning went out over the summer, and, unbeknownst to me, George’s was assigned by the home warranty company to look at the issue.
Since I am out of the area, I never received feedback on the issue with the air conditioning problem.
Today, I called George’s to ask about their previous visits. Initially, the girl who answered the phone told me when they came by, it was a faulty control panel requiring replacement. When I asked if they replaced it, she said no, the warranty doesn’t cover it, so they don’t touch it. Instead, they gave the tenent some instructions and left. I followed up by asking how they knew it was faulty if they never touched it. She told me she didn’t know why I brought up the control panel needing to be replaced since they don’t touch them. I told her because she just told me it needed to be replaced. She reiterated that they don’t touch the control panel, therefore wouldn’t have known if it needed to be replaced or not.
Next, I asked what was wrong when they went. She pivoted by saying the air conditioning unit was frozen. I asked her why it was frozen, and she said it could be a lot of things, for example not replacing your air filters, etc. She went on to tell me they returned later, and the air conditioning was working just fine. I asked if they investigated why the air-conditioning unit was frozen. She responded, again, by listing the various possibilities. I asked if they actually determined what the issue was instead of guessing. She responded, in a frustrated tone, “I’m not sure what you want from me. I have told you that we went to the unit, saw it was frozen, left, and came back later and the air conditioning was working fine.“ We went back and forth on this several times as I tried to understand whether they had determined why it was frozen. Ultimately, she never actually answered my simple question of whether they actually looked into WHY it was frozen.
Finally, I asked if I could talk to George since she was not helpful. She said she would leave a note and hung up on me.
That is some solid customer service right there. It blows my mind they’re still in business, frankly.
UPDATE:
We changed to A1 Heating and Air, and glad we did! They sent a technician out the next morning to investigate the issue. Turns out the AC was frozen (surprise!) Instead of letting the unit thaw and kick the problem down the road like George’s did, A1 identified the issue, ordered a replacement part, and the problem will be resolved next week. Seriously, I have no idea why anyone would choose George’s. Shout out to A1 for a job well done.
My experience helped me understand why George’s has only ONE positive review in the last 2 years, but ELEVEN negative reviews in that same timeframe. -
I think a 1 star is too much for this company. I will try to keep it to a minimum otherwise thos review would be pages. So here's my story. We have a contract with 2-10, a home warranty company and as such are limited to the contractors we can use. George's has been out 6 times to fix our A/C unit because 2-10 said they had to guarantee their work, after waiting a week this last time with no air conditioning, there have been other times but this is the longest. They came out Saturday to fix the unit, after awhile the tech told us he had fixed it but to wait 2 hours before turning the unit on because the soldering he had done had made the unit hot. 2 hours later we turn it on and it didn't work. At our wits end we hired an outside contractor to look at it for us. We had tried both George's and 2-10 to get help as we have serious health issues in our household and all pets and our family are suffering. Yes, we told both companies and no, they didn't care. The hired contractor wrote us a letter explaining what was wrong with our unit. Not to our surprise, the incompetent repairs by George's was the reason our unit is out. We are now on day 9 without air and have been told it will be at least another week before our unit is fixed. Please beware of this company. They can make a bad situation worse and in Arizona, the heat is not a good thing.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. When the drain pan on my A/C unit overflowed and started leaking through the ceiling, the service tech was able to diagnose and remedy the problem, even though the clogged drain tube was in an unusual location. He was friendly, neat, and I have complete confidence in the work performed. The service was contracted through Fidelity Home Warranty, and the only reason I didn't give five stars, was that the service was performed a day later than originally scheduled. Apparently they ran late on a job Monday night, so they came first thing Tuesday morning. Some months ago, George's came out for a different service call. On time and fixed the problem quickly. No issues at all.

I believe this company and 2-10 warranty work together to scam people. Upon reporting our A/C failure to 2-10, George’s contacted us. It took them over a week to get to the house, where they took our $60 and said they would get back to us when they recieved the part to repair the A/C. George’s was also sure to inform us that he would not be making any money off our work. At that time, we had to agree to pay an additional $600 when they came to install the part, which we agreed to. It has now been over a month and we still have no working A/C. Our home has been over 90 degrees at times. We contacted both George’s and 2-10, neither company has done anything to help us. George’s refuses to return any calls, even when 2-10 has said George’s will contact us.They have never returned to our house since the initial visit. George’s says they will “call us right back” but they never do. 2-10 refuses to refund us any money. They are making even cancelling our policy very difficult. I am now just trying to inform anyone in anyway I can to avoid being scammed by either of these companies. Avoid George’s heating and AC and Home Warranty 2-10 at all costs. I am contacting the BBB on both companies and I encourage anyone who has been is a similar situation to do so as well.

George's was quick to send someone out to look at our AC problem. The technician was very professional and said he would need to discuss what he found with George and they would get back to me in a few days. I gave them a week and then called to get a status. Their call center said they would call George and call me back. No call was ever received. I repeated this exercise every couple of days until I just gave up. You would think they would at least have the courtesy to tell me they didn't want my business or that they weren't able to make the repairs I needed so that I could contact someone else but instead, they wasted both my time and the folks at their call center for 2 weeks.

This company is tied with my home warranty. I had them come out three weeks ago to fix my face unit before it starts to warm up. I have talked to the owner himself a few times to see what the plan was and if he was going to set up an appointment to repair my ac unit. He said he would call me back two or three times and has yet to call me back. Very disappointed with this company and would not recommend them to any of my friends and family.

Very unfortunate that the home warranty company we have for our home contracts with George’s heating & AC. They conducted an analysis of the situation with our AC and they reported that only a “piece” of what our AC needed replaced would involve cutting into the ceiling. Yet, we contact our usual heating & cooling company and they said no such requirements were necessary. Our other heating and AC company installed an ENITRE NEW UNIT with absolutely 0 cutting into our ceiling involved.
It is clear that George’s heating and AC out to scam customers. -
Was given this company through my 2-10 warranty and man has it been a ride. My heat hasn't worked in over 3 weeks while trying to work through the issues. Mind you, it is December! They only called me back 1 time out of 13 outgoing calls to them trying to follow up and give them the benefit of the doubt. They never update 2-10 company of what the issues were so we could not move forward wit ha new claim or even move on in trying to fix our heater. No wonder the only work they can get is through a warranty company where the fault typically gets placed on the home warranty versus the terrible service George provides. For the sake of your heater and your sanity please use another company!

This is the second time George's has been called on from 2-10 and my A/C experience has gotten worse each time.
The first time (4/24) I called them out because my A/C was under-performing and I wanted it running its best for the impending summer. I requested several quotes for different levels of repair/replacement and was told the technician would talk to George and send the quote over. Never heard from them again. After the first service my circuit breaker started to trip frequently (at least 8 times in the 5 weeks between technicians).
The second technician came out (6/5) to inspect the electrical system and informed me that it should be covered as part of my home warranty. It wasn't, apparently, because of previous damage/lack of maintenance. Again, I requested several quotes for cleaning, repairing affected parts vs replacing the entire A/C unit. The technician said he would talk to George. Again, I didn't hear back for a week so I called to request the quote. The quote I received was a single sentence for a $5700 repair. No itemization or details beyond the tonnage and location of the A/C unit.
Needless to say, when the A/C stopped blowing cold last night (6/12) I called another company instead. The technicians were professional and courteous but whatever is going on at home office with communication is not worth the headache. After $150 in service fees and 2 different technician visits, my A/C is now worse off than it was before. I'll be more trusting of other reviews after this experience.
